a rainy day - 10th

[ Today is supposed to be nice and sunny, and it is on most places throughout the island. Everywhere except the area immediately above Lucia, apparently. Wherever she walks, rain clouds follow up above, and there's a light drizzle that sprinkles down towards her. She doesn't have an umbrella. She just seems to be zoned out, walking to her destination: The library.

She's also trying to look at who's in the area, so as to not get them caught up in the drizzling. She'll make an attempt to swerve out of the way of anyone who's passing by, which looks rather odd. Hm. ]

a teenager - 11th

[ There's a girl, somewhere between 15 and 16 years old, with long red hair roaming around. There are two people who currently fit this description, but the glasses give her away – this is not Diluc, this is Lucia. She's currently sitting under a tree in the shade, somewhere near town, pressing buttons on her phone. There's a disgruntled look on her face. Seems like she can't get something to work.

She ends up looking pretty huffy before she shoves her phone back into her pocket. Then, she rises to her feet and starts speed walking towards the shops. Where is she going...? ]

farming - throughout the month

[ Anyone who's passing by the Lucia-Gentaro forest farm may catch her outside at any given point during the day. She's getting to work on her farm, and there appears to be a small assortment of mushrooms growing! How nice. There's also a small patch of flowers that are also in the process of growing. Seems like things are going decently.

There's also a little calico cat that's roaming around outside, circling around Lucia at times. The cat will let out a little "meow" if she spots a visitor, and trot up to the newcomer. This will alert Lucia, and she'll turn to whoever's at her farm and stand up rather quickly. ]

Loving someone over time. I think getting to know everything about someone before you fully commit to them is more romantic than falling in love the first time you see them. What about you?

No, I agree. I've definitely...been the type to experience love at first sight, and it never worked out.

[ For a number of reasons, most of which are her own inability to act on her feelings, so this is certainly a new experience for her. ]

I don't think I ever gave love a lot of thought until here, though. I think I know what it means to like someone, but loving is a little...different, don't you think?

Yeah, I think so. I've never been in love, but... loving someone is a lot deeper, and requires a high level of commitment. You need to be ready to drop everything if they need you.

[ Though maybe he places too much importance on the feelings, given his own situation back home. He doesn't know for sure. ]

When you put it that way...perhaps I'm more ready for it than I thought...

[ But, potentially, not for the right reasons. Yes, she would drop everything for the person she loves, but it's for better or worse.

Not that she's ready to address that. Her expression looks a little pensive as she mulls things over, then she asks, completely innocuously: ]

I've been giving it a lot of thought, but not yet.

[ She smiles at him, sincerely and genuinely. ]

I put a lot into tonight, but not entirely because I'm trying to impress you so you'd pick me. That might be part of it, because I...yes, I like you, but...

[ She looks at her hands in her lap, still smiling fondly. ]

More than that, I think I'm more invested in seeing you be happy over picking me specifically, so I just want to make that clear. I'd still go the extra mile to make sure you're having a good time hanging out with me, even if we end up just being friends.

[ And she hasn't really felt this way about anyone else, other than her best friend. ]

So...thank you, for being so honest and kind to me all this time. I really appreciate it.

[ He smiles, the look on his face entirely too fond. ]

I appreciate it too, you know. It's a lot to ask for you to be understanding of all of this, so hearing all of that... it makes me feel a lot better.

[ Like a pressure has been released in his chest, loosening up the way he feels. ]

I feel the same, you know. Making sure you're happy is important to me.

Haha...it helps me a lot to hear that, too.

[ She's very relieved. Honestly, hearing his decision will help her even more, no matter which way it goes. ]

To be honest, I know it's weird to say this on a date, but I've realized that I might be in a similar situation, more than I thought I was. So, I understand. I think hearing your situation helped me come to terms with how I've been feeling.

[ He's... actually kind of relieved. Strange how they're both relieved over this sort of thing. He almost wants to laugh. ]

No! No, not at all. I'm just not really used to...discussing these things, I think...

[ She's not used to it at all, tbh. ]

Wouldn't that be hypocritical of me if it did?

[ He might get emotional pretty easily, but he can at least self regulate well enough to not get jealous over this. ]

[ She laughs a little. It's nice that they can just freely talk about this without judgment or resentment. ]

Well, I hope that we'll both figure it out. I think matters of the heart are kind of complicated...

I think we will. I'm not really worried about it, actually.

[ He smiles, the look in his eyes full of affection. ]

I'd like to think we care about each other enough already that we'll be fine with whatever happens.

Of course.

[ She reaches out for his hands and gives them both a gentle squeeze. She doesn't intertwine their fingers; she just wants him to know she means what he says. ]

You're a wonderful friend, Gaku. I wouldn't give that up for anything.

[ He squeezes them back, his smile growing softer. ]

Neither would I. It's pretty rare that I get friends that I know I can count on, so I don't regret coming here to meet you.

Oh...

[ She lets go of his hands, but one of her hands moves up to lightly poke his shoulder. ]

Heh...you're going to make me all emotional again. I'm really glad to have met you, too. You've truly done so much for me, Gaku...thank you.

Have I really? It doesn't feel like it, but I'll take it anyway.

[ His laugh is soft, an affectionate smile on his face. ]

[ She means that, too, with how firmly she says it. ]

I think you might be one of my closest friends, actually.

[ That actually has him taken aback for a moment, but all he can do is smile once the realization sets in. ]

I never really expanded my friend circle outside of my best friend, Aiko. So...it's nice to have more people in it. You must have a pretty solid group yourself, don't you?

I didn't for a long time, since a lot of people wanted to be friends for my money or looks. But I consider my group members close friends, even though we weren't at the start.
