I am excited to have you along for a group excursion to the mysterious new island! In two days' time, let us gather in the town square and set off from there! Please be prepared to stay the night. It will be so fulfilling and memorable for everyone to spend a night on an adventure together!

On the promised day, once everyone (and likely a few surprise tag-alongs) has gathered or been gathered, Ori distributes little paper bags of snacks to everyone. Inside are cookies, oat snacks, and a freshly-picked apple from her and M-21's orchard. Do with them as you please... Just don't let her catch you throwing it into the sea or something. 🥺 ]

Alright. I think we should head out, then! Thanks for coming along, everyone! I hope it'll be a great time. Oh, and please don't forget to drink plenty of water and use this incredible ointment I discovered on this island! It's called "sunscreen!" Tieflings don't really get sunburnt, but you should use it!

Ten smiles, though it should be very obvious to Gaku that it doesn't reach their eyes.

"Well, don't go throwing rocks at windows, alright? Lay low, so you won't get picked for the next game."

So Ten turns around and is about to resume what they were doing. Fifty gets dragged along, but he keeps staring at Gaku.

The text window doesn't pop up this time, so Gaku is free to do whatever the heck he wants. Better make it count! ]

[ Better make it count, huh?

Gaku looks back at Fifty, a thoughtful look on his face, before he signs: ]

"Are they bothering you?"

[framestory]

[ Fifty shakes his head no. He definitely chose to do that to not involve a possible newbie, but also because he doesn't want more people mixed into this. Fifty and Ten are best friends... what could possibly bother Fifty?

But wait. This guy knows sign language?? Fifty looks like he's sparkling again and he's trying to go greet Gaku better, but Ten ends up dragging him out the room. Bye, Gaku... ]

[associative]

[ Oh...

He steps through the window, careful of the glass and tries to follow them. What room are they in now...? ]

[framestory]

[ They are in the next room over, actually. Ten made sure to close the door and draw the blinds, but all they're doing is cuddling on the bed instead. Ellis seems pretty happy even if Gaku probably knows that he's probably feeling empty at the moment anyway.

But Gaku might also feel a wave of nice feelings. It's stabilization at its work. ]

[ Hm. He kinda hates the stabilization, honestly, and he wonders why Ellis is doing it.

But because of it, he doesn't do anything at all.

Instead, he simply wanders around the building. ]

[framestory]

[ When Gaku wanders around the building, he will suddenly find himself back in front of the door of the room the two of them are at.

The scenery changes. They're at an infirmary now. Gaku will find himself there, as a nurse with a lab coat on and all. It looks like Gaku is slowly assimilating into the story. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? That's up to him.

Either way, Fifty can be seen gently bandaging Ten's sprained ankle, it seems. It looks as if a lot of love and care went into the whole thing, and they're certainly friends now.

Right?

Fifty looks at Ten with what seems to be an endearing smile and signs to Ten for them to pass on the message.

"Hey, doctor. Does this look good?" ]

[associative]

[ What the hell...? It takes him a moment to realize what is happening before he fully registers what he's being asked.

There's a pang of jealousy in seeing Ellis—Fifty, he reminds himself—look at someone like that, but he pushes that back. If anything, he feels worse for him than himself. Gaku considers signing his answer before ultimately deciding against it. ]

Yeah, it looks great.

[framestory]

[ "He said it looks great. Maybe you should get a nursing degree instead of an accounting degree."

Ten signs to Fifty, and he laughs a little. ]

"I can't really handle scary stuff."

[ Fifty looks over at Gaku and nods to thank him for the bandage wrapping evaluation. ]

[associative]

[ Gaku watches their conversation, only nodding when Fifty looks back at him. ]

What happened, by the way?

[framestory]

[ "You don't know, doctor? I was in a game today. I'll spare you the details, but this sprained ankle is a blessing. It could have been much worse."

With that, Fifty finally stands up and hugs Ten. He's glad they're alive... or something. ]

[associative]

Oh. Did you win...?

[ Maybe he's a clueless doctor. Sure. That'll work, right? Because Gaku really wants to know what's going on. ]

[framestory]

[ "For us, winning is surviving. As long as we survive, we win. That's all there is to it. It's a good thing Fifty won't have to take part in them, because he's exempt. He's not part of the feud between the gods."

Ellis actually is, but he's not saying anything. He just nuzzles into the side of Ten's head a little. Doesn't he look cute? ]

[ Gaku simply looks at Fifty, clutching the clipboard he's just now realizing is in his hands a little bit tighter. He knows that Ellis himself is extremely physically affectionate, but he's still bothered by this particular display. ]

Are you two together?

[ He knows they aren't, but you know what? He wants to see what both of them would say. ]

[ I keep forgetting to put fifty instead of Ellis o)-(

Ten smiles at the question, pretty sure that Fifty hasn't heard Gaku since he's still hugging.

"Yes. I think we complete each other."

They sound very sweet with the soothing voice of theirs, but since Gaku knows about Ten's plans already, they might as well be dripping with poison. ]

[ Since Gaku is well aware of their true nature, he sure hears that extra layer to their voice. ]

Really? I don't think you get along that well.

[framestory]

[ "Oh? Are you a relationship guru now, doctor?"

Fifty finally stops hugging Ten and stretches and looks over to Gaku... what's with the atmosphere?? He looks a little bewildered. ]

[associative]

[ You know what? Fuck it. He's not going to change anything by being here anyway.

Time to drop all pretenses here. ]

He doesn't give a shit about you, so give it up.

[framestory]

[ Ten looks shocked at Gaku for a moment.

"How can you say that? We're best friends at the very least. Are you jealous of us, doctor?"

Ellis seems hurt by the accusation as he looks at Gaku, also with wide eyes. ]

[associative]

Yeah, for reasons that won't make sense for you.

[ He looks specifically at Fifty when he says that, before his gaze shifts back to Ten. ]

I know what you're doing, and Fifty is gonna figure it out before long too.

[framestory]

[ Ten looks at Gaku as if to say, "excuse me what the FUCK are you talking about" with the glare that is absolutely marking Gaku on their hitless. Fifty gets in between them with a wary look over at Gaku. He's definitely wary because how does he know? And also, don't blow his cover?? He looks a little pleading at him. ]

[associative]

[ Fifty pleading towards him immediately gets Gaku to simmer down. ]

...Fine.

[ The look in his eyes seems to say that he won't say anything further about Fifty, but his gaze shifts back to Ten. ]

[ Oh, if only Ten could kill in practical ways, then this thread would absolutely need a heavy content warning. Thankfully, they don't.

The scene ends with Fifty looking anxious as he looks at the ground and Gaku is transported elsewhere.

This time, he's in the university patio. Fifty and Ten are sitting at one of the tables, drinking some good old soda but then Ten throws their drink at Fifty which he couldn't dodge in time, so he sits there, soaked from soda. Then it's when he's starting to feel incredibly drowsy. There must have been something in that soda, wasn't there... Fifty tries to keep his consciousness, but eventually succumbs.

"That doctor doesn't know anything. He doesn't know what he did. This bastard killed my best friend. I've had enough pretending."

So they start dragging Fifty by the ankle across the ground. They seem set on knowing where to go.

What will you do?

No matter how much Gaku can will himself to move or make noise, it doesn't happen whether he makes a choice or not. ]

[ He tries to move, wanting to tackle Ten to the ground to get them away from Fifty, but that doesn't seem to work. This was a forgone conclusion no matter what happened, but he can't help but feel guilty for it anyway.

Clenching his fists knowing that there's nothing else he can do, his knees buckle. If only he could throw something at them...

But there's nothing he can do. Nothing at all. ]
