a rainy day - 10th

[ Today is supposed to be nice and sunny, and it is on most places throughout the island. Everywhere except the area immediately above Lucia, apparently. Wherever she walks, rain clouds follow up above, and there's a light drizzle that sprinkles down towards her. She doesn't have an umbrella. She just seems to be zoned out, walking to her destination: The library.

She's also trying to look at who's in the area, so as to not get them caught up in the drizzling. She'll make an attempt to swerve out of the way of anyone who's passing by, which looks rather odd. Hm. ]

a teenager - 11th

[ There's a girl, somewhere between 15 and 16 years old, with long red hair roaming around. There are two people who currently fit this description, but the glasses give her away – this is not Diluc, this is Lucia. She's currently sitting under a tree in the shade, somewhere near town, pressing buttons on her phone. There's a disgruntled look on her face. Seems like she can't get something to work.

She ends up looking pretty huffy before she shoves her phone back into her pocket. Then, she rises to her feet and starts speed walking towards the shops. Where is she going...? ]

farming - throughout the month

[ Anyone who's passing by the Lucia-Gentaro forest farm may catch her outside at any given point during the day. She's getting to work on her farm, and there appears to be a small assortment of mushrooms growing! How nice. There's also a small patch of flowers that are also in the process of growing. Seems like things are going decently.

There's also a little calico cat that's roaming around outside, circling around Lucia at times. The cat will let out a little "meow" if she spots a visitor, and trot up to the newcomer. This will alert Lucia, and she'll turn to whoever's at her farm and stand up rather quickly. ]

[ Shaky voice is a prime example of being fine. Not to mention that he's still staring. He's been in this situation before and directly asking for blood ended up in a quarrel, but...

Noé puts a lot of effort into looking away, his cheeks flushed. ]

[ She hears the way his voice shakes, and sees how his eyes stay on her finger. She frowns a little, and holds her hand up to offer it to him.

She stops midway, though, because she remembers the memory ordeal. She'd like him to continue to have a positive impression of her, but she can't help but feel bad – ]

...Noé, if...if you need to...

[ She pauses and frowns deeply. ]

It's okay, if you want to. Just...you may not look at me the same after, as...as a fair warning.

[ That's the worst. It's not like his life depends on it or anything like that, it's nothing more than just a whim. And Lucia is a nice person, so putting her in this position feels a little bad.

What she says next makes him reach for her wrist and hold it gently as he tries to look into her eyes and not on the drop of blood on her fingertip. ]

There is no memory that would make me look at you differently, Lucia.

[ Something about that makes her heart hurt, and if it's good or bad, she can't tell. All she knows is that she hope Noé won't feel differently afterwards, even if some part of her is convinced he will.

Her hand is shaking as she holds it up towards him. She looks like she might cry.

Even so, she gives him a nod. Go ahead and indulge. ]

Lucia...

[ The next moment, he gives in and wraps his lips around her fingertip. Even if her distressed expression is something Noé can see even after closing his eyes, he just can't ignore the urge easily. There's not much blood in the first place and he's definitely not going to push it further.

Still, it turns out to be enough to see a silhouette of a person and feel warmth spreading across his chest. It's a pleasant feeling that lingers even after Noé pulls away from her. ]

I think I saw... a friend? Your friend.

Oh.

[ Never mind what he's doing, she's more surprised that that's all he saw. ]

Aiko. She's my best friend. It...wasn't anything bad, right?

[ There truly isn't anything bad involving her, really. Lucia is forever grateful to have her in her life. ]

[ Noé shakes his head. ]

It wasn't. I sensed how much you care about her. I didn't even see her clearly.

[ Actually, he sounds a little disappointed that he didn't get to learn more. ]

And... thank you. You didn't have to and yet...

[ Now that she's not bleeding anymore, Lucia feels a little better in taking his hand with both of hers. ]

[ Noé can't stop thinking that she's way too kind for him. ]

Oh, well! She's been my friend since we were children, and she's very upbeat and popular...but also very supportive. She was willing to ditch our school dance just to hang out with me at home.

But...I think, outside of the people I've met here, she's the only person I can truly call a friend. I don't mind so much, though.

If she didn't attend a dance for you, then she must be a good friend.

[ What kind of measure is that? Anyway: ]

Sometimes I think that it would be fun to have a lot of friends. But I'm grateful for every single person who wants to be my friend in the present, so I understand you, I think.

I understand. I'm grateful, too. I used to feel like I needed more friends, but I'm quite happy with the ones I have now.

[ She sits, and stares preparing some of the food to start cooking over the fire. ]

Do you have friends at home, too?

I do! Their names are Domi, Roland and Jean-Jacques! Domi is my closest friend, though.

[ That's it, that's the list. For a moment, Noé hesitates because there is one more friend he hasn't mentioned yet. ]

And... Louis used to be my friend, too.

[ It's still difficult to talk about what happened, but he can't keep it in forever, can he? Especially not after everything that happened before arriving here (spoiler territory, though!!). ]

[ She picks up on that hesitation, and debates whether or not she should ask. She almost feels like it'd be wrong to, like it'd be an invasion of his privacy. But he wouldn't have mentioned it if he didn't want her to say anything, she supposes.

She takes her chances. ]

Did something happen between you two?

[ Despite not knowing what to say at first, Noé's truly grateful that Lucia asked about Louis. Almost no one knew he existed and it hurts. ]

Yes. He was a dear friend, but he's no longer alive.

[ There's no point in sharing the gruesome details. For a moment, Noé ponders how to approach the subject of Louis' request. ]

He... he asked me to do something for him. And I couldn't do it... and now he's gone.

Oh...

[ What does she say to this? She's not used to comforting other people, but the look in Noé's eyes says a lot. Louis must have been really important to him, and it makes her chest hurt, seeing Noé's expression.

She moves to sit next to him. ]

I'm...I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know what that something might've been, but I'm here to support you, in whatever way you'd like.

It's alright. I probably shouldn't have said anything.

[ Bringing the mood down definitely wasn't his intention, even though he expected that to happen the moment he mentioned Louis. ]

It's just... he was Domi's twin brother. And sometimes it feels like we're the only ones who care about him.

No, I'm glad you told me about this.

[ It's a sign of trust, and she wants him to feel comfortable discussing things with her. ]

What was he like? I want to know.

[ His expression softens after hearing Lucia's words, she's truly too kind. ]

He was smart and enjoyed teasing me a lot. When I needed it, he comforted me. [ At that moment, an image of the wooden stakes flashes in front of his eyes, but he shakes his head. No, that's not how he wants to remember Louis. ] He was very gentle, even though his family mostly pretended that he doesn't exist.

[ It's left unsaid, but Noé can't ignore the similarities between Lucia and Louis. Some vampires might fear the Archivistes and their abilities, yet it's nothing compared to what a curse-bearer has to go through. It's bittersweet, but he thinks that Lucia and Louis would be very good friends. ]

Everyone has their own story. It would be nice if we could understand each other on a deeper level, but sometimes it's impossible. But I want to get to know you better, Lucia. And understand as much as I can.

[ The island doesn't seem like a dangerous place, but at that moment he realizes that he would do anything in his might to protect her if it came to that. ]

[ He says that, and (since this is pre-birthday) she frowns a little and looks ashamed, for some reason. She hums, thinking about something, then: ]

I...I don't think I'm particularly interesting. There's not a whole lot to learn, I don't think. But...if you'd like to know anything in particular, you can ask.

[ Then, she lets out a sheepish little laugh. ]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to drag the mood down.

[ Noé tilts his head to the side, surprised to hear that from Lucia. Sure, her expression seems different and the chuckle sounds a little nervous, but Noé wonders if she's not overthinking it. ]
