mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ Cookies. Ellis has been staring at the cherry blossom cookies for a while and it looks like Noe bought himself an entire box? Ellis opens the box, grabs one, and nibbles on one end and gestures over to Noe as if it's like pocky in a pocky game... ]

[archivists]

[ Ellis playing pocky game with cookies... hard mode.

Anyway, Noé leans in without asking questions for once, wondering if this is some kind of get along T-shirt kind of thing. Looking right into Ellis' eyes, he wonders what's going to happen next. ]

[framestory]

[ It doesn't seem like Noe is doing anything other than leaning in, so Ellis tries to poke Noe's mouth with the cookie while still biting down on the other end. ]

[archivists]

[ How is he supposed to resist a cookie? After another poke, he opens his mouth and catches the other end of the cookie with his teeth, making sure that it won't break. Was he supposed to bite one side off? He's confused. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis tries to make this clear when he starts nibbling on the cookie little by little without having it break, getting closer to Noe with each bite. ]

[archivists]

[ He makes his point clear with a single bite, powerful. Noé does the same, realizing that he's never taken so long to eat a single cookie. After a little while, they're much closer than before, their lips just a few inches apart. He won't back down, the cookie is good!! ]

[framestory]

[ The cookie sure is good and honestly, Ellis wanted to see if Noe would be flustered, but now that he sees that he isn't, he takes a bigger bite. ]

[archivists]

[ If Ellis wants flustered Noé, he shall get what he wants. The reality of the situation sinks in with a slight delay, but now that they're so close... he freezes while a scarlet blush spreads across his cheeks. ]

[framestory]

[ Score. Ellis is satisfied, so he takes an even bitter bite. They're just 2 cms away now. ]

[archivists]

[ There are two wolves inside Noé right now—he can give up on the cookie, which sounds like a decent idea because he's bought the whole box. Pulling away would make sense, right? It might be his only meal today, not being able to cook is terrible when you're a farmer. On the other hand, it's just so good that he might as well pay for it with his first kiss because there's no other outcome if he takes another bite.

So another bite it is. Their lips brush against each other and he freezes. ]

[framestory]

[ For Noe's brave and valiant efforts, he gets a kiss! On the nose, as Ellis takes the remainder of the cookie. His now. ]

[archivists]

[ Wow. His face is bright red, it's going to take a while for it to go back to its normal state. ]

Is this how you eat cookies where you're from? This is how you should eat them instead.

[ He puts another cookie in Ellis mouth as soon as he's done with this one. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis laughs a little and shakes his head, writing on the notepad. He might as well tell him up front: ]

No, I just felt like doing that.

[ He munches on the cookie that Noe puts in his mouth. Delicious. ]

[archivists]

Oh.

[ Noé's boo boo the clown, not for the first time and most certainly not for the last. ]

Here, have another one.

[ He might still feel a little bad about the get along shirt fiasco. ]

[framestory]

[ Poor Noe. Ellis happily takes another cookie though. Maybe he's just giving them away? He doesn't know. ]

[archivists]

Actually, do you want to try something else too?

[ Is he willing to buy Ellis even more festival snacks? Yes, absolutely... ]

How are you feeling, by the way? After... you know.

[framestory]

[ Ellis nods to the first question and writes in his notepad for the second: ]

I'm doing very well! Why do you ask?

[archivists]

Because... you hurt yourself because of me.

[ It never occured to him that maybe Ellis just wanted to be carried around.... or whatever is going in his mind, honestly. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis just pats Noe's shoulder and shakes his head. He is Fine. Don't worry about it. ]

[archivists]

[ This is a bit reassuring... but let Noé buy you some more snacks, Ellis. Like these cherry blossom churros which are a better equivalent for pocky sticks. Perhaps that prompts Noé to try playing the game again, starting it off by putting a churro in Ellis' mouth before biting the other side. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis didn't think Noe wanted to play the adjacent pocky game again, but he nibbles on the churro and takes small bites. he's never eaten a churro full of cherry blossoms before, so honestly? Good experience. ]

[archivists]

[ Noé takes a big CHOMP to make sure to let Ellis know they're playing this. It's a game he likes, right?? Not that it's a huge ass assumption. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis likes playing this game for a specific reason, so Noe would be right either way. He nibbles some more, but he can't eat too much at once, so he takes a modest bite. ]

[archivists]

[ Noé breaks the cookie before their lips meet again on accident, but at least this gives him a chance to properly ask about something that's been on his mind. ]

Don't you want to play this anymore?

[framestory]

[ He rubs his stomach. Full. He's full. Too much dessert-like food isn't good for him. Ellis tilts his head though. ]
