Hello, intrepid adventurer!

I am excited to have you along for a group excursion to the mysterious new island! In two days' time, let us gather in the town square and set off from there! Please be prepared to stay the night. It will be so fulfilling and memorable for everyone to spend a night on an adventure together!

On the promised day, once everyone (and likely a few surprise tag-alongs) has gathered or been gathered, Ori distributes little paper bags of snacks to everyone. Inside are cookies, oat snacks, and a freshly-picked apple from her and M-21's orchard. Do with them as you please... Just don't let her catch you throwing it into the sea or something. 🥺 ]

Alright. I think we should head out, then! Thanks for coming along, everyone! I hope it'll be a great time. Oh, and please don't forget to drink plenty of water and use this incredible ointment I discovered on this island! It's called "sunscreen!" Tieflings don't really get sunburnt, but you should use it!

[ Ellis looks up, since he was completely submerged apart from his head and now he's brought up to be hugged. He wonders if he made Gaku uncomfortable somehow with how the emotions are shared and all in this bath. Even though the water is warm, Gaku is warmer and it's the kind of warmth that thaws out the inner ice that Ellis raises around himself.

He slowly breathes out and turns around to hug Gaku back. No more void. No more frozen tundra. Just peace, relaxation, and warmth. ]

[ He was expecting the feelings to recede a bit, but to go away and be replaced completely? That’s a shock to him, and so he only holds onto Ellis tighter before finally letting go. ]

Tell me about these things when it happens. I might not get it or fully understand, but I don’t want you keeping things locked up. Let me be there for you.

[ His words are painfully sincere, something Ellis can pick up on by the rush of intense affection directed right at him coming from Gaku. ]

[ Such sincerity combined with affection takes Ellis off guard for a moment and he looks up at Gaku, since he's slouching and all. There's really no way to refuse that, so he just nods, feeling a little embarrassed. ]

Good.

[ He cups Ellis' face in his hands for a moment, lightly patting his cheeks before letting go. ]

I wanna know these things. You might get mad at how I react, or I might be frustrated with you... but I prefer that over not knowing at all.

[ Ellis doesn't like feeling angry, but since Gaku says that, Ellis supposes he should try a little harder. ]

"I think what makes it hard for me is that my normal is very different from yours."

[ So that spacing out thing with absolute zero? Normal. Resisting feeling possessed by his survival instinct? Normal. ]

"But I'll try to keep telling you those things too, even if I find them mundane."

[ "Mundane", he says... ]

We're supposed to share little details like that anyway. I wanna know what you eat every day, or if your shower was really nice, or if you saw a nice bird.

[ Now that he's got that bird feeder, he can do that much. ]

I like knowing those things about you. So... even if you consider it mundane or boring or stupid, I don't.

[ Ellis feels absolutely overwhelmed. People wanting to know what he did? Even if it's mundane? Boring? Stupid? Uninteresting?

Excuse him while he sinks into the water with a red face. Gaku is free to feel that because of the bath. He's intensely embarrassed. ]

[ God. Now he's embarrassed too.

Gaku pulls Ellis up by his arms. He's not done!! ]

I like you, that's why I want to know these things. I hope that someday you can actually realize what it means when I tell you that's how I feel.

[ Honestly, big fucking same. He wants to know too. These feelings are things that Ellis doesn't know what to do with more than half the time, but he's getting better at it. Slowly.

So he nods again. He's not sure what else there is to say. Help. He's so frozen after Gaku pulled him up by the arms. ]

[ You know, Gaku is extremely straightforward, but there's only so much he can take when he can feel what Ellis is feeling too. ]

...At least say something. I'm getting embarrassed.

[ What do you think he feels then—oh wait.

Ellis just gives Gaku a quick kiss on the nose and backs up. He really wants to leave now. ]

[ Hurry, before Gaku decides to kiss Ellis for real. ]
