mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

As her follower, you probably enjoy this place, I assume.

[ He gives the ice cream another try and this time he actually gets a taste of the vanilla scoop rather than just brain freeze. That actually allows him to not answer the second question and stall giving a response to the next one. ]

I run into unsavory people all the time, unfortunately. That's what my job entails. Have you always been so interested in Sumeru? Perhaps you should come visit.

[ Tartaglia is pretty unsavory, which only means that Cyno isn't kicking this trend anytime soon. ]

Any chance you'll come visit Snezhnaya? If so, you'll definitely need to bundle up. You can't get away from the cold wearing so little.

[ Much like the Tsaritsa, it's a land permeated by ice and snow and painful tranquility. Can't just brave it with will alone. ]

For some reason, I'm under the impression that you would come visit even if I wasn't present.

[ Well, he surely did ask a couple of quesions about Sumeru, so it's difficult to tell if he's trying to learn something out of genuine interest or if there are some other reasons. ]

I doubt it. I need to go back to my work as soon as we're done here. There were some grand changes in Sumeru recently, so I'm needed there. [ Cyno lets out a sigh. ] I don't think I'm suited for the climate, either.

[ He's fine with his nips out, thank you very much. ]

How long have you been here? And what is your occupation?

[ Tagliatelle, the destroyer of pasta and good times, studies him intently. ]

Just to take in the sights? Well, maybe.

[ If that's where the Tsaritsa bid him leave, then he'd go. Sightseeing's fun. His tolerance for this sort of long, meandering conversation is beginning to wane on him some. While he can understand being a busybody, the suspicion here is so blatant as to be undeniable. ]

A couple weeks. Oh, and my interests align with the Fatui.

[ So, he preempts it all himself. Wonder what face Cyno will show him now, after all's been said and done. ]

[ His eyes narrow because just as he thought, he's dealing with an impasta. ]

I wasn't being subtle then, I suppose.

[ His General Mahamatra habits kicked in almost right away, but he's still surprised that Childe has revealed his connections to the Fatui so nonchalantly. Could it be that he has an ace up his sleeve? ]

I think you know the answer to that question already. [ His stance doesn't change, even if it's tempting to reach for his polearm. ] I'm surprised your ally hasn't filled you in about what happened in Sumeru. You don't seem like a tight-knit group.

[ Considering that Dottore had no objections to taking advantage of Scaramouche. There's also a possibility that Childe and Dottore didn't have the opportunity to meet, but Cyno wants to hear what he has to say, even if it's not going to be a straightforward answer. ]

[ No, he's just being upfront here. The truth is bound to come out sooner or later. ]

Ally? Who would you be referring to?

[ Unwilling to yield any easy answers, he's partially being obtuse about the matter, and partially because he's more interested in whatever is tearing at Cyno from the inside-out? The real answer is that Tartaglia is currently irrelevant to the Sumeru Archon Quest, and thus can only speak very vaguely on the matter. Fun stuff. ]

I wonder what make you say something like that. [ That's a bit of a reach, but then again, Tartaglia is always playing things off like he's oblivious. He won't protest the point? ] Snooping around where you don't belong? I had a feeling you'd be biased, but to think your grudge for those I keep company with ran that deep...

So you don't even treat him as an ally. Alternatively, you're doing this on purpose.

[ The Fatui are a whole different level, they're no scholars who desperately try to pave their way to fame and wealth. What they might have in common, however, is arrogance. ]

I'll let you know that I don't hold grudges for no reason. And, technically, you haven't done anything bad personally. You're only guilty of keeping company wih questionable people... for now.

Is he just supposed to know every hooligan wreaking havoc in other nations? It's undoubtedly Dottore, but why make this easy for Cyno? ]

Besides, what else is there to gain from concealing my allegiance from you, other than rampant distrust? It was bound to come out eventually. Honesty is the best policy, as they say.

[ He's being messed with, but at the same time, Cyno won't believe that the Fatui keep such crucial information from each other. Even if he might not know the details, it would be surprising to hear that he had no idea who was assigned to travel to Sumeru. ]

That's laughable. Is that your own motto or do all Fatui follow it?

Most of them wouldn't give away classified intel. I take my work seriously, you know!

[ Roosting in utter complacency, Tartaglia shrugs. ]

That includes orders. [ No higher prerogative is in place right now, so he can speak freely. But he's just as capable of lying as the rest of them. ] If you're the Akademiya's dog, then you know full well the importance of coming to heel. A person can't live only doing things agreeable to them.

You've been nothing but serious, I agree.

[ His eyes say it all: press F to doubt. The comment about being Akademiya's dog doesn't affect him much—it's not like Childe's the only one thinking that. ]

I'd rather not hear you compare us again unless you want something else than a bingo square punched.

[ Was that a threat or a joke? It is a mystery. ]

Oh, I can tell when my company is no longer wanted. No need to lay it on that thick.

[ Is that sarcasm he detects? Not that he'll comply by offing himself, sadly. Too bad. He'd really like to see the force behind that much-acclaimed punch, but he'd rather not instigate it tonight. ]

[ For now, allow him to walk out. Don't go fighting him in the plaza, there's way too many people here. Until then, Tartaglia turns on his heel to leave. Enjoy the ice cream, Cyno! His treat for a nice evening out. ]
