Hello, intrepid adventurer!

I am excited to have you along for a group excursion to the mysterious new island! In two days' time, let us gather in the town square and set off from there! Please be prepared to stay the night. It will be so fulfilling and memorable for everyone to spend a night on an adventure together!

On the promised day, once everyone (and likely a few surprise tag-alongs) has gathered or been gathered, Ori distributes little paper bags of snacks to everyone. Inside are cookies, oat snacks, and a freshly-picked apple from her and M-21's orchard. Do with them as you please... Just don't let her catch you throwing it into the sea or something. 🥺 ]

Alright. I think we should head out, then! Thanks for coming along, everyone! I hope it'll be a great time. Oh, and please don't forget to drink plenty of water and use this incredible ointment I discovered on this island! It's called "sunscreen!" Tieflings don't really get sunburnt, but you should use it!

[ Syrlya will find himself in a building that's themed after a church with the stained glass for its windows and it's kept very clean. It's a university building with a religion department that is supposedly taught here, but it's empty--empty except Ellis, who will be called Fifty here. He doesn't look any different, except his eyes are gold instead of the familiar green that Syrlya may know.

One thing that is particular here is that there is no sound. Ellis is deaf so he wouldn't have processed any sounds that occurred back then or ever, so the memory is the same. However, there is an easier method for Syrlya to see what they're talking about, with a speech bubble floating above each person who "speaks". As if to demonstrate, Fifty uses his hands to sign something to another person and it comes up translated in a speech bubble above his head. ]

"Nobody really worships the author despite him being a god, right?"

[ The person in front of him also has short white hair like Fifty does along with similar golden eyes. In fact, they look so similar to Fifty that they might seem related. The other person laughs when they see Fifty's message and smiles, signing to Fifty in return.

"I don't think he cares for being worshipped. All he cares about is power and seeing the story through because of his pathetic crush on his colleague. Speaking of which, the game between them might be ending soon. It should be okay to go out in a few minutes." ]

[Wow... modern architecture.

Syrlya walks through the church while looking around, until he spots the two of them sitting and talking. It's eerily silent, and the text bubbles though helpful are strange. Their conversation, too, is strange.

He'll walk by and see if he can wordlessly grab their attention.]

[framestory]

[ Syrlya is invisible to them. While he can touch objects, like the floor, and the bookshelves lining up on the walls, he can't touch the two characters that appear as people. Fifty gets up from his seat and walks over to the other, Ten, and hugs them.

Ten looks surprised and laughs a little, even if Syr can't hear it. This world is soundless. Despite that, Ten nuzzles the side of Fifty's head and runs their fingers through Fifty's hair. It almost looks affectionate, but Syrlya is a smart guy. He might see how tense those thin fingers are as if they're just barely holding themselves back from tearing Fifty's hair out from his scalp. But no, they're "lovingly" combing through Fifty's hair.

In a thought bubble from Fifty, his reads that he wishes it could be all over soon. At the same time, it could be felt that Fifty doesn't actually give two shits about Ten despite his actions. ]

[... What a strange dynamic. Ultimately he wanders closer to them, reaching out to way his hand right in their faces--and when that doesn't work, he tries to touch Ten's shoulder to see if he can be felt.]
