mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ Back to playing with his tail it is. Childe's rolled himself up into a ball, though his ears perk up again at Gaku's voice. Sounds a lot like denial, but he did end up with many, many googly eyes in his home. These things just happen sometimes.

All of this fussing about does mean he eventually spots another plastic baby, though. And several more, actually, all cluttered beneath the couch. Allow him to do Gaku a solid and pile them up in the middle of the floor. Check it out! Maybe the kitty-cat paws thing isn't so bad. It's easy to smack them out into view when he's housepet-sized. ]

Why are there so many of these things...?

[ He's in hell!!

But he'll start gathering up together with his hands so he can throw them away. ]

I feel like I should reward you for this.

[ Meow, meow. His tail does a very wiggly movement, which conveys his delight with that compliment. No thanks needed, but he'll prance around Gaku's ankles again in appreciation.

Let's say there's approximately ten minutes left until something very embarrassing happens to Childe. What should the two of them do now? ]

[ Oh, how cute... dead eyes and all.

Gaku picks Childe up and holds him in his arms. ]

Want a tour of the house? It's a lot nicer since you were last here.

[ He'll even continue to hold Childe as he walks around the house and points things out. ]

[sluice]

[ Miaou, miaou. It's all clear on his front, as he glances about at everything being pointed out to him. Will Gaku show him He Xuan's portrait? That's a good place for (REDACTED) to happen. ]

[ HE SURE WILL!

Gaku brings Childe up to the portrait. ]

I don't know why he decided to hang this here, but it's his house too, so I can't be mad about it...

[ Recognition smacks him at once— firstly that he drew this abomination of a painting, secondly that He Xuan must've hung it front and center in the room— and Childe's quite touched, actually, that it was worthy of his regard.

This is also when he changes back, dramatic poof of smoke and all. As of this moment, Childe's no longer a furry (cat). ]

[ Dick: out. This sure is a princess carry you have him in, Gaku. Has he been dropped to the floor yet? ]

... He Xuan lives with you?

[ What the hell, he's so jealous. All of those opportunities to fight that guy on a regular basis just boggle the mind. Being naked comes secondary to that. ]

[ Ah.

There's a naked man in his arms.

It takes Gaku a moment to register exactly what's going on before he very quickly and suddenly drops Childe. At least the floor is clean. ]

Uh. Yeah. He does.

[ He looks down at Childe and holds out a hand. ]

...Sorry.

[sluice]

[ This genshin makes an impact on the ground, so don't mind him the yelp, the tumble, or him subsequently rolling right into a crouch. It's very fine. ]

Faulting you for that would be going overboard. [ Look, he'd expected it, and so Childe hasn't suffered the brunt of the damage. He will need clothes, though, unless Gaku's fine with him strolling on out on here unabashedly naked. Might give people the wrong idea. ] When I painted that, I had no idea he'd place it here. It's an odd location for it...

[ Listen, he told He Xuan to observe some discretion? Or implied it? Artistic endeavors aren't Childe's strong suit. ]

[ Yeah, he's just going to ignore the way Childe suddenly rolled into a crouch. It's totally fine and not weird.

It sure would, which is why he motions for Childe to follow him back to his room so he can grab some spare clothing. ]

It's kind of... front and center, isn't it?

[ Not that that's a bad thing, but you know. ]

[sluice]

[ Whoops, he forgot to take that hand. Too busy relying on reflex and outing himself as a wacko with an agenda. Relenting to stand, he'll follow Gaku. ]

When you put it that way, it does stand out... [ This is the third time in a row Childe's embarrassed himself in front of Gaku, so it stings just a little less now. Maybe he's getting used to it? ] You're fine with it, then?

[ This travesty being hung here for people to perceive? ]

That's pretty optimistic, wouldn't you say?

[ Open-minded, too. Who knew Gaku could be so accepting... ]

Well... it's his house too. I'm not going to say he can't put something he likes wherever he wants.

[ He shrugs, opening the door to his room. It's nice and neat, not particularly decorated yet.

Gaku makes way for the drawer, pulling out a pair of black boxer briefs and throwing them at Childe. ]

[sluice]

[ Underwear, Gaku? For some reason, he was expecting a bathrobe and to be promptly escorted off the premises, but he'll put them on. ]

Living together is about making compromises, isn't it? For better or worse.

[ Well, maybe. Nothing particular of note has occurred with Pyra, so he's been free to roam around and cause mayhem whenever he so pleases. ]

Thanks, by the way.

[ Taking him into your home was nice. Imagine the fiasco that would've occurred if Childe transformed outside in his birthday suit. ]

[ He's a nice guy and he will make sure Childe gets fully dressed. But he does at least give his least favorite clothes out—overalls and a flannel shirt. ]

No problem. It's better I'm the only one who got caught in this.

[ It's weird that there's a naked guy (now less naked) guy in his room, but whatever. ]

And I didn't think I'd like having a roommate, but it's not terrible.

[ He hasn't been sexiled, so he can't really complain much. ]

[ Okay, thanks for the farmercore aesthetic. He'll put on the ensemble and look super ridiculous for it. Pocketing his Vision, as he has nowhere to clip it on, he continues to stand in the bedroom barefoot. Honestly, he's dressed enough that he could walk off like this. ]

Rooming with a guy like him does sound fun! [ This entire detour into island living has been varying degrees of fun for him, but up until now he's spent most of his time in a largely fruitless chase after a boy in a big hat, so he'll take the merriment as it comes. Childe hasn't experienced the horrors of being sexiled, after all. ] ... I should probably get going. I'm guessing you'll want these clothes back soon?

[ You know, because they're so beautiful? Childe's already mapping out what to do once he arrives at his farmstead— retrieve another pair of clothes, do the laundry, return what he's borrowed from Gaku— but for now, he stands here, a paragon of """polite company""". Too bad he arrived here as a cat. It would've been far nicer to while away the afternoon with Gaku as a human being. ]

[ This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of those clothes, so— ]

Keep them. You can take a pair of shoes at the door with you too, but I want you to return those.

[ Even more if they happen to not be Childe's size. ]

I bet you have business to take care of now that you're not a cat, so feel free to go. I won't be offended.

[sluice]

Returning the favor is a given! I wouldn't leave you in the lurch.

[ So count on him to return this outfit in pristine condition at some point, Gaku. He is, of course, beholden to every promise he makes. ]

... Sheesh, that's awfully cold. You make it sound like I'm jumping at the chance to leave. [ Settling his other affairs does take precedence, at least for today. Childe doesn't protest that much. ] I'll settle my debt to you, Gaku. You have my word. I'll be seeing you, alright?

[ Cue him skedaddling. So long for now, pal. ]
