karaoke party!
Who: Lucia and you!
What: Karaoke Party Time
When: Fall 20
Where: Cozy Kitchen
Warnings: n/a for now
[ On Fall 15th, a notice goes up on the noticeboard advertising a karaoke party at Cozy Kitchen on Fall 20th. It may be easy to miss with all of the pirate chaos, but Lucia will put a sign at the front of the restaurant to remind her fellow farmers of the event.
When Fall 20th rolls around, the smell of Lucia's food can be smelled from outside in town square. One may also catch another redhead bringing alcohol from his winery into the restaurant, or people from the other neighboring bar moving equipment into Cozy Kitchen. When everything's said and done, the restaurant is left with a nice evening setup. It's a small-ish space but there is plenty of food and alcohol for people to indulge in, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and water. The karaoke machine is set up, and there are board games from the store that people can play while they're here.
People are free to sing, open mic style, as many times as they'd like. At some point during the party, however, Lucia will make it a point to play some slower songs on the machine and cite that it's been a while since the dance in Spring. Now might be a good chance to get one last dance in with someone before Winter hits! Finally, party games will be inevitable, so go ahead and participate or run your own. ]

Hey! Everything okay? I heard a glass smash ...

[He can't say "I'm not alright", but...]
Don't worry, Amber.
no subject
But, uh, good! I'm glad to hear you're okay.
no subject
[A little sheepish scratch of his cheek.]
You're having a good time, Amber?
1/2
Oh, not in the least! I feel pretty terrible, to be honest with you.
2/2
THAT IS. NOT WHAT SHE WANTED TO SAY. )
... !!!
no subject
[Well, now.]
What's going on? Why do you feel terrible?
no subject
B-Because everyone I've liked in this place either rejected me or they're taken, and it's so hard being around all these happy couples and-- eek! ( okay now she's using BOTH hands to cover her mouth! )
no subject
[He'll just come up and lightly put a hand on her shoulder.]
You're not the only one. [...] Want to take a breather outside?
no subject
( Could've been a worse truth! Amber follows him outside. )
no subject
...Do you really think you won't find happiness, here? I tend to think otherwise. A lot of people are fond of you.
no subject
( Augh! )
Why am I saying all of this?! No one is supposed to know!
no subject
[A helpful pat to her shoulder.]
I saw a lot of arrows to you, too, through Mishka's magnifying glass...I think you're thinking people are taken when they're not.
no subject
( YIKES )
N-No, I'm pretty sure everyone I have an arrow with is definitely taken...!
no subject
...Believe me. I know from experience. It's not a guarantee.

[He sounds...so, so exhausted, now, like he's a husk of the cheerful man he was before.]
Maybe you want to deal with the hurt of missing an opportunity?
no subject
I-I don't know ... it's too much to think about.
Sorry. Maybe we should talk about something else. I feel bad bringing the mood down here.
no subject
[Another sigh.]
Sure. What do you want to chat about, Amber? I don't like seeing you sad.
no subject
( Hm ... what would she like to talk about though? )
I'm not too sure. Got any ideas?
no subject
[Hmmm.]
You got family at home, Amber? Or anyone you're close to?
no subject
You know what? I do, actually. Not ... family by blood, so to speak, but I have many friends who I cherish with all my heart ... I miss them all dearly. They are my family.
