[ From the other side of the door, it sounds like Ori is having a conversation with someone, and when she finally opens it to answer Amber... There is no roommate in sight, though does she has an orange cat in her arms. ]

Amber! For— For me?

[ Her gaze flicks down to the proffered gift, but - ]

Oh, dear. Your hands... May I heal them for you?

( For her, indeed! And aawww, what a cute kitty! )

Oh - don't worry about me! I've had worse scrapes. They're just more annoying than anything! But, uh ... if you're offering, I definitely wouldn't mind getting them healed. Thank you so much, Ori!

[ Mikan-Avolyn is a bit of a tomcat who loves girls, so he meows happily at her before leaping out of Ori's arms, immediately purring as he weaves between Amber's ankles. ]

I know you have, but that doesn't mean you have to walk around with these all day. Especially not when you have a friend who's a healer.

[ Ori takes the gift off of Amber's hands and ducks back beyond the door for just a quick moment to place it on the nearest surface. She's soon then taking Amber's hands into her own and reciting a quiet incantation. An amber amulet hanging from Ori's neck glows, and so too do her hands as she a warm, healing energy flows from her fingertips and washes over Amber's hands, sealing cuts and alleviating the painful pricks dotted across her fair skin. The magic lasts only for a few seconds before it fades. ]

( Before Ori heals her, Amber definitely takes a moment to gaze down and admire the kitty circling her ankles, giggling fondly. )

Aw, hi there! ( She peers back up to meet the other woman's eyes. ) O-Okay...!

( Amber watches Ori's necklace glow when she takes her hands, feeling pretty mesmerised by the process. The healing feels incredible, too - warm and soothing, just like Ori. )

Thank you so much...! That was so cool! ( Dang! She wishes she had healing powers! Amber rotates her hands, appreciating her friend's handiwork and the fact that all of her painful cuts are gone. )

[ Ori gives Amber's hands just a little bit of a reassuring squeeze before she lets go. ]

Of course. There's no way I'm going to let you run around with injuries when I can do something about it. Now...

[ She takes a step back to grab her gift again; Mikan-Avolyn, meanwhile, meows at Amber. ]

Ah, he likes you. Say, do you want to come in for a little bit for tea or something?

Oh, that would be great! I'll take coffee if you have any!

( Amber is careful to allow Mikan-Avolyn to walk through her legs while she enters Ori's home. Such an adorable farm ... as expected of Ori. )

Aah, I hope you like your gift!

Coffee? Sure thing!

[ Ori isn't much of a coffee-drinker herself, but M-21 is, so there's no shortage of it in their home. Once Amber is properly inside, Ori closes the door and gestures for Amber to sit on the sofa, near which there is a coffee table where she sets the gift back down momentarily - only so that she can get some water going in the kettle. We do pour-overs in this household, baby. (Also Ori doesn't know how to work the fancy coffee machine they have, probably.) ]

I'm sure I'm going to love it, especially since you put in so much effort that you got your hands all cut up...

[ But she sits down with Amber then, taking the gift up once more and finally opening it. With a quiet gasp, she picks the adorable little felt bear up and for a long while, she's just... staring down at it in her hands. ]

Amber... This is so sweet... You made this? It's beautiful!

( Ahh, coffee! Honestly, she isn't picky. Coffee is coffee! So good. She waits with anticipation when Ori opens her gift, then breaks into a large smile. )

Ehe! That I did! I really hope you like it, Ori!

Of course I like it - I love it, I...

[ She's just going to throw her arms around Amber and pull her into a tight hug. ]

( Oh...! Well, in that case, she's just going to hug her right back! )

That's so great to hear! It's the least I can do for how kind you've been to me.

[ The tiefling gives her an affectionate squeeze before letting go and peering back down at the gift. ]

[ With a smile, she goes about reading Amber's note! ]

Ahh... You really are such a sweet woman. I'm very lucky to have met you here, Amber. I'll have to think hard about a perfect present to give to you in turn!

Aw, you don't have to do anything for me in return! Really! But I'm so happy you liked it! I really am so glad I met you.

[ Oh! There goes the kettle. Ori stands to tend to the hot water and start preparing coffee for Amber in earnest. Mikan-Avolyn, womanizer that he is, rubs up against Amber's leg and purrs, seeking more attention. ]

Hm, I think he definitely likes you. Or... I think he just likes ladies more, actually.

[ The cat is her roommate's biggest competition for Ori's affection, even though she doesn't know it. ]

Have you been doing well this autumn, Amber?

( She's more than happy to give this affectionate kitty more of her attention! Crouched down, she scratches behind his ears. Amber glances up in order to respond to Ori's question. )

Oh! Uh ... good! ( Kind of?? ) Just the same old, really. I've been doing lots more work on my farm just to keep busy. Making use of the bulbs I got during this time of year and all. How about you?

[ Mikan purrs happily with a sweet little grin on his face. Ori, meanwhile, hums contemplatively. ]

Me, too! Plus it's been a bit busy at the shop...! It's a good problem to have, though, so I'm grateful.

[ A beat. ]

Did you enjoy your cruise date? I ran into Mister Vanitas on the boat, you know. The tarte tatin ended up being really delicious!

I was just so excited seeing the box of free stuff! I wanted to dive in straight away. I demolished the chocolates and gave Vanitas a massage with the oil to say thanks for the date. ( Sigh. ) But I can't say reading the note would've helped that much to begin with ... I only learned what the word "aphrodisiac" meant once Diluc told me. ( after her second date............. )
