[ It certainly is who he's marrying, but in this moment, Alhaitham can't think of anything he wants more. It helps that he's known Alhaitham for so long, that they've been committed, in some sense, to one another for years. In many ways, nothing will change. Some of his priorities have simply adjusted, that's all.

So Alhaitham takes Kaveh's hand and one of the bands he had found in the hollow book, slipping it gently and tenderly onto his ring finger. His fiance's ring finger. His, all his.

He swallows against a dry throat with the gesture, none of his characteristic wit rising to accompany this moment. There's just something all too...reverent about it, that not even he wishes to interrupt what he's feeling. ]

( Kaveh watches the process from start to finish as Alhaitham picks out one of the rings and then glides it on his finger. Being a romantic, Kaveh has had all sorts of fantasies about love and marriage throughout his life - and to be living through this moment of becoming affianced at long last is so surreal. Once the ring is on his finger, he lifts his hand, admiring the way that it sparkles in the light. It's such a beautiful, simple band - and symbolic for the two of them.

And once his own ring is on, he takes Alhaitham's hand and repeats the process. )

Now it's official. ( He makes a pleased him, glancing up to gaze at the man he's made this lifelong promise to. ) No backing out now, all right? My heart is yours for an eternity.

( Kaveh is confident that he'll love Alhaitham for that long. There's no one else. There's never been anyone else. The blonde man leans up to steal a soft, tender kiss from his now fiancé. )
