i. flower shop 💐

[ Oriphi's flower shop is now open! She has been hard at work growing flowers on her and M-21's farm, trading with townsfolk and such to put everything together. And so beginning in the fall, she spends most of her afternoons after tending to the farm in this cozy little nook in town, available for any and all floral needs... and possibly even more! There are also small gifts available in the shop, like little plushies and little crafted items, decorations, and homemade snacks.

Ori herself can usually be found fussing over some arrangements or displays, chatting with random NPCs who wander in, talking to some of the live plants inside the shop (??), or otherwise sitting at the counter enjoying some afternoon tea, ready to be bothered.

What are you waiting for? Come on in! ]

ii. on the arco lunar 🚢

[ Ori has dressed up for her date on the Arco Lunar with M-21, with her hair carefully braided in a half up, half down style.

She'll be sticking with her date for the most part, but she can easily be caught by herself now and then, looking out into the sea while leaning on the guardrails of the deck... and occasionally looking like she's not doing too well. She's doing her best not to get seasick...

If the boat rocks at any point, she might end up having to lean on someone, grabbing an arm. ]

S—Sorry! I just need... a second.

iii. teleportation!? 🌳

[ Are you foraging in the forest? Or minding your own damn business in town?

If there's a conveniently person-sized trunk of a tree nearby... You might suddenly be greeted by the sound of magic sort of... bubbling up from said tree. Then in just another moment, a magical portal appears on the trunk, through which steps a petite little tiefling, now fashionably bundled up and looking a little cozy for the fall! She has a basket hanging on one arm and a staff held in the hand of the other.

She startles when she sees she's not alone wherever she's come out (yes, even in town). ]

Oh, woops! Good day!

[ The portal seems to close and then disappear behind her, and the tree is left looking as if someone didn't just fully walk out of it. ]

I didn't startle you, did I?

[Aether ventures into the flower shop out of curiosity. He was going to check it out much earlier, but then things happened and buying flowers wasn't really on his mind.

...Now he thinks that getting a bouquet may not be a bad idea.]

Hello? Ah...

[And he smiles seeing Ori.]

It's been a while.

[ It just so happens that when when Aether enters her shop, Ori is a bit preoccupied by tending to some of the bouquets on display. Some of the flowers are starting to wilt, but she'll trim those off to dry and use for decorations! She has her floral shears in one hand and a bundle of these cuttings being held by the end of her tail. It's not until he says "hello" that she turns and sees him. ]

—Aether!

[ She hasn't properly spent time with him since they met at the tavern sometime ago! Though she certainly saw that, um, showdown at the auction... ]

It has been a while, hasn't it? Welcome!

[He waves, smiling at her.

...He kind of hopes she has forgotten about the auction thing. Or that they both got drunk the last time they met. A part of him wants to ask if she's met Diluc and if he told her anything about drinking, but he stops himself. Let's talk about nicer things!]

I didn't know this flower shop was yours.

[He looks around.]

I'm looking for something nice... as a gift. [He may or may not blush a little.]

[ She has not forgotten, Aether... He fought so valiantly... And she remains, to this day, blissfully unaware as to any potential threats made upon her person for getting Aether drunk!

But yes, nicer things! She sweeps an arm out at her shop, beckoning him to come in and look around. ]

It is! I managed to get this open at the beginning of the month, but of course everyone was preoccupied with those dates—

[ Wait. He's looking for a gift!? And he's blushing!?!? ]

—Oh! For... For someone special, perhaps...?

[He would be very grateful (and embarrassed) for your support Ori. Bless you.

He walks in, giving her a small smile.]

Ah, yes... things got busy. I wish I came here earlier, though...

[Ah. But she's asking who the flowers are for!]

...For my roommate. I was hoping we could decorate the house with some flowers.

[Please ignore his blush!!]

Oh, yes, of course! For your house.

[ M-21 has been leaving her flowers in their kitchen every now and then for some time now. This is probably like that, right...?

Although... ]

Aether, you're blushing!

[ Sorry, buddy. ]

[The fact that she points it out makes him even more red in the face.]

[He's not actually sure if Vanitas would be okay with Aether telling people about their relationship, so he tries to talk about it in more round-about way.]

I'm pretty close with my roommate... and I just want to make sure he knows that I appreciate him.

Um... what kind of flowers would you suggest?

[ IT'S COMPLICATED... (it's not. They're both incredibly into each other and they're just being dumb about it.) ]

Hmm, well... Are there any colors that your roommate prefers? We can start there!

[That's actually a difficult question.]

Blue... His eyes are blue, so I think flowers in that colour would work perfectly.

[That sure is a very personal detail!!

...Also eyes again. Maybe after what happened at the date auction he just pays more attention to people's eyes now. Yeah, definitely.]

[ Oh, that sounds almost... Romantic, to be thinking of his eyes, but... They're roommates!? Oh my god, they're roommates. What does this mean. ]

You... Ah, you pay attention to people's eyes a quite a bit, don't you, Aether?

[ There's no judgment in her voice, just curiosity. And also: he's valid because she does the same thing. ]

Blue, then! Let's see... I have forget-me-nots, and hydrangeas...

[ She guides him over to where there are containers of those flowers on display. ]

[Now he really is blushing.]

I... I guess sometimes I do.

[Sometimes?? Does that mean anything? Does the person has to be special??

In any case he follows Ori!]

[ He's blushing so much, and out of politeness she's trying very hard not to draw attention to it, but...

She pulls a bundle of forget-me-nots out of the container, and then a stem of pale blue hydrangea with her other hand, holding both out at him. ]

What do you think? Do either of these remind you of your roommate's eyes...?

[He takes a look at the flowers, fingers gently touching the fragile petals.]

I think the exact colour is between the two of these. It's a very clear kind of blue, like a cloudless sky.

[He pauses, realizing that he's talking too much.]

B-but these flowers are still very beautiful. I think he would like them!

Well, we can always go with both. I think the intent will be clear, especially if you write some kind of note to go along with it... Wouldn't that be sweet?

[ Anyway. She can't take it anymore. She has to know. ]

Aether... Do you have feelings for you roommate?

Ah, I think that you're right...

[He laughs sheepishly. Of course she figured it out.]

...Yes. We confessed to one another, actually.

[He still can't believe it!]

[ With Aether's blessing, she starts to combine the flowers in to a nicely arranged bouquet, but her hands still when he answers her question. ]

Oh...! You did!?

[ Already!? Aether moves fast, and she's got to respect that game honestly!! ]

W-Wow! Then that means you two are together, right? [ otherwise, he wouldn't be here buying flowers!? ] Congratulations!

[He nods shyly. He didn't mean for it to happen so fast! It just... happened.]

T-thank you, Ori...

[He tries to grab his own braid just to focus on something else.]

I honestly still can't believe this...

[ For a moment, she simply stares at him. ]

... Hah, things like romance, and falling for someone... I think for many of us it really is such an unbelievable thing.

[ She goes about wrapping the flowers in brown paper, adorning it with a blue ribbon. ]

But acknowledging your feelings and acting on them is a huge step. I'm happy for you, Aether! And, um... I hope it's not strange of me to ask, but how did you realize...? With your roommate.

I... I wish I knew how to answer.

[He presses a hand to his cheek, feeling that it's burning.]

It feels like it just happened and then I was trying to deny that it could ever be real.

[But he wasn't able to fight that feeling for too long.]

I was sure I care about him because... because he seemed to need someone by his side.

[ It just happened. Oh, this is. This is a mood. It is such a mood. What does she do...?

Ori starts to blush, too. ]

I... I think I understand. To be honest I think... I think, I'm having similar feelings for my roommate. I just...

[ She doesn't know if she's ready. Just why is it that M-21 fought for her, and only her, at the auction, anyway? They had such a lovely time, but... Couldn't that just be from being fast friends, too? And what if his friends were wrong about her? And what if, what if, what if. Her mind is always full of these worries. ]

I think it's wonderful to know you two can be at each other's side from now on, though... The life of a traveler really can be lonely sometimes, can't it?

[He recognizes her hesitation and maybe that's why he steps forward and takes her hand gently in his own.]

I know what you mean. I was unsure if this is a good idea, too, but... Amber told me that I would regret it if I didn't give it a try.

[He smiles softly.]

And I'm glad I gave it a try.

[Loneliness is not something he deals with all that great and he's happy to have a companion in Vanitas now.]

Oh...

[ Amber... That does sound like something she would say. ]

Of course. Amber's such a strong-willed woman. Hm...

[ Now, she has to ask her self that question, too. Would she regret it if she didn't give herself and M-21 a chance...?

At last, she hands Aether the bundle of blue hydrangeas and forget-me-nots. ]

I'm glad that you gave it a try, too. And that you shared your thoughts with me...

[Aether nods and accepts the flowers. His smile continues to be soft.]

I'm glad too. And I'm glad we could talk about this.

[He looks down at the flowers, before his gaze shifts to Ori again. His expression is warm and thankful.]

I hope you will also give it a try... and that everything will go well for you.
