He's only got a handful left, so camping in the mountains happened to be one such remaining contender. Tents set up, campfire crackling now that it's gotten a bit darker... and Mishka's returning with some freshly-caught game. He'd packed some meat and veggies to cook already, but... )
Do you like rabbit? It just doesn't quite feel like camping without a bit of hunting.
( ... yeah. Finding safe game to eat was kind of hit or miss back home, but it was sometimes necessary when your job asked you to travel lightly and furtively. Besides, he enjoys it.
Noticeably, though, Mishka has not gone near the fire since it was set up. He's quite good at making it seem pretty natural in the way he paths his walk, but it's not tough to figure out with a bit of thinking. Especially not with how he sets up a little station between the tents with his flashlight to start prepping the ingredients, both prepared and hunted, instead of near the fire. )

I don't mind rabbit; it doesn't have a bad taste when you know how to cook it. You a fan of hunting, then?
[ Yuri has taken notice of Mishka's aversion to the fire. He may seem like an average laid back guy, but he's actually rather observative. Living for many years in the Lower Quarter, a stint as a knight, and adventuring around the world will hone these qualities.
Anyway, he'll head over to see if he can help, and well, he does bring out some seasoning. Because of course he has some with him. ]
I'm a pretty good chef too, so I don't mind helping with the cook. Including sticking it over the fire.

In a sense. I used to have a much more physically active job back home, so sitting about leaves me a little restless, at times.
( It's good to get the violence out, sometimes. In any case, he'll gladly make space for Yuri to help with the bnuuy, especially since he seems to know what he's doing with the seasoning.
In regards to the fire comment. Hm. That gets to him, if only because, in all personal matters, Mishka is generally decently discrete. Unfortunately, there's really no being discrete about avoiding fire or no subtle way to suggest having a camping experience without fire, without raising questions as to why.
It really is a bit of a sore spot, when your biggest weakness is unavoidably blatant. A lot less in Crescent View, granted, given Ostoya's only source of light was fire much of the time, but still. )
You have my thanks. ( Just gotta be cool about it, lest he start overthinking. ) I'm afraid I'm not much of a fan, so I tend to avoid it, though it is often inconvenient, as one who often travels.
( And as one who has camping on his bingo, )
Did you learn cooking while out on the field like this, or is it a hobby?

[ ... The whole 'not being able to sit still' thing still being a part of him despite the fact that he's also the type who likes to chill and lounge around. It makes for an interesting contrast to the rest of him, not to mention his tendency to liking to fight.
But that said, Yuri's not going to go out of his way to poke fun at people's insecurities. Though, him mentioning the fact he travels a lot piques his interest. For obvious reasons such as him doing a lot of that himself. Though, he figures already the man had experience getting around the outdoors due to adjusting to camping with ease, beyond of course their mutual agreement to come out here together. ]
I learned how to cook well enough when I was younger, and then, yeah, when I was out on the field. It becomes necessary to know how to heat up a meal when you don't have anything convenient to make it happen. Not to mention, having knowledge of what is or isn't good to pick out in the wild.
I'm assuming it's the same for you?
[ Or it could've just as well been a hobby, he supposes, but only one way to find out is ask. ]
