( The chainsaw, while effective as any monster in the wilds, does not earn approval from Mishka - it's not efficient, and efficiency holds more weight with him. At least the killers seem to be appropriately manic, he supposes. )

Hmmm. Do you suppose she'd return us to where we came from, if we marry? Or, rather, let us stay?

( If only he had the words to describe the endless expanse of nothing. How it seemed to stretch timelessly on - so long it felt nearly as if he had floated in there longer than he had existed as himself; as Mishka.

How humbling it had been; how lonely; and without, in the end, any comforting release of death. Just indifferent quiet. )


... Does it still hurt?

( He doesn't look at Adelis when he asks, because he knows Adelis hates that sort of attention. But it's clear his attention remains on the scars he knows are below the fabric, and not the frenetic energy of the movie, the killers moving in quick motion. )
