[ The wind begins to pick up in the early morning. Lucia has her animals inside of the house, harvested whatever she could from her farm, and secured as many things as possible. She's panicking in the kitchen, near her front door, her Scottish Fold named Matcha in her lap. She's nervous, almost paralyzed with fear as she waits for Noé to come over and shelter with her. She'd asked him to not too long ago.

She hopes that everything will be okay. All of her hard work, reminders of her progress here, may all be gone tomorrow. Who knows. Having Noé here will be easier, though. Now all that's left is for him to arrive. ]

[ What a day to sleep in, honestly. At first, Noé couldn't fall asleep at all, feeling anxious about the forecast which results in him opening his eyes very late in the morning. This doesn't give him too much time to prepare—crops be damned, animals are his top priority. He sets off with Murr on his shoulder, orange tabby cat named Canelé and Mousse the rabbit tucked under his arms. Too bad Owen wasn't around because he'd grab him too, alas.

Since their farms are in the forest, at least it doesn't take him long to get there. The wind has already picked up, so he hopes that Lucia is alright. ]

I'm sorry, I overslept. [ There's no point in hiding it, even though it sounds ridiculous to be late to a hurricane. ] Do you need help with anything? Are you alright? I had to take them with me, I hope you don't mind.

[ It's such a relief to see her safe and sound, honestly. ]

No, it's okay. I'm glad you're here...and please don't apologize for your pets, I'm happy they're here, too.

[ Animal safety is important. She picks up Matcha and leads Noé to her bedroom. The portrait he made for her is still up on her wall, so she lets her cat down to grab it and lay it down, so it doesn't fall and crash onto the floor. ]

We can stay in here. I tried to secure everything...

[ Once they're in Lucia's bedroom, Noé puts his cat and rabbit down and Murr follows suit. Seeing the portrait he's painted on the wall makes him smile, even if their situation is far from positive. As soon as Lucia's arms are free, Noé steps closer and pulls her into an embrace. ]

It's going to be okay, don't worry. I'll make sure that you stay safe, that's the most important thing.

[ They can take care of the eventual damages later if it comes to that. ]

We can stay like this until it's over.

[ She's glad she asked Noé to be with her today (and every other day, too). Noé's arms make her feel so safe, and she returns the embrace. She buries her face in his shoulder and lets out a quiet breath. ]

Thank you... I – I can believe it, if you're the one saying it. It truly feels like things will be okay, now that you're here.

I will always be here. [ Noé says that as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. ] I want to always be here.

[ Here being Lucia's side. For quite a while, Noé can't imagine himself being somewhere else. ]

So don't worry about the future. It'll be alright.

Noé...

[ He'll probably be able to feel her heart pick up speed. ]

I would like that, very much. If you were always here, I mean. It'd make me really happy.

[ Holding Lucia in his arms, Noé feels at peace, even if the hurricane outside is about to land. Perhaps it's reckless, but he just can't think of anyone or anything else but Lucia right now. While he notices her heart beating faster, it's not like his own isn't racing in his chest. ]

Lucia... [ He takes a deep breath and tightens his hug as if letting her go would mean never seeing her again. ] I would never have expected to meet someone as special as you are.

[ Her whole life seemed like a burden, inconvenient to those around her. Noé makes her feel like it means something more than that - that she doesn't have to be alone. She doesn't want to be. She wants to be at his side.

Wordlessly, she brings his hand up to rest over her heart. ]

This is yours, Noé. But...only if you'd like it. I just – I don't...

I don't want to be without you.

[ He can feel the heartbeat under his fingertips and it makes him feel a bit light-headed. Lucia doesn't want to be without him and she has just offered him her heart. ]

I couldn't allow that to happen. If I'm not with you, I'm thinking of you all the time. Sometimes, I can't sleep. When I look at you, the rest of the people disappear and the whole world stops, it's just you and me. I want to know more and more about you, try different things with you. I would rush to your side if you were in danger and I would protect you with my life, Lucia.

[ He makes sure to speak slowly, making a pause after each sentence. There's no guarantee that he can express all of his feelings with words, but Noé wants to make an earnest effort. ]

I...I think this is love. [ At that moment, he takes her wrist gently and places Lucia's palm on top of his chest where his heart is thumping wildly. ] I love you, Lucia.

[ She takes her time to digest everything he's said. She hadn't realized how deep his feelings ran, but everything he says, she reciprocates.

She blushes. The wind picks up outside. She curls her fingers over his chest and leans in to kiss him. ]

I love you, too. I really, really do.

[ The kiss feels different from the ones they've had before. It makes his heart flutter and after a moment, he cradles the back of her head with his hand, not letting Lucia pull too far away once the kiss is broken. ]

You made me the happiest man on this island with this one sentence.

[ Noé whispers these words against her lips before catching them in another kiss. ]

[ Kissing him has always been a pleasant experience, but this time feels more special than the rest. It feels more certain, and now that she knows how he feels, she doesn't have to worry about going overboard. She kisses him back, and after a moment, she puts her arms around his neck.

Lucia pulls away, just briefly, and she lets out a quiet little laugh. ]

I'm glad, then. I'm pretty head over heels for you, you know.

Are you?

[ Noé asks softly, the corners of his lips curling up in a smile. He tucks Lucia's hair behind her ear, letting that beautiful laugh fill his ears. ]

I haven't ever held someone else before like I'm holding you right now. I hope that it's okay.

[ He may instintively know what he wants, but there might be some situations in which his inexperience might cause him to misstep. ]

It is. I have no complaints.

[ She smiles at him, bright and warm despite the wind howling a little louder outside. Nothing matters more in this moment than Noé does. ]

You can do this as much as you'd like.

[ His smile is warm as usual, but there's something more to it now. Something mischievous, apparently. Although holding or kissing Lucia didn't feel wrong previously, he doesn't have to hold back now. ]

I definitely will do that and more, so I hope you're ready.

[ To make his point, Noé slowly leans in for a kiss on the lips. It's brief and chaste, but it's definitely not going to be the only one today. ]

[ She smiles into the kiss and gently puts her arms around his neck, but the wind blows a little harder and lightly rattles the house.

It startles her, and she draws back with wide eyes. ]

...Let's...let's sit down.

[ It startles Noé a bit as well, even though he was feeling rather relaxed just a few moments ago. He doesn't let go of Lucia completely, still holding her hand as they sit down. ]

Would you like to play a game? Or listen to a story?

[ Anything that would help distract her should be good, Noé thinks. ]

How about a story?

[ She wants to get to know him more and more. She's glad he told her about Louis, but she wants to hear as many stories as she can. ]

Any story. I want to learn more about you.

Would you like to lay down first?

[ He just suggests it ever so casually, mostly having in mind that it might be easier for Lucia to relax while he's going to tell her a story. ]

Okay.

[ She scoots onto her bed and rests on her side. She faces him, hoping he'll join her, and if he does, she'll pull her blankets over both of them. ]

Is this okay?

[ Noé lays down just beside her and pulls Lucia into an embrace when they're under blankets. ]

Perfect. Maybe I could tell you the story of a Vampire of the Blue Moon...

[ She cuddles up to him and looks at him attentively. She wants to hear his story! It sounds interesting already. ]

I would like that, very much.

[ It occurs to Noé that it might be a bit weird to tell her that story of all things, but at the same time, it feels like he can tell her anything and it wouldn't be strange. ]

The Vampire of the Blue Moon was an outcast among the other vampires. They had light blue eyes and the Vampires born under the Crimson Moon didn't want to associate with them. The Vampire of the Blue Moon grew lonely and the isolation pushed them to craft a magical grimoire called the Book of Vanitas. This grimoire has the incredibly terrifying power to actually access a vampire's true name and change the vampire's very being. As a result, they are bloodthirsty and aggressive with the desire to kill everyone in their path. Their name becomes a malnomen, and this is the fate that vampires fear more than anything else.

[ Noé sighs softly and kisses her forehead. ]

I'm sorry if it's a bit scary. I should have picked something else, probably...

No, it's okay.

[ Even if it was a little unnerving, she doesn't seem perturbed in the slightest. In fact, she's smiling. ]

I didn't mind it. I think it's interesting, to learn more about where you're from. And, Noé, if I can protect you from that fate...

Well, I hope you know I would do anything to make sure you're safe.
