mid-feb event.

The yearly animal exhibition is taking place in Town Square along with All Hallowsβ Eve at the end of the season, but thereβs something off about fall this year. Perhaps itβs the pirates who have anchored themselves at the beach...?
This seasonβs crops are eggplant, carrot, yam, spinach, and green pepper. Fallβs seasonal flowers are lamp grass, lilac, sweet pea, chrysanthemum, and petunia. As for mushrooms, porcini, enoki, and portobello spores are available for the fall.
the animal exhibition
The Animal Exhibition is your opportunity to show off the animals youβve spent the last year raising, caring for, and nurturing. Competitors will take the stage to make an appeal as to why their special little friend deserves the title of best in show. The audience will then rate their animal β and whatever impassioned speech was made on the animalβs behalf β on a scale from 1 to 10.
Both barn animals and animals from your coop may be entered, but your cats and dogs do not qualify for this competition.
Characters will be asked to fill out the following form to enter their animal in the exhibition:
Name: Your animalβs name! You did name your animal, didnβt you?
Special talent: Animals are just as special and talented as their human counterparts, obviously. Even if itβs complete BS, please tell the audience what your animalβs special talent is.
What qualifies your animal as best in show? This is your opportunity to make an appeal to the audience and talk up your animal. Go on, fish for votes! Thereβs no limit on how much can be said about your animal, so go nuts.
Once again, judgment will be cast by the audience and scores given on a scale of 1 to 10. Reply directly to the applications themselves to cast your votes and/or discuss the animal being presented with the exhibitor and your fellow audience members.
OOCly and ICly, the exhibition takes place on the 15th. Votes will be tallied and the winner announced OOCly and ICly on the 1st, giving you two weeks to enter, discuss the entries amongst your neighbors, and vote. The winner will receive a special animal never before seen on the island. Thereβs only one of it in existence!
all hallows' eve
As the end of Fall nears and Winter approaches, the residents of Crescentview Town have begun setting out carved gourds on their porches and handing out unique handmade candies to the farmers on Fall 30th, otherwise known as All Hallowsβ Eve. The bar has also begun selling hot pumpkin spice lattes that leave you feeling a bit sassier than usual.
It is said that the souls of the dearly departed roam the island during late Fall in search of their final resting places. The townsfolk carve gourds in order to house these wandering souls and allow them to rest before venturing on in search of a permanent home. These carved gourds glow with an eerie blue light when occupied with the souls of the dead... according to the townsfolk, anyway.
It is recommended that farmers use pumpkins from last monthβs harvest to carve their lanterns. Otherwise, a variety of small gourds can be purchased from the grocerβs. Candy and other sweet treats can also be purchased here if you wish to participate in the tradition of handing out candy on the 30th. Additionally, the candy distributed by the townfolk might leave you feeling scared and in need of comfort if consumed on the 30th. Spoopy.
thar be pirates
Remember the strange ship circling the coast? The one that is quite obviously a pirate ship? Yeah. Coming as a shock to absolutely no one, that ship has anchored at the beach and unloaded its gaggle of 100 pirates onto the shore, and the pirates waste no time heading into town to cause commotion and trashing, raiding, and pilfering farmerβs fields.
The level of damage wrought to your farm and the items taken is up to player discretion. The pirates are looking for fresh fruits and vegetables to take back to their ship and arenβt above using force and underhanded tactics to get them. Itβs quite possible that, if aggressed, they wonβt hesitate to attack farmers and villagers. If you give them what they want, the damage done to your farm may be minimal, but if you refuse, prepare for a fight!
The pirates will continue to take to the streets and ravage the island at random from Fall 18th to Fall 30th. Characters may attempt to deal with the problem on their own, partner up with their neighbors, hold town councils to arrange a larger-scale effort to thwart the pirates, etc. This is a very loose and open-ended event, but if your characters want to coordinate a special effort to deal with the pirates that require mod input, please give us a poke through the questions toplevel below. Additionally, the Goddess can be contacted ICly for assistance.
task board
The task board is located in Town Square and changes from season to season. In real time, a season is one month long. The following tasks are available from February 1st to March 1st and more tasks may be added mid-month.
Certain rewards are only available through event participation, so please keep this in mind when planning your threads. Multiple tasks may be completed within a single thread, but when turning in, please link to the individual tags in which each task was completed.
Finally, rewards are per character, not per farm, so those with housemates may want to coordinate with one another with regard to what animals youβre bringing home to your farm.
This monthβs current tasks are as follows. New additions have been highlighted in red.
1. Distribute your special chocolates. Fall is the season of love and thankfulness. Share the chocolates the Goddess gave you with your friends and neighbors to receive 1 random fall crop seed. This task can be completed 10 times.
2. Express your appreciation for your neighbors. Tell your friends you care for them, give them a hug, make them a warm meal. No matter how it is you show your appreciation for the people around you, βtis the season to make sure they know it. Complete this task a total of 10 times for 1 random fall flower bag.
3. Go foraging. Bushes producing blueberries, blackberries and raspberries can be found in the foothills and are prime for the picking in fall, but be careful: you might get a mild case of poisoning if you donβt know what youβre looking for!
You can also pick bioluminescent mushrooms in the forest and seashells at the beach to complete this task. You will earn 2 random bags of fall mushroom spores with each submission and you may complete this task a total of 5 times.
4. Check out Dulces SueΓ±os Resort. Travel there alone or with a friend for 1 cow, sheep, alpaca or goat of your choice. This task can be completed once and can be combined with tasks 6 and 7.
5. Contribute an item to the community pot. Throw in an item of your choice, but be warned: the Goddess might punish you if she catches you throwing in any garbage or dirty work boots. Complete this task once to receive a rabbit or chicken of your choice for your coop.
6. Share a memory with someone else. Spend the night at Dulces SueΓ±os Resort with a friend. As you rest, youβll exchange a single memory with the person sleeping beside you. You can complete this task to receive a Buff Fairy contract that summons a single Buff Fairy to work the farm, harvest and water crops, feed and brush animals, etc. You can complete this task a total of 3 times. That's three times the buff fairies!
7. Feel another personβs emotions. Visit the island and soak in its waters with another person. Doing so will allow you to feel what the other person is feeling. This task can be completed 3 times and each completion rewards you with a Diva Fairy contract. These fairies in their little designer heels are quite sassy, but they'll cook, clean, and do whatever work around the house that you demand of them.
8. Submit an Islekea furniture set. Islekeaβs application process has been streamlined and simplified! Applications are now free to submit and you may choose a maximum of of 5 items to supply in a set regardless of which room in the house they suit best. Submit an application to complete this task and earn a wardrobe containing 4 outfits from home. This task can be completed once.
9. Carve a gourd for All Hallows' Eve. Those lost, wandering souls need a lovingly carved gourd to roost in. Get together with your friends to carve a spooktastic gourd to set on your porch and earn a Halloween costume to go wandering around in and scaring your neighbors with. When submitting this task, tell us if you want a specific costume or if you'd like us to choose one for you.
10. Participate in the animal exhibition. Submit your finest barn or coop animal to be presented on the main stage in this yearβs animal exhibition. All participants will be presented with the Animal breeding 101 guide and a specialized breeding kit that will allow them to breed their animals. The winner will recieve a rare and unique animal of which only one exists. This task can only be completed once.
local happenings
The Crescentview Times newspaper has chronicled the latest happenings around the island. A physical copy of the paper will arrive on your doorstep early in the morning on Fall 1st.
The Library's shelves have been stocked with a slew of new additions. You may learn something interesting! As they say, knowledge is power.
The sound of church bells can be heard ringing distantly throughout the island. It's tradition for couples to marry on the eve of the new year on Crescentview Isle, so it may be no coincidence that the Fall wind is tickling the bells tucked high up in the church's steeple.

[He has absolutely no idea how to forage things out in the wilderness that won't possibly kill himself or Syrlya... but seashells? That, he can do. It's getting a little colder, but Otegine's normal jacket is nowhere to be found anymore, instead favoring a pullover in sepia tones, taking a break from the farm to just walk down the beachline and collect shells, a bucket in tow.
He is... also collecting rocks. A substantial pile of them. Weird, but maybe not unusual... until he stops to drop off parts of his collection, pauses, and promptly picks one up like a cherry tomato and puts it immediately into his mouth.
That seems fine.
He will wave hello genuinely if he sees someone pass, rocks in his mouth or otherwise, before holding out the bucket. Come help!]
2) invasion irritation
[He's not sure whether he's angrier at what these brutes are doing to the town, or thrilled that he finally, FINALLY has something combative to do.
Though Otegine doesn't try to use deadly force unless absolutely necessary, the blade comes out more often than not at the ones that start harassing the locals. Crops can be regrown. People can't. And with his powers restored, Otegine is both unhumanely fast and strong. Have you ever watched a spear pierce right through the trunk of a tree? Maybe you get to see that happen.
People can also catch a message on the memo board as soon as the invasion starts:
Find me if they don't listen to reason. We can't let them take the city. - OTEGINE
For some odd reason, he's also included a (poorly drawn) picture of pirates attacking the town, and a stick figure holding a spear. Weird addition, but okay!]
3) wrong side of the bed
[Something must be in the water.
Fall 19th, someone's... looking a little different. Unruly hair smoothed out a bit, and deliberately in the clothing store first thing in the morning. Really, what is he thinking, wearing something like this... but he's clean cut and smooth, button up with the sleeves rolled up and the first couple buttons left undone, the smooth line of slacks and the clack of dress shoes with the confident line of his back leaving him moving in far less of the clumsy, earnest motions one might expect from the tall brunette.
Who the fuck is this person.
He's everywhere BUT on his farm today, slipping into the different buildings of town or slipping onto the outskirts of other's properties and rather impolitely looking over people's shoulders, picking items off of carts or trees like the world's his oyster (because it is, of course) or talking to employees in low tones with almost devilish looks in his eyes, only to have his gaze flick dangerously at the approach of others and straighten up with a grin that's incredibly comfortable and confident.]
Good morning. Heh. What, did I scare you~?
[He has absolutely no desire to do any helpful work today, it seems... but he sure is making a beeline like a hawk to anyone that isn't a villager if it seems like they're just minding their own business. Chocolates would get a couple interesting looks, at least, and he's bored... so don't mind as he strides on up from behind to slide around from the line of the shoulder and intentionally spook you. Personal space? Nah.]
Hey. [His voice lingers, holding out a piece with a gentle quirk of his brows and a smirk.] Found something for you. From yours truly.
4) help (wildcard)
[prompt 3 is gonna murder me dead
if you want anything unique or anything, feel free to go wild, or hit up my plotting or discord!]
3/4
He glances over to the other bed, and finds him... not there. Oh, well, it's not too strange for Otegine to wake up before him, but given the recent issue with said pirtes he decides best to make sure his roommate is fine. So, first, he gets off the bed to peek outside their bedroom.] Otegine? Are you still here?
My heart just stopping thinking this was a 4 part tag
Syrlya speaks up, and bright brown eyes snap to him, head cocking to the side with a smirk.]
Ah, Syr, you're awake.
[It's charismatic, but lacking earnest joy. Still, it doesn't wipe the smile as he gently tosses the paper aside, one leg crossing very carefully over the other.]
Good, I'd rather not make this too painful. I'm not sticking around here today.
Me hitting you with the tag chain early
At least until he speaks.]
Uh... sure? [Syrlya raises a brow. This attitude is... new.] You've made plans, I suppose?

[ No-tegine finds Oriphi in her flower shop, and successfully comes up behind her as she's multi-tasking shuffling some flowers in a vase around and watering a potted plant with a watering can held in her tail. ]
Oh! Hello, Otegine!
[ She blinks at the proffered piece of chocolate. ]
Wait. I have chocolate for you too, in that case! Let's trade?
no subject
[His chuckle stays warm, oddly low.]
Sure. I wouldn't mind something special from you, Ori.
Where are they?
no subject
I'm always happy to see you, Otegine. But ah, just a second, they're at the counter...
[ She puts the watering can down on a shelf and walks over to said counter; her own box of chocolates sits on top, and she gingerly plucks a piece out for Otegine. ]

wrongtegine...
Adelis is, for all intents and purposes, done in his fields today- instead fiddling with the tea kettle on the counter. His headaches have begun to return, much to his chagrin, albeit not too badly yet, and there's unfortunately not much to be done about them besides the usual methods. Would be that his headaches impaired him any, but as he sets the box down, the barest flicker of movement out the window has his muscles tensing in reflex.
There is somebody on his goddamn property.
His exit is swift, but silent, door swinging open on well-oiled hinges and boots making no noise even on the wooden porch as he steps out into the crisp fall air. Needless to say, he is...not expecting what he sees, in the sparse trees near the end of the property, and making his way closer causes his arms to fold tight across his chest in rather obvious displeasure. ]
Otegine. [ Sir, he is not very pleased rn. ] Is there any particular reason you decided to trespass today? When one stages a visit, it's courtesy to knock on the bloody door first.
no subject
I wasn't intending to visit. You had something I wanted, and it's out for the taking. [His town is low, smooth, not an ounce of a stutter to be heard as he buffs out dirt against one of the rolled up cuffs of his shirt.]
Are you so attached that you'll miss a single mango?
no subject
While Otegine may not be somebody he knows intimately, he has a good enough grasp on his personality that this feels way out of line. Especially considering how he acted when he did something so simple as accidentally touch his hand without permission. While he doesn't exactly know what's going on here, some crimes can never be forgiven.
Adelis' face falls flatter, and he steps closer, very quickly, and promptly slips his FUCKING MANGO from the other's hands without so much as a beat with that ripe 23 sleight of hand. ]
In my hometown, it was decided that thieves were to be punished by divesting them of their fingers- one for each offence. [ With the newfound dark circles around his eyes, his glare seems exceptionally sharp, gloved fingers wrapped casually around the fruit itself. ] Whilst I am not a generous person, I would not have said no to offering it as thanks for your assistance, for the sake of balancing my scales...but apparently, you've grown far less patience and far more dense in the past weeks.

That's really nice of you to offer. ( Amber leans over to take one out of the box. ) Have you been well?

I've heard these pack quite a punch, but I'm sure you can handle it, right?~

Pack a punch? ( She laughs! ) What, are they spicy? That sounds pretty gross but ... well! I guess I'll give it a try!

Oh, it's just Otegine. He doesn't hear what he said for obvious reasons, and he didn't see his mouth at the time, so to him, Otegine didn't say anything.
But he takes the chocolate piece anyway and offers his own hiccuping one in return. ]
no subject
Really, these chocolate side effects are a pain. But he'll at least take it without protest, holding it up before mouthing out his answer. No one needs to hear this, and he's tired of talking anyway.]

Instead of looking sad or surprised, he just looks at Otegine with a neutral look before sniffling. He's going to have sinuses after this. ]

[This is a pleasant surprise. He loves when others come to visit him on his farm, especially ones he hasn't had the pleasure of entertaining yet!
...of course, this is likely going to turn awkward real quick. After all, Sylvando doesn't remember Otegine acting quite like this in the past.
Nevertheless, he smiles when the chocolate is presented to him.]
