so long and farewell, crescentview
Every story, no matter how happy or sad, has a beginning and an end.
One year ago, Crescentview was a small island struggling to survive, its economy on the verge of collapse. Many abandoned farms populated its land and once fertile soil crunched and cracked underfoot. The forests, once vibrant with bioluminescent mushrooms, had long since grown too dense with foliage to safely traverse. Indeed, much of Crescentview Isle had been abandoned to time and the elements save for the small central town protected by the Goddess who had little power to do anything more for the island she inherited.
Unwilling to watch her people suffer and with the goal of seeing the island flourish as it once had, the Goddess pooled together what power she had to bring people from every corner of the universe to take up the mantle of farmer and restore the once beautiful island to its former glory.
Over the course of the year, Crescentview Isle flourished and grew. Vivid vegetables dress every table and flower petals of every color are carried along the gentle breeze. The townsfolk are thankful to the Goddess but also to the farmers she brought to the island, seeking to thank them for their tireless work with a grand banquet on Winter 30.
As you feast to your heart’s content and enjoy a lunch cooked with all the produce and vegetables you and your friends have worked so hard to cultivate, looking out over the horizon at the setting sun leaves you feeling melancholy. You have one night left on Crescentview Isle, because when the clock strikes twelve, portals begin to appear all over the island.
Within these portals, you catch a glimpse of the home you left one year ago and those of the friends you’ve made along the way. Those who have married and made the decision to return home to their original lands with those they’ve wed are now free to do so, but don’t expect to get off without any tearful partings! After a year spent in good company, it’s not easy to say goodbye.
Fireworks and fanfare bid you farewell as the clock approaches midnight. You don’t have to go home, as they say, but you can’t stay here. As you depart, the Goddess’ final words ring in your mind as clear as a struck bell: “Thank you for everything you’ve done.”
mod notes
That’s all, folks! Crescentview has officially come to an end, and with that, we want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Without our wonderful playerbase, CV wouldn’t have been the great success that it was and we’re beyond grateful to everyone who has played in and enjoyed the game.
We’re sad to see you go, but with any luck, we’ll see you guys in the next game! Below is a link to the love meme and we’d appreciate if you’d drop a comment so we can seek you out and bombard you with love and praise. It’s personal this time, punk.
Once again, thank you all so much for playing! We’ll see you on the other side, farmers.
