dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

He gets out his notepad and writes: ]
Had enough of dancing?
no subject
Kaspar's little laugh at the question is far more satisfied than usual, evident enough in his expression alone. He nods too, slowly. It's the truth. But he'd actually avoided most dancing attempts, by slipping away from invitations more times than he'd thought he would ever need to.
He gets distracted looking over to the now thinner crowd of people left slow dancing. But he doesn't mention it. When Kaspar remembers to look back to Ellis and speak, his lips move almost as softly as they usually do. ]
Did you have fun?
no subject
Did you drink a lot?
no subject
Eventually he shrugs and takes another sip before offering Ellis some too. His content smile would say he is tipsy if one looks close enough at the edges. With Kaspar it can be hard to tell early on, when he naturally hides it so well besides the easy flush down his neck. ]
How much... is a lot? Wine is, quite good, I find.
no subject
I think it's different depending on the person, but I'm an extreme lightweight. I can't handle the alcohol at all and get drunk easily. I'm not sure if I want to subject you to that.
no subject
[ Being drunk, he means.
Rebuffed without worry, Kaspar redirects the wine to his own mouth as he drops his gaze from Ellis' face to his notepad again expectantly. It is more fun, currently, to sit close and watch him write in real time, as if he can hear the words lift from the page as they are put there. ]

Everything spins and then I fall asleep.
no subject
He's gotten more talkative tonight: ]
... do you write, back home, too?
no subject
Ellis nods and smiles, tilting his head. He wonders what made Kaspar ask. ]
no subject
So much for talkative. ]

...
He still finds a way to write. ]
What are you singing?
no subject
It may be rude, but it isn't his intention. He plans to write in the margins-- the name he believes is correct for the lullaby, first in the elegantly scripted yet harsh Groscian lettering. Below it, "'A Spark's Fable', lullaby." in Kaspar's neat cursive.
Which is exactly what he'll pause to mouth to Ellis if he is rightfully disallowed to write it. ]

... that he has no idea what music is supposed to invoke within him.
He has never heard music, but he felt the rhythm from vibrations. That's all it is to him. Perhaps it is the lyrics that get the people's hearts moving. For Ellis, it's like reading a poem with a flat voice because any other way is the same. There's no intonation.
But perhaps a lullaby is supposed to be soothing. He glances at Kaspar as if to say that he can resume. ]
no subject
He eventually starts the vibration again, from the beginning. Only this time, he taps the rhythm along with his finger against. A steady one like the hand pressed to his throat is an instrument onto itself. Kaspar sways gently into Ellis to take him along in the embodiment of the peaceful music as he sings.
His eyes remain on Ellis best he can manage. ]

So bbing I learned my new phone I have to stay on this page until it actually posts....
He leans back casually, to look at Ellis again and speak. His face is still a little flushed from alcohol, but he is even moreso at peace. Not that Ellis probably notices, unless he's let his hand remain on his throat, but Kaspar's actual volume is nearer a whisper than his lips let on. ]
Do you like it here?
[ He gives no more context for the question once the memories stir up from his mood. They've been touched somehow, by the here and now. The harvest, celebrated with finer clothes from home, once dreaded and now loved, more flowers than he ever knew existed. Even the dance itself. One he came to willingly, despite no designs on dancing himself. ]
rip tin...
Well.
He likes it better than the last place, so he ends up smiling and nodding anyway. ]
no subject
What do, you like about it?
