[ Berry picking, huh? That's something they're more than familiar with. It's nice to spend a day out, focused on something that's not everything else that's happening. They don't really ask anyone to go with them; if someone happens to come across them, then they won't say no to the company. Rather, they'll glance over and raise a hand. ]

[ Mysterious chocolates suddenly appearing for them? Suspicious. Mira isn't quite sure what to think of them. Still, they're not that suspicious, and they want to help their and Lucia's farm, so... off to hand them out!

After realizing the chocolates' effect from giving a chocolate to the first person, Mira hesitates before offering one. ]

Are you sure you want one? ... They'll make you cry. Literally.

[ A change of scenery is nice once in a while. They don't have anyone to invite with them, but that's fine. Mira's fine with spending time alone, anyway. It's enough to just clear their head elsewhere. They don't have much of a goal in mind, but they can be found a few places: the beach, where they tend to take early morning or late night walks; the bar, where they usually enjoy a glass of cider; or the baths, because they sure do need a chance to relax. ]

[ Turns out that Mira jumped right into the baths with him, seeing as how Tartaglia waves as them as soon as they venture close. ]

Hey! [ He's emanating friendliness, cool as a cucumber even when the heat threatens to be oppressive on the pores. ] Come on in, the water's fine.

[ Nothing nefarious can be felt whether or not they take him up on the offer, seeing as how Tartaglia's missed their company plenty? For some reason, Mira fled in the midst of placing down Date Auction bids... what was up with that... ]

You haven't been in long, have you? I'd hate to have to carry you out because you passed out.

[ The water is wonderful. There's a playfulness to the way they look at him. Strange, though, that they can feel that friendliness. Huh. Their curiosity comes through pretty clearly. Also clear is that... well, they're happy to see him. ]

Enjoying the resort? I've never been to a place like this, so it's all new for me.

Ahaha, I'm not one to be bested. I'll have you know, I'm in my element!

[ Hydro won't get the better of him, even if he's getting a little carried away when he raises his hand? High-five? ]

Make sure you don't space out yourself. Inexperience won't cut you any slack with me. [ Oh, he's relentless with strangers, but even worse with those who grow close to him. You don't want that manhandling. ] Tell me about your homeland, Mira. Surely you weren't waiting until arriving here to finally cut loose?

[ Fanciful sights like these can't all be brand-new. That's too sad. ]

[ Who are they to give him a high-five? It's with a laugh, too. Blink and you'll miss it, but they let their hand linger for a half-moment longer than what's normal before they drop it.

Another thing drops, too: their smile and their mood. Expression is less obvious, but they feel more pensive, melancholy, and simmering beneath it all is anger. ]

There's not too much to say about that place. [ While a smile returns, it's tinged with something just sharp enough at the edges. ] It can be difficult. Cruel to those who aren't strong enough. That's all below the surface.

Those who are unlucky enough to really understand are the most cynical of us all. I'd never shatter someone else's worldview, though.

[ They let out a heavy breath. ]

I tend not to spend time around people. My... job requires a lot of research. [ Wow! That's a shitty lie and they know it. Guilt often rears its head, and this is no exception. ] So I don't have much time to indulge in something like this.

[ That anger comes rolling into him and Tartaglia is completely given over to it, this awful mess of feelings that comes in so reflexively that only confusion seeps out at first. Was it that much of a mistake to ask? But he didn't watch his words then, and he isn't watching them now.

Weird how it registers, so negative that he's awash in it. Plenty of room for sympathy here with the way they've chosen to respond, but there's the guilt that comes parceled with a lie and he can't mistake it for anything else. The silence hangs in the air long before Tartaglia's words do, when he levels his gaze on Mira. ]

... Were you lying just now?
