[Syrlya pauses to consider that as he closes the door. It hadn't been on his mind until he offered but... yes, it would make sense Mishka is more used to manipulating finer blades that him. A part of him is, perhaps, a little wary about him putting a knife so close to his body, but...

Well, it isn't like Mishka would have anything to gain there is it? He came for help himself, after all.]

I appreciate it. I wouldn't call my hands shaky but... this is difficult work by myself. And if you'd like, we can still discuss the contents of your letters. [Syrlya enters the kitchen, pulling one of the other chairs closer to the one he was sitting in.]

Only my front half fell into the water, so it hasn't affected lower than my ribs. [But it is everywhere above it.]

( Mishka studies Syrlya more closely as he takes a seat, fortunately not thinking of any funny business. )

Do you mind?

( He's going to take up Syrlya by the wrist to better inspect the way the flowers dig into his arm, reaching into his belt to extract a particularly thin knife, excellent for incisions. Why does he have this at hand, and what does he use this for here in Crescent View? Don't worry about it. )

[Syrlya presents his arm with a shake of his head to indicate he doesn't mind. He lets it hang limp so Mishka can turn it as needed.]

Down in the mines. There was a pond with restorative properties... but it also caused some tree branches and myself to sprout flowers. Luckily they don't appear to still be growing, so I should be fine once they're removed.

All sorts of things happen in the mines, hm?

( With the precision of a killer, Mishka quite carefully sets to work, pulling gently taut each stem, and manipulating them about as he makes the slightest incisions to extract them with as little trauma to the skin as possible. Advanced weeding.

Given the slightness of the cuts, they hurt next to not at all, kind of like acupuncture, though it may ache a little should he need to go particularly deep to slide one out from the roots without snapping it off at the stem.

Though he speaks, he's largely focused on his work. )

Was it painful?

So it seems. [Fairy trials, bears, magic water...]

I've had worse. [And it's true, this much isn't enough to even make him flinch.] Mostly it is just uncomfortable. They've picked almost all of the worst places they could to have sprouted.

( He works his way up unhurriedly. He's been pretty up close with Trahearne, but he hasn't had a chance to properly examine Sylvari like this. He's certainly studying Syrlya's body with a investigative air, gaze inquisitive and a thumb touching along the strange ridges of his skin... leaves? )

Have you places with less sensation than others?

( A bit like human anatomy, if so. )

[Syrlya looks to Mishka's hand as he studies his leaves, his faint smile amused at the open-faced curiosity of his anatomy.]

That's correct. Such as, the tips of my leaves are less sensitive than the base. [He pauses, considering.] I would wager it is close to the degree of humans, because we move similarly. Many other plants are instead very sensitive to being touched.
