[ ... and if he was wrong, that'd be another conversation completely, but he'd like to think he possessed at least that level of discernment. he could be relatively careless in... what some may argue the most imperative moments, but that was separate from his fight instinct.

Maybe I just got a thing with goddesses. But, appreciate it, Otegine [ he doesn't think he did anything particularly special. if anything, he went into it expecting a fight, and not receiving quite that. not that he didn't get at least a couple of good experiences through it. so he can't exactly complain. besides, who hates winning? ]

[ there's a genuine brightening of his expression when otegine gestures down the road. honestly, it made sense. sometimes he forgot about the perks of being within his own noble phantasm— no potential for disturbances, no need to worry about collateral damage. that said, it doesn't dwindle his excitement any.

really, it only cemented his thoughts that otegine was as much of the seasoned warrior he thought he was. someone who didn't just live by his weapon, but that wasn't unfamiliar to the chaos and adrenaline of the battlefield. ]
