[ Vanitas' designated date from the auction is Amber, and while he can't say he's having a bad time, there are moments in which he can be caught without her around the ship.

Sampling the wine is something he's not opposed to, and he may or may not be tipsy when someone approaches. He can also be found at the buffet, squinting at a dessert dish...that looks like Tarte Tatin?? Wow, he's going to scrutinize the hell out of it. It'd better be good. ]

chocolates.

[ He's not a fan of chocolate, especially if it's too sweet. He's got zero idea about the bonus effects, too, but while he's out in town square, he idly pops a piece into his mouth.

He grimaces a bit. Too sweet, too sweet – but he starts to realize something was terribly wrong with it when he sees the next person and instinctively approaches. And then, without warning, he will pick them up bridal style. (Effort will vary depending on the individual.)

He blinks down at whoever he's just scooped up. ]

...Huh?

[ And then he'll promptly drop them. Oops. ]

[ He does another brush of his fingers through Aether's hair. It's soft, which is what he expected, and starts sectioning it off. Before long, he gets to work. Vanitas is handling him surprisingly gently, and Aether's hair is easy for him to work with.

When he's finished, he lets go and stands back to check it. The braid is clean, neat, and even. ]

[Aether reaches over for his braid and examines it.]

It looks much nicer than when I'm doing it myself.

[He gives Vanitas a smile.]

He can't help but smile back at Aether – he did pretty well, indeed. ]

[He laughs a little.]

Thanks. Before that my sister would sometimes braid it for me.

[ He folds his arms over his chest. ]

Did she travel with you prior to arriving here?

[startraveler]

[He's silent for a moment, before shaking his head.]

She... was kidnapped by an unknown god. I've been looking for her ever since.

[ He can't help but let out a dry little laugh. ]

Isn't that similar to what happened to you? You were brought here against your will. Perhaps she's also searching for you, somewhere.

[startraveler]

[He falls silent again.]

Maybe you're right. I... know we will see each other again.

[No matter how many year it will take.]

That seems to be a natural outcome.

[ He gives Aether a little grin, but smile doesn't quite reach his eyes. ]

As long as you can obtain your ticket to go home, that is.
