karaoke party!
Who: Lucia and you!
What: Karaoke Party Time
When: Fall 20
Where: Cozy Kitchen
Warnings: n/a for now
[ On Fall 15th, a notice goes up on the noticeboard advertising a karaoke party at Cozy Kitchen on Fall 20th. It may be easy to miss with all of the pirate chaos, but Lucia will put a sign at the front of the restaurant to remind her fellow farmers of the event.
When Fall 20th rolls around, the smell of Lucia's food can be smelled from outside in town square. One may also catch another redhead bringing alcohol from his winery into the restaurant, or people from the other neighboring bar moving equipment into Cozy Kitchen. When everything's said and done, the restaurant is left with a nice evening setup. It's a small-ish space but there is plenty of food and alcohol for people to indulge in, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and water. The karaoke machine is set up, and there are board games from the store that people can play while they're here.
People are free to sing, open mic style, as many times as they'd like. At some point during the party, however, Lucia will make it a point to play some slower songs on the machine and cite that it's been a while since the dance in Spring. Now might be a good chance to get one last dance in with someone before Winter hits! Finally, party games will be inevitable, so go ahead and participate or run your own. ]

... Perhaps I should have said pepper. [He looks up with amusement.]

... truth or dare?

I think I would like better control of my heart. Wouldn't it be convenient to turn off certain feelings, about certain things, that just become unwieldy?
[Love. Grief. On and off like a switch, preventing them from muddling his focus in all the wrong moments.]

The price of that convenience, can be high. Exponentially so, the longer.

[ Kaspar's voice drifts off again. ]
For survival or convenience... it is damaging to the soul.

Well, Kaspar, truth or dare?

Undecided on a whim-- ]
Truth.

How do you feel, about finding a lasting love?

[ Kaspar has to think on this a moment to be truthful, a gathering of sentiments he once knew and has come to know once again. A different burn. Even with the pause, words come easier now with the tug of honesty and alcohol spurring him forward into a whisper and a drifting gaze. ]
Though... there is little point in fretting over longevity. The unknown. Deep enough love never fully dies, it is forged eternal. Parts may change as the world around you, yet the essence remains. Living in the tender scars upon your soul that will never entirely heal. And you do not wish them to, so that you might press and remember what it is to love and be loved.

[He won't press any harder if Kaspar isn't feeling as forthcoming, all things considered. It could be too raw, or things with van Zieks could not be as serious. But he's curious and nosy.]

I suppose... Love tends to find you, looking or not.
Does that, satisfy your question?
