mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ Following the culmination of their last interaction, what with them ice-skating, He Xuan doesn't exactly consider the other man to be an unfamiliar face, though he doesn't consider him to be all that familiar either.

Maybe that's why he doesn't reject it straight out, though an additional idea comes to his head as well... ]

[ This is somehow worse than a rejection, even if he doesn't see anything wrong with this kind of a deal. ]

What kind of a favor are we talking about? Is it for the bingo card?

[ That's the only logical explanation, but he'd rather wait for an answer instead of jumping to conclusions. ]

That's right.

[ Of course, the other is free to refuse. He won't really force it, but, he pulls out the bingo card. ]

...You say you were from 'France'. What about if we do this one?

[ He points to 'French Kiss' listed on his. ]

This one?

[ He takes a peek and notices 'French Kiss' listed there, no less. His cheeks are tinted with a pink blush and he remains speechless for a while. ]

I can't promise it will be good, though.

[ That's one way to say that he's inexperienced. ]

Making a promise like that for a kiss doesn't make much sense.

[ But upon seeing the blush, he'll stare for a bit...and then reaches out with one cold finger to poke at a cheek, before drawing it away. ]

What will it be?

[ He's being stared at and poked at, how could he say no. ]

Do you want it now or later?

[ He's not the type to break a word, but it might be important to He Xuan. These farmhouses are really rundown, after all. ]

[ Poor, cute Noé, held hostage by a poke and staring. ]

Now.

[ Might as well get it over with, right? Also, he might be curious to see what kind of reaction the other will have to him saying this. ]

[ Nice, He Xuan wants a French kiss right in the middle of a Flower Festival. Noé's cheeks are burning because this is a kiss they're talking about. ]

Can we at least find a more... secluded spot for that?

[ He said now, not here and now, so there's still hope. ]

[ There's a moment of silence as he takes in that blush.

He Xuan could always kiss the man in front of so many people's eyes. But, he is, luckily, not much of a PDA person; that requires a shamelessness he's not capable of, though he is probably not exactly the most shy person by now.

He raises a hand and then points with a finger towards a place behind a food stall or something. ]

We can do it there. Anyone who dares to get curious, I'll take care of them, so don't bother worrying.

[ He says casually, but if Noé has another suggestion, he is also all ears. ]

[ So bold, so straight to the point. Noé doesn't have any suggestions, at least no better ones. Not that he could always just bail and say that he can give up on a dance... unfortunately, he's one of these goody-two-shoes who wants to help no matter what.

Which is why he nods and heads to the spot He Xuan has pointed out and waits for the other man to follow. ]

Okay. Now give me your hand.

[ He Xuan isn't exactly the type of individual to enjoy this sort of thing. He could also stubbornly refuse to fulfill anything from those squares, but participating will spruce things up, not to mention send a proverbial middle finger to the goddess. At least, that's what he thinks.

And, his choices to do which with whatever persons are not random either. Though he doesn't think about it too much right now, following the other until both are standing covered by the stall.

Without saying anything, finding it unnecessary, He Xuan reaches out his hand to Noé, curious look on his face, and will willingly allow the other man to take hold of his hand. Though at the same time, he steps closer, helping close the distance for the kiss. ]

[ When He Xuan steps closer, Noé takes a step back. What is he doing? This is supposed to be a French kiss. Before the other man makes another weird move, he just presses a kiss to his hand. ]

Voilà.

[ That's it, that's french kiss. Because he's from France. This joke is stupid, but I don't care. ]

[ Honestly, this is hilarious. He Xuan considers maybe this is the authentic version of a French kiss? He is mildly confused due to certain reasons, but you know what? This could work.

Outwardly raises a brow at the foreign word, and then he turns around as he assumes it's the other male's language, beginning to head back, as well as taking his hand away. ]

Since we're done, let's get this over with.

[ The sooner he does, the quicker he can go back to eating. ]

[ For a moment, Noé wonders if it wouldn't be smart for He Xuan to check his bingo card and make sure that his square was punched for sure... no, that's nonsense, this French kiss was absoultely legit. ]

I'll lead! You probably can't dance anyway.

[ He might be a grump, but that's a rude assumption. ]

[ . . .

He Xuan immediately whirls on Noé. There have been worst glares the supreme has sent to others, but this is getting up there. ]

...

[ He then arranges himself immediately into the leading position out of spite, help. ]

After that, I'm in no mood to let you lead me around. Get into the following position.

Ouch.

[ Do grumpy people always get even grumpier after a kiss? And it was just a French one. ]

So... that means you know how to dance?

[ Doubt. ]

[ It's not the kiss that made him even grumpier, Noé... ]

I was taught how to dance. [ Thanks to Gaku tbh ] I know how to do it just fine.

[ He Xuan says with a mostly flat tone but there is the impression he is mildly offended at the suggestion he does not. ]

[ So he was hoping for a real French kiss and he got that cheap imitation from Noé... tragic. ]

I didn't expect that. Show me how you dance.

[ Is he going to do the idol dance... ]

[ The diss on his capability made him more annoyed than the french kissing which i keep laughing about, he'll live. ]

Ridiculous. Just give me your hand and follow me properly.

[ It will not be an idol dance. He Xuan would truly die a second time if he had to something like that. All he knows how to do is some usual slow dancing, which he will get into position to run through if the other takes his hand. ]

[ He Xuan, he’d be proud of you. You’re becoming more social… kind of. Also boo for no idol dance. ]

Alright.

[ Noé takes his hand right away, looking forward to what He Xuan can do. Since all the signs are pointing to slow dance, Noé is really impressed. And doesn’t shy away from saying that out loud. ]

I’m impressed.

[ He Xuan is still allergic to being social. But, he is here. Maybe mostly because of the food, though.

Once he's finished up dancing, He Xuan realizes that it's something he shouldn't care about regardless. Though, at the compliment, he will calmly nod, hiding a little bit of his surprise. It seems he's improved. ]

Then I've done enough.

[ He turns on the heel of his foot and decides to leave the other to continue to enjoy the festivities...in a mildly better mood. ]
