karaoke party!
Who: Lucia and you!
What: Karaoke Party Time
When: Fall 20
Where: Cozy Kitchen
Warnings: n/a for now
[ On Fall 15th, a notice goes up on the noticeboard advertising a karaoke party at Cozy Kitchen on Fall 20th. It may be easy to miss with all of the pirate chaos, but Lucia will put a sign at the front of the restaurant to remind her fellow farmers of the event.
When Fall 20th rolls around, the smell of Lucia's food can be smelled from outside in town square. One may also catch another redhead bringing alcohol from his winery into the restaurant, or people from the other neighboring bar moving equipment into Cozy Kitchen. When everything's said and done, the restaurant is left with a nice evening setup. It's a small-ish space but there is plenty of food and alcohol for people to indulge in, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and water. The karaoke machine is set up, and there are board games from the store that people can play while they're here.
People are free to sing, open mic style, as many times as they'd like. At some point during the party, however, Lucia will make it a point to play some slower songs on the machine and cite that it's been a while since the dance in Spring. Now might be a good chance to get one last dance in with someone before Winter hits! Finally, party games will be inevitable, so go ahead and participate or run your own. ]

...Truth or Dare?
[ At least him asking somebody counts as him playing, so he's mostly filled it out either way. ]
no subject
Hm. Truth.
[ What's the worst a stranger could ask, truly. ]
no subject
...If you could change something, what would it be?
[ What's asking anything normal. ]
no subject
That actually makes him pause for a moment, because hm, kind of heavy shit right off the bat? He taps a gloved finger idly on his arm. ]
...If it would be possible, I'd undo a curse.
[ He doesn't specify for who or what, because really, it's kind of hard to choose. At least this way it's still technically a truth. ]
Truth or dare, then.
no subject
No need for specifying, as Adelis replied just fine. ]
Truth.
[ He Xuan doesn't intend from doing much movement; this remains true even now. ]
no subject
Adelis leans back a bit- he doesn't oft inquire about other people so casually, so he thinks it over for a moment. ]
...What exactly do you dislike the most about this place.
[ Morbid curiosity. ]
no subject
...The ridiculous effects given to us by that goddess.
no subject
With that, I'm inclined to agree. The insistence on marriage was bad enough, without all the rest of the meddling.
[ So much meddling. ]
no subject
[ He Xuan definitely disliked the effects, even to this day. Meddling, though, it depends. In the end, it got him to be more proactive in certain ways.
But at this current time, he has no idea the result of it. Anyway, it isn't like he's going to act like he'd like the latter, though. They've all embarrassed themselves enough already. ]

[ The lack of divine was one of the few good things about Ostoya, for better or for worse- certainly, people had things to pray and beg to, but no Gods to rely on or blame oft forced your own hand instead. ]
I suppose it could be worse, however. I will begrudgingly take farming over my own home anyday.
no subject
[ Not so strange, perhaps. The variety in the worlds out there aren't small. ]
...Your home isn't so idyllic like this place, then.
[ Then again, even if he doesn't say, he does also agree that there could be far worse positions to be in after being kidnapped. It has surprisingly turned out with nothing indicative that it will turn into a waking hell. Even if he mmmight still be waiting for the other shoe to drop. Just a little. ]
no subject
[ Apparently Gods are normal elsewhere. Who knew. ]
Hardly. From the reactions I've garnered, most would not survive a week within Ostoya's hostile limits. I didn't think it was possible for things to be this quiet and serene when I first arrived.
[ He's somewhat adjusted to it, but you can never really scrub away all those years of tension and learned behavior. That half these people can sleep without a knife under their pillow is bewildering enough. ]

[ Unsurprising that he has never heard of anything termed as an 'archdaemon' or 'archangel' perhaps, considering the other is unused to encountering gods. ]
I imagined this was initially a façade wherein the true situation would be something sinister. But, it appears that hasn't been the case. [ Cynical, but also realistic from his point of view...those aspects never truly die even after everything, yep. ] Monsters make your home dangerous? Or something else?
no subject
[ Then again, that'd be a given when they're all gone...but he's never been a big fan of the divine, anyway. His prayer is few and far between. ]
That's what I had originally thought, as well. It was definitely too good to be true, just to be handed off for free. [ Or, somewhat for free. Still, holding hands and going on dates for a better living experience then he's ever had in his life is a small price to pay. ] Ostoya's very land is poisoned. Those who die do not stay dead, and to wander beyond city limits alone is a guaranteed death sentence if you do not know how to defend yourself. We are also governed by Kindred, who keep the neighboring countries at bay in exchange for treating the citizens like cattle. Monsters are only a small portion of casual dangers.
no subject
[ What is getting anything for free?
...
Honestly, He Xuan was (still is, to be honest) actually in a crazy amount of debt before even coming here, though that's just never really come up before. But naturally this is one of the reasons he had been so suspicious, you know, besides the obvious ones (being kidnapped? C'mon) ]
...No wonder you called it hostile. Your home sounds like shit. [ Not that he's unfamiliar with the whole 'those who die do not stay dead', but the other aspects are, hm. ] Would be surprised if you'd even want to go back there.
