karaoke party!

What: Karaoke Party Time
When: Fall 20
Where: Cozy Kitchen

[ On Fall 15th, a notice goes up on the noticeboard advertising a karaoke party at Cozy Kitchen on Fall 20th. It may be easy to miss with all of the pirate chaos, but Lucia will put a sign at the front of the restaurant to remind her fellow farmers of the event.
When Fall 20th rolls around, the smell of Lucia's food can be smelled from outside in town square. One may also catch another redhead bringing alcohol from his winery into the restaurant, or people from the other neighboring bar moving equipment into Cozy Kitchen. When everything's said and done, the restaurant is left with a nice evening setup. It's a small-ish space but there is plenty of food and alcohol for people to indulge in, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and water. The karaoke machine is set up, and there are board games from the store that people can play while they're here.
People are free to sing, open mic style, as many times as they'd like. At some point during the party, however, Lucia will make it a point to play some slower songs on the machine and cite that it's been a while since the dance in Spring. Now might be a good chance to get one last dance in with someone before Winter hits! Finally, party games will be inevitable, so go ahead and participate or run your own. ]

At some point, a tuxedo cat with trot over to Otegine as he hangs off to the side, and comes to sit politely at his feet, gazing curiously up at him.

His first thought is that it might be Ori. But no, he can see her on the other side of the room... maybe Lucia's cat? He sighs a bit as he crouches down, offering the back of his hand.]
Hey, buddy. What's a little guy like you doing here...?

Of course, the creature does not understand Otegine's speech; instead, he just keeps rubbing his head all over his hand. ]

[The eagerness earns a chuckle from him, scratching the cat behind the ears and under its chin.]
Maybe you can gift me some of your good fortune.

The cat's eyes peel open to stare up at Otegine, as though patiently waiting in response to what he says. Even though, logically, there's no way this seemingly ordinary (?) cat would have understood. ]

He sighs, withdrawing his hand.]
It's okay. I don't need much. I'm just... running a little empty now, it seems.
I'll get it back someday.

With the hand gone, the cat simply has no choice but to get up and get closer to Otegine's legs, rubbing his head on his ankles and shins and whatever he can get to.
He doesn't understand, no. But it is a comforting gesture nonetheless.
Or maybe it's just selfish. Either way, the cat is here for him. At least for now. ]

He should probably not trip over this affectionate little creature, so he pulls up a chair to settle himself down in, patting his lap with a free hand.
Up up, little friend, this will be safer.]

But no! It's lap time! The cat gauges Otegine for a second before gracefully leaping onto his lap, kneading his paws into his thighs, and eventually settling down. ]

Otegine will laugh as the cat settles down, letting the feline have its moment of comfort while the Touken continues to people watch. His hand stays steady and gentle against the back of the animal's head, content to pet it until it's had its fill.
If everyone else feels weird around him tonight, well... at least this cat's comfortable.]

He purrs, and for a short while, it's almost as though he's fallen asleep.
But, well. Either a noise or a movement suddenly catches the cat's attention, or Trahearne himself realizes he's on short time and doesn't want to transform back into himself on Otegine's lap--the cat's eyes snap open, and his head whips towards the crowd.
And a few moments later, he leaps off and scampers away.
