Hello, intrepid adventurer!

I am excited to have you along for a group excursion to the mysterious new island! In two days' time, let us gather in the town square and set off from there! Please be prepared to stay the night. It will be so fulfilling and memorable for everyone to spend a night on an adventure together!

On the promised day, once everyone (and likely a few surprise tag-alongs) has gathered or been gathered, Ori distributes little paper bags of snacks to everyone. Inside are cookies, oat snacks, and a freshly-picked apple from her and M-21's orchard. Do with them as you please... Just don't let her catch you throwing it into the sea or something. 🥺 ]

Alright. I think we should head out, then! Thanks for coming along, everyone! I hope it'll be a great time. Oh, and please don't forget to drink plenty of water and use this incredible ointment I discovered on this island! It's called "sunscreen!" Tieflings don't really get sunburnt, but you should use it!

[ Yeah, he sure could not have.

Choices are things that people still have to make, every single day of one another's lives, and yet there are always those who act like no other option can be taken when there is.

Judgments of people aside, he's clearly listening closely, on this talk with 'Ryu' or whoever.

But, he wonders what exactly what occurred here...where Gaku's friend is concerned. Something like this, perhaps? Or something else entirely? Yet, Ryu is the one apologizing. ]

[ Gaku shakes his head. ]

Stop apologizing. We've decided to get through all of this together, right? Don't take all of this on by yourself.

[ Ryu looks a little bit emotional at that, but he nods. The other person there with them—this one with pink hair—agrees. ]

We're a team, so we're going to get through this. We can't let what they say get us down, not when we still have fans that love us.

[ He Xuan does wonder idly at the motives of that man who spoke so foolishly even more, but those thoughts are disrupted when there is more talk.

Which, you know what?

He fully agrees.

Even through hardship, you can't let someone defeat and crush you, no matter what happens. Sometimes, the best way to strike back may perhaps being in proving you haven't been smothered by such things; said with malice or not.

Unsurprisingly, He Xuan would prefer it to be more literal, at some point. ]

[ Gaku stands up, having too much nervous energy to really sit. ]

Tenn's right. We'll get through this. Even if that means we have to endure more hosts asking questions like that.

[ He shakes his head. ]

I think we'll come out of this stronger. We are TRIGGER, after all.

[ And if He Xuan wants to see more, fast-forwarding to another event here is totally optional! ]

[ TRIGGER, huh? That's the name of this 'team' of theirs that Gaku belongs to?

This is probably the first time he's heard it, in retrospect. Though, once again, he finds himself in agreement with those words.

That being said, He Xuan is admittedly a little curious about seeing a bit more.

What kind of event will follow, then? What with the fast-forwarding in mind here. ]

[ What follows is the typical idol schedule for a few days—filming, practice, and going over the details for their upcoming performance. Once those few days have passed, Gaku takes a phone call, and suddenly the world goes black around him.

When the world finally fades back into view, Gaku is tied to a chair, his ankles and wrists bound to keep him from moving. That doesn't stop him, though, as he tries shouting and moving around in the chair. Unfortunately, the men are quick to attempt to subdue him, slapping a piece of duct tape over his mouth.

It almost immediately makes him give up, and all he can do is stare at the clock and hope someone comes to rescue him. ]

[ ...

All I'm saying is that the men are fortunate this isn't a CYOA or there'd be a slaughter, like damn.

As it is, he'll just watch this quietly. If this is some sort of previous event or recollection, he has to wonder how Gaku managed to get out of this one.

You know, while glaring at any kidnappers in the room. This is fine. ]

Before He Xuan can wonder for too long, there's a loud knock at the door, loud enough that Gaku jolts up as he's shaken out of his thoughts. ]

Hey, open up! The cops are coming.

[ One of the men watching over Gaku goes to the door and opens it a few inches, peeking out. ]

Who are you?

[ His question isn't answered as he's immediately pushed to the side as the person knocking on the door enters. ]

Tsukumo-san sent us. Someone called the cops! We need to get the goods.

[ Three people walk in, one with green hair, another with shaggy light blue hair, and then the last one with an almost pink-white hair. They're all in sunglasses and they move quickly towards Gaku, who seems to recognize them by the way his eyes light up. ]

[ Their arrival must have been relatively quickly. It is hard to tell the passage of time in viewing of others' memories sometimes, but...he perceives that it couldn't have been too long, right?

If the cops are coming, someone seems to also have cottoned onto where Gaku is. Impressive reaction time and deduction.

Though, there are the suspiciously-dressed folk to content. Yet, despite it all, it seems like Gaku may recognize them?

The almost pink-white hair—surely not a coincidence either. ]

Mmph!

[ It's a good thing that the duct tape is over Gaku's mouth, because he nearly blows the cover of the members of IDOLiSH7—if he had said anything indicating he knew them, it would be over. The green-haired one continues to glide past all of the men's rejections by telling them that there's no time and the cops are about to show up. The other two follow right behind him as all three of them walk over to Gaku and cut his bindings with a box cutter. Gaku does his best to keep a look of confusion on his face so that the men holding him captive don't clue in on what's going on. ]

Get up!

[ The blue and pink haired men lug Gaku up without much resistance from him, but he does try talking to them, muffled words coming out from behind the duct tape.

The men continue to protest Gaku's removal, despite how headstrong the other three are about moving him. But they all come to a standstill when the men pull out knives and point them towards the other four. They all freeze, eyes going wide as the green-haired one steps in front of Gaku and the other two, shielding them from whatever attack may come. ]

Get him out of here!

[ The green-haired one tries his best to get the other two to guide Gaku out of the room again and past the men despite the danger, but the sound of a sword unsheathing behind Gaku and the blue-haired one gets everyone's attention as they look to see what's going on.

And what is going on is the pink-haired one is now brandishing a sword. He Xuan might be able to tell that it's not a real sword at all, but it still looks threatening with the way it's been held, especially when it glints underneath the bright, fluorescent lights. Gaku and the blue-haired one step back in a panic as he readies the sword and one of the men brandishes his knife.

The green-haired one once again jumps between them. ]

Don't trigger him!

[ The pink-haired one lifts up the sword. ]

Don't move.

[ That movement alone is enough to get the men to drop their knives, giving Gaku and his friends enough time to escape. They run through the outdoor mall, stores passing by quickly and adrenaline pumping through all of them. Unfortunately, they're definitely causing enough of a scene that fans recognize them, but a quick shout that they're filming from the blue-haired one seems to placate them... even if it causes confusion.

It certainly doesn't help that the pink-haired one is still clutching onto the sword. Thankfully, at the urging of the blue-haired one, he lets go. It's at that moment a van covered with images of TRIGGER pulls up in front of the four. Two people sit in the front seat, their hair and nails immaculate and their clothes neatly pressed—it's clear that they're also idols themselves.

Looks like the rescue mission ended up working out fine. ]

[ ...Shit's getting real wild when he watches the attempted retrieval of (1) Gaku Yaotome, and then weapons are being brandished.

Is it too much to hope that the original kidnappers are stabbed instead? For a moment he does get his hopes up when he hears a sword being unsheathed—but it is indeed very easy to tell that it's fake. Sadly.

Don't trigger him? Was that supposed to be a code word or something?

Well, it doesn't matter much since the fools believe the act, and soon enough...they get away. Which is honestly what matters in the end. ]

[ The car ride back is quiet, the air simultaneously anxious and sullen. They won't be making it back on time and they all know it. This performance was important, but there's nothing they can do at this point.

Gaku finally breaks the silence. ]

Ryu will sing for the both of us.

But...

[ Gaku smiles, turning back towards the blue-haired guy. ]

He's the strongest man in TRIGGER. He might be gentle and meek, but he's never run from a fight. We believe in him.

[ There's a lot of conviction in his voice, so much so that everyone else believes him. Things may not have ended perfectly, but at least Gaku knows he can rely on Ryu for this.

And thus concludes the memory! ]
