mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ So Ellis was having quite a Time when he went home. ]

[ The hand he has on the desk turns into a fist. ]

I'm sorry. Rejecting you hurt, but I can't imagine what it was like for you.

[ Not when Ellis isn't even used to feelings like that. ]

I knew it wasn't right. I didn't want you to regret things when it wore off.

[framestory]

[ Ellis just takes a sip of water and reaches out to pat Gaku's shoulder. It's easy to get over things when one doesn't care in general. ]

"Don't be sorry for things you don't regret doing."

[associative]

[ ...He doesn't know how he feels about the pat on the shoulder, but he doesn't shrug it off. ]

Fine.

[ He'll accept that at face value. ]

But it sucked, getting what I wanted in the worst way.

[framestory]

[ Ain't that life. ]

"It happens. Sorry it happened to you. You probably hated it."

[associative]

Yeah, it did.

[ A serious look settles on his face. ]

I like you. [ He's told Ellis that he's interested, but like? That hadn't entered the equation yet. It was part of his rejection the other day, but this is different. ] I know I rejected you the other day, but I want that fact to be clear.

[framestory]

"I know."

[ Even if Gaku didn't say it, Ellis knew that already. ]

"Did you think I didn't?"

You knew before I did, then. I liked someone else when I first came here.

[ Not that he thinks Ellis cares... but he wants to have full disclosure. ]

[framestory]

[ rip to whoever that was, Ellis thinks as he sets the water bottle aside. Gaku would be right in that Ellis doesn't care about that. ]

"You're not the kind of person who sticks their tongue in someone else's mouth and not like them."

[ Well. ]

Point taken.

[ He pauses, letting out a sigh. ]

When I have to do all sorts of things in dramas, I like to keep the stuff in my personal life authentic. I don't want anything meaningless.

[framestory]

"That's subjective, like how I think pursuing me is meaningless, but you don't."

[ He thinks this is the best example to use. A shame that Gaku likes this guy. ]

"So live your life the way you want."

[associative]

[ Well, living the way he wants will be chasing after Ellis until he's fully and completely rejected. ]

Have your feelings toward me changed at all?

[ He's not expecting Ellis to like him back right now, but he wants to know if he's still nothing. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis nods. Will he elaborate? No. ]

[associative]

[ It's what he thought, but he can't help the way he leans forward, a smile on his face. ]

In what way?

[framestory]

[ Ellis doesn't say anything, but his eyes trail off towards the door and smiles. There's a resident who came for stabilizing services and is just looking at Gaku like... u done? ]

[associative]

Oh.

[ He gets up and walks over to the other side of the room, petting Fluffy while he waits for that person to be seen and leave. ]

[framestory]

[ Fluffy is here to stave off the awkward. He loves the petting so he's having a good time.

The customer asks Ellis to tone down her curiosity to manageable levels. It's been making life hard, she says. Ellis puts a finger to her forehead and stabilizes her incredible levels of curiosity to average levels. She thanks Ellis, pays, and leaves. ]

[associative]

[ When she walks out, Gaku walks back over to the reception desk, putting both hands on each armrest on the chair Ellis is currently occupying. ]

So. How did your feelings change?

[framestory]

"I'm working."

[ Gaku. Please. Ellis looks so unimpressed right now. ]

[associative]

[ He doesn't move, but he thankfully doesn't lean in either. ]

But I want to know your answer.

[framestory]

[ ...

Ellis sighs and pulls Gaku over by the collar to give him a kiss. It's a short one, as he lets go.

This better be enough of an answer. ]

[associative]

[ Oh!!

He grins when Ellis pulls away. ]

Let's go on another date.

[framestory]

[ Ha? Well, Ellis is waiting for the date idea. Where did Gaku want to go? He has expectations now. ]

[associative]

[ Unfortunately, Gaku will only provide disappointment. ]

Don't look so expectant. I haven't thought that far ahead...
