karaoke party!

What: Karaoke Party Time
When: Fall 20
Where: Cozy Kitchen

[ On Fall 15th, a notice goes up on the noticeboard advertising a karaoke party at Cozy Kitchen on Fall 20th. It may be easy to miss with all of the pirate chaos, but Lucia will put a sign at the front of the restaurant to remind her fellow farmers of the event.
When Fall 20th rolls around, the smell of Lucia's food can be smelled from outside in town square. One may also catch another redhead bringing alcohol from his winery into the restaurant, or people from the other neighboring bar moving equipment into Cozy Kitchen. When everything's said and done, the restaurant is left with a nice evening setup. It's a small-ish space but there is plenty of food and alcohol for people to indulge in, as well as non-alcoholic drinks like tea and water. The karaoke machine is set up, and there are board games from the store that people can play while they're here.
People are free to sing, open mic style, as many times as they'd like. At some point during the party, however, Lucia will make it a point to play some slower songs on the machine and cite that it's been a while since the dance in Spring. Now might be a good chance to get one last dance in with someone before Winter hits! Finally, party games will be inevitable, so go ahead and participate or run your own. ]

A little tuxedo cat comes trotting over to where Mishka sits. Without a second's hesitation, and without waiting for an invitation, the kitty leaps onto his lap and sits there, then turns to look at him.

Mishka is surprised, but, since it clearly seems friendly, he's gonna skritch its little ears, very gentle. )

The cat, naturally, doesn't answer. Nor does it really respond like he understands what Mishka says. Regardless, his eyes narrow slightly as it enjoys the ear scritches.
When his little head suddenly snaps towards Mishka's chest, and he goes very still. His tail twitches, and he hunches over ever slightly.

The swarming of bugs very close to the surface is definitely apparent to a little creature, especially when they're sometimes close enough to the skin to warp the flesh as they scurry beneath it. He tries to pet the cat to relax it again, there there. )
Don't worry, don't worry, they're staying inside.
( Rubs the kitty in a circular motion... No stress... )

He stares, his face gets a little closer to Mishka's chest. All that buzzing... The tail flicks a little more wildly, he hunches more.
It's so warm here, though... Front paws readjust on Mishka's thighs. Fight bug? Or nap? Difficult choice. Trahearne will be mortified later. Thanks Ori. ]

When the cat opens his eyes and looks at Mishka, Mishka might just vaguely recognize the color of his eyes... ]

The cat stares at Mishka for a moment, still, before deciding he's had enough. Whether it's simply a cat deciding that it's time to move on, or Trahearne, somewhere in there, realizing how embarrassing this is, the kitty dislodges himself from from Mishka's grasp and leaps down from his lap, disappearing back into the crowd.

Truly uncertain as to whether that was really Trahearne or not, Mishka is now without kitty. He might have to ask Trahearne about this later... )
