brisk winds and cloudy skies
As Fall’s characteristic storms continue to cast the island in layers of heavy gray clouds, the season of festivals carries on despite the chill weather. The yearly animal exhibition is taking place in Town Square along with All Hallows’ Eve at the end of the season, but there’s something off about fall this year. Perhaps it’s the pirates who have anchored themselves at the beach...?
This season’s crops are eggplant, carrot, yam, spinach, and green pepper. Fall’s seasonal flowers are lamp grass, lilac, sweet pea, chrysanthemum, and petunia. As for mushrooms, porcini, enoki, and portobello spores are available for the fall.
the animal exhibition
The Animal Exhibition is your opportunity to show off the animals you’ve spent the last year raising, caring for, and nurturing. Competitors will take the stage to make an appeal as to why their special little friend deserves the title of best in show. The audience will then rate their animal — and whatever impassioned speech was made on the animal’s behalf — on a scale from 1 to 10.
Both barn animals and animals from your coop may be entered, but your cats and dogs do not qualify for this competition.
Characters will be asked to fill out the following form to enter their animal in the exhibition:
Name: Your animal’s name! You did name your animal, didn’t you?
Special talent: Animals are just as special and talented as their human counterparts, obviously. Even if it’s complete BS, please tell the audience what your animal’s special talent is.
What qualifies your animal as best in show? This is your opportunity to make an appeal to the audience and talk up your animal. Go on, fish for votes! There’s no limit on how much can be said about your animal, so go nuts.
Once again, judgment will be cast by the audience and scores given on a scale of 1 to 10. Reply directly to the applications themselves to cast your votes and/or discuss the animal being presented with the exhibitor and your fellow audience members.
OOCly and ICly, the exhibition takes place on the 15th. Votes will be tallied and the winner announced OOCly and ICly on the 1st, giving you two weeks to enter, discuss the entries amongst your neighbors, and vote. The winner will receive a special animal never before seen on the island. There’s only one of it in existence!
all hallows' eve
As the end of Fall nears and Winter approaches, the residents of Crescentview Town have begun setting out carved gourds on their porches and handing out unique handmade candies to the farmers on Fall 30th, otherwise known as All Hallows’ Eve. The bar has also begun selling hot pumpkin spice lattes that leave you feeling a bit sassier than usual.
It is said that the souls of the dearly departed roam the island during late Fall in search of their final resting places. The townsfolk carve gourds in order to house these wandering souls and allow them to rest before venturing on in search of a permanent home. These carved gourds glow with an eerie blue light when occupied with the souls of the dead... according to the townsfolk, anyway.
It is recommended that farmers use pumpkins from last month’s harvest to carve their lanterns. Otherwise, a variety of small gourds can be purchased from the grocer’s. Candy and other sweet treats can also be purchased here if you wish to participate in the tradition of handing out candy on the 30th. Additionally, the candy distributed by the townfolk might leave you feeling scared and in need of comfort if consumed on the 30th. Spoopy.
thar be pirates
Remember the strange ship circling the coast? The one that is quite obviously a pirate ship? Yeah. Coming as a shock to absolutely no one, that ship has anchored at the beach and unloaded its gaggle of 100 pirates onto the shore, and the pirates waste no time heading into town to cause commotion and trashing, raiding, and pilfering farmer’s fields.
The level of damage wrought to your farm and the items taken is up to player discretion. The pirates are looking for fresh fruits and vegetables to take back to their ship and aren’t above using force and underhanded tactics to get them. It’s quite possible that, if aggressed, they won’t hesitate to attack farmers and villagers. If you give them what they want, the damage done to your farm may be minimal, but if you refuse, prepare for a fight!
The pirates will continue to take to the streets and ravage the island at random from Fall 18th to Fall 30th. Characters may attempt to deal with the problem on their own, partner up with their neighbors, hold town councils to arrange a larger-scale effort to thwart the pirates, etc. This is a very loose and open-ended event, but if your characters want to coordinate a special effort to deal with the pirates that require mod input, please give us a poke through the questions toplevel below. Additionally, the Goddess can be contacted ICly for assistance.
task board
The task board is located in Town Square and changes from season to season. In real time, a season is one month long. The following tasks are available from February 1st to March 1st and more tasks may be added mid-month.
Certain rewards are only available through event participation, so please keep this in mind when planning your threads. Multiple tasks may be completed within a single thread, but when turning in, please link to the individual tags in which each task was completed.
Finally, rewards are per character, not per farm, so those with housemates may want to coordinate with one another with regard to what animals you’re bringing home to your farm.
This month’s current tasks are as follows. New additions have been highlighted in red.
1. Distribute your special chocolates. Fall is the season of love and thankfulness. Share the chocolates the Goddess gave you with your friends and neighbors to receive 1 random fall crop seed. This task can be completed 10 times.
2. Express your appreciation for your neighbors. Tell your friends you care for them, give them a hug, make them a warm meal. No matter how it is you show your appreciation for the people around you, ‘tis the season to make sure they know it. Complete this task a total of 10 times for 1 random fall flower bag.
3. Go foraging. Bushes producing blueberries, blackberries and raspberries can be found in the foothills and are prime for the picking in fall, but be careful: you might get a mild case of poisoning if you don’t know what you’re looking for!
You can also pick bioluminescent mushrooms in the forest and seashells at the beach to complete this task. You will earn 2 random bags of fall mushroom spores with each submission and you may complete this task a total of 5 times.
4. Check out Dulces Sueños Resort. Travel there alone or with a friend for 1 cow, sheep, alpaca or goat of your choice. This task can be completed once and can be combined with tasks 6 and 7.
5. Contribute an item to the community pot. Throw in an item of your choice, but be warned: the Goddess might punish you if she catches you throwing in any garbage or dirty work boots. Complete this task once to receive a rabbit or chicken of your choice for your coop.
6. Share a memory with someone else. Spend the night at Dulces Sueños Resort with a friend. As you rest, you’ll exchange a single memory with the person sleeping beside you. You can complete this task to receive a Buff Fairy contract that summons a single Buff Fairy to work the farm, harvest and water crops, feed and brush animals, etc. You can complete this task a total of 3 times. That's three times the buff fairies!
7. Feel another person’s emotions. Visit the island and soak in its waters with another person. Doing so will allow you to feel what the other person is feeling. This task can be completed 3 times and each completion rewards you with a Diva Fairy contract. These fairies in their little designer heels are quite sassy, but they'll cook, clean, and do whatever work around the house that you demand of them.
8. Submit an Islekea furniture set. Islekea’s application process has been streamlined and simplified! Applications are now free to submit and you may choose a maximum of of 5 items to supply in a set regardless of which room in the house they suit best. Submit an application to complete this task and earn a wardrobe containing 4 outfits from home. This task can be completed once.
9. Carve a gourd for All Hallows' Eve. Those lost, wandering souls need a lovingly carved gourd to roost in. Get together with your friends to carve a spooktastic gourd to set on your porch and earn a Halloween costume to go wandering around in and scaring your neighbors with. When submitting this task, tell us if you want a specific costume or if you'd like us to choose one for you.
10. Participate in the animal exhibition. Submit your finest barn or coop animal to be presented on the main stage in this year’s animal exhibition. All participants will be presented with the Animal breeding 101 guide and a specialized breeding kit that will allow them to breed their animals. The winner will recieve a rare and unique animal of which only one exists. This task can only be completed once.
local happenings
The Crescentview Times newspaper has chronicled the latest happenings around the island. A physical copy of the paper will arrive on your doorstep early in the morning on Fall 1st.
The Library's shelves have been stocked with a slew of new additions. You may learn something interesting! As they say, knowledge is power.
The sound of church bells can be heard ringing distantly throughout the island. It's tradition for couples to marry on the eve of the new year on Crescentview Isle, so it may be no coincidence that the Fall wind is tickling the bells tucked high up in the church's steeple.

besides, it was kind of nice to check out something new, wasn't it? or so he's firm on believing. oddly enough, despite sharing the same living space outside of this, he feels a bit more self-conscious than normal. mild nerves as he studies her side profile briefly. but, as always it seems to dissipate as he catches himself.
he plops back on the bed, laying on his back, while he pats the space next to him. ] It was kind of a bumpy trip, huh? I really got to find a more reliable stead. [ that said, he stretches out. ] Want to take a nap?

honestly, every new day that she could spend with achilles was a day that she did not take for granted. there had been faces that had become familiar to her that unfortunately she could no longer find. she hadn't been afraid exactly but the fact that she had woken up every day to find the same familiar face to greet her in the mornings, meant so much to her. maybe it's why she didn't think twice about joining achilles on the bed and lying down next to him.
he had invited her over but maybe not like this..? ]
A little bit, but it wasn't anything too terrible. I have memories of rougher times at sea.
[ and in a playful and teasing tone, uta can't help herself but turn the question around. of course, she would take his answer seriously if he answered her seriously. ]

their close proximity is both parts comforting and maybe a bit... troubling in another sense. he almost looks sheepish as if catching himself in his own thoughts, which he metaphorically shakes off. he reminds himself to reel himself back. besides, he was the one who prompted her next to him.
what was he thinking? that said, he gives a small huff of laughter. ] That's true. I'm dealing with a woman of the sea, so I should show the proper respect, huh? [ he's kidding if just because he obviously respects her immensely. that said, he seems to hum loudly, almost exaggeratedly. ]
Maybe if you help put me to sleep? [ considering her abilities....
he probably shouldn't be making this joke, but here he is. unafraid of consequences. ]

they are things that she has come to find very familiar and comforting. before they were things that sometimes reminded her of someone else but now they were distinctly him. for the better. she'll do a bit of theatrics of her own as she hums to herself. it's less of a sound of contemplation but more of one of self-satisfaction. ]
If you want to listen to me sing, then you only have to ask. [ she'll roll onto her side, tucking an arm under her head as a pillow, and look at his profile. ] I'll gladly sing for you any time.
[ is she calling his bluff? maybe. or maybe she just really wants to do this for him. ]

but, even his hardened justifications seem to gradually dissipate at her words. as always, her presence is a huge comfort and that doesn't dwindle even as she settles in next to him. he can feel her gaze on him, but he keeps his gaze straight up, before closing his eyes. ] Hmm, that's kind of hard since I like everything you sing. [ not a lie at all and it's clear in his words just how honest he's being. besides, achilles wasn't exactly the sort to resort to lip service just because. ]
What about a song you've made while you were here? [ was there a song specifically like that? he isn't sure, but he finds himself curious nonetheless. ]

A song that I've made while we've been here...?
[ her voice will trail off as she thinks of songs that have been within her but haven't been developed. honestly, most of them have been nonsensical songs that were just sung for the fun of it... there is one that is moderately (""moderately"") embarrassing but it fits the criteria. she shuffles a bit to get more comfortable. ]
I think I know of one but it's incomplete. [ which should be fine ultimately since he'll end up passing out (ideally) before she can finish the entire song—or what she has managed to come up with. it's weird to not know what kind of dream he'll have but hopefully it'll be a nice dream. ] So, don't be too hard on me.
[ and with that, uta will start off singing in a soft voice. there wasn't any reason for her to sing her heart out when it was just the two of them like this. especially when she was treating this song a bit like a lullaby in how she keeps her voice gentle. now, at what point achilles falls asleep is to be decided but uta will keep singing until she "finishes" the song (about a little over half-way through the video).
there's no way that achilles won't want to question the lyrics of the song, but that can be future uta's problem. present uta is only thinking of the now. ]

You know thats impossible. If I had to say, I think I'm pretty soft on you. [ it's a slight joke, but he also means it. either way, achilles wasn't the sort to recite words he didn't believe in, even in jest.
when she begins to sing, while he wants to hear every note she hits and the melody she weaves... the more he feels his eyes growing heavy. the lyrics were naturally touching and he almost finds himself in a difficult position of not knowing exactly how to interpret them. it could be any number of things, really. or so he tells himself. either way, he decides to steel his resolve. sort of. with a languid motion, he rolls over to face her. he struggles to try and see her, and in the end, he only manages to catch a glimpse.
his hand barely touches her cheek before it gradually loses strength. in theory, he'd like to believe he got through the song, in reality, he might have heard 45%.
but, maybe when he closes his eyes, he'll still see her? ]

...unfortunately, the uta that awaits achilles is a different one that he has seen and gotten to know. she is not the gentle, vibrant, and friendly uta that has been a constant in his life for these past few seasons. it's an uta that stands on a monstrous creature that's not anything of "this world" with its multiple piano arms and lasers firing out of its eyes onto a group of people. the uta here is singing a song that's a far cry from all other songs that he has heard her sing before on the island. there is no gentleness in her voice. it's a song full of anger, pain, desperation, and sadness.
and as she performs the song, it's easy to assume that she has likely been cornered into this situation. not that achilles has time to get too comfortable or get a better understanding of the battle unfolding before him as the memory transitions into a different scene. he'll be pulled into complete darkness with the voices of countless people speaking all at once with contrasting feelings. their voices surround him from every angle.
here, he'll find uta in the "center" of all of it with her hands clutching at the sides of her head. ]

she isn't anything like the uta he's come so fiercely acquainted with. but, is a person really capable of displaying every single facet of themselves at all times? especially, in just a few short months? it feels like he's just been met with the wintry breath of boreas; his sweat running cold and his hands clenched tight.
sometimes he wonders if this is something uta herself kept harbored so deep within her that she thought it was just normal at a certain point; to be a bearer of something so great a burden. it's a strange contrast to how bright and optimistic she normally was. but, something tells him it's important not to look away. if what she needs is someone to pull her out of its depths, he'd do just that... no matter what the cost. even in his dreams, he feels all the more steeled to fight.
if that's what would really save her, that is.
except, the scene changes and he sees uta once more in a different light. but, as always he does what he does best and reaches out. he feels like he travels a great distance even if she's only a couple steps away, and just before he can see her face, he opens his eyes abruptly. ] Uta!
[ when he awakens his arm shoots out and hopefully he doesn't end up hitting her... ]
this is the timeline we're living now...
she doesn't expect to see anyone else in "here" with her. she wouldn't want anyone else in "here" with her, even if she had a say in the matter, in the depths of tot musica. (un)fortunately, uta doesn't realize who it is at first and instinctively thinks that it's an embodiment of the voices coming from her. though just as she takes a "step" backwards and tries to escape his grasp, another voice behind her reminds her of what she had done (while also begging her to save them) and she takes a proper look.
uta stands there for what would seem like several minutes but in reality is a few seconds as it slowly dawns on her who she is looking at. and if he's expecting her to find comfort in his presence then unfortunately that isn't true but he has been dragged into what she has been hiding behind the curtain. part of the reason why she had been so uneasy at first when they first met. ]
...Achilles?
[ a "static" distorts the voices around them as different scenes start to pop up and seem to be projected into the void. the first is a young farm girl who is earnestly looking at the screen telling uta how she doesn't want to be scared anymore and wants to go to uta so that she can listen to her sing all day. ]

he supposes that's the irony and the constant plague of his life.
but, before he can consider his own carelessness any further, she says his name and at that he instantly feels like a part of him has found peace within himself. albeit, it's brief in the midst of all the hushed whispers of voices that he also seems to hear in amplitude. he attempts to steel himself all the more, if just to face her.
this felt somehow too... real for a simple dream. he feels like he can literally hear those screams echoing inside of his ears, the inside of them itching as he tries to ignore them.
she asks a compelling question, and he doesn't exactly know if he has the answers. maybe that would disappoint her, and yet all he can do is be completely honest with her as he always had been. honest, and yet it seems they both had their fair share of secrets. ] I came to keep my promise to you. [ as "partners" in this place. he figures if she needed help, or even if she just needed someone at her side, that would be his role to fill. ]
