dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

--Oh.
[ He looks at his hands, then back at Noé. ]
Are you sure? I am...afflicted right now.
no subject
[ He looks at Trahearne from head to toe. Well, he looks a bit more green than others (a bit), but he doesn't see anything wrong with that. ]
Does it prevent you from celebrating? Maybe we should look for the Goddess? She might have a cure.
no subject
[ In a demonstration, Trahearne reaches to put his hand on a nearby chair. And when he lifts it, there is a very glittery handprint left where he touched.
Sheepishly, he looks at Noé. ]
So long as you don't mind glitter.
no subject
[ His gaze shifts from Trahearne to the chair and back to him. ]
Is it going to be the same if you touch my hand?
[ Noé takes his hand in his own without any shame and watches his gloves get covered with glitter. ]
The goddess is so powerful. I don't mind it, don't worry. Can you dance, by the way?
no subject
If you say so. [ That still makes him feel bad, but if he doesn't mind, then! ]
But no, not like this. You'll have to lead me, I'm afraid.
no subject
[ Noé offers him a reassuring smile before guiding them both to a spot that's less crowded, though it's easier said than done, considering how many people are here to celebrate the Flower Festival. ]
I will lead so just follow me and enjoy yourself.
no subject
[ Trahearne smiles in turn, and duly follows Noé to their dancing spot. He...will try his best to enjoy himself, and not embarrass Noé by extension.
First things first, though-- ]
May I have your name?
no subject
[ Thankfully, the music hasn't started playing yet, so they should be able to exchange names without interruptions. ]
Have you ever participated in such a festival before? I have to admit it's my first time.
no subject
[ It is! He can think of far worse places and situations to meet people. ]
I have been to my fair share of festivals and celebrations, but I can't say I've attended a dance before, no. [ He tilts his head with a little smile. ] I suppose this will be new for the both of us.
no subject
[ Passionate about sweets and dancing, that's him. The first sounds of the instruments reach his ears, so he tightens his grip on Trahearne's hand and waist before taking a first step and waiting for the other to follow. ]
no subject
I have, and they looked delicious. I wouldn't mind joining you after this dance.
[ He glances up briefly to smile at Noé, then looks back down again. ]
no subject
Don't worry if you step on me, I've stepped on so many toes that I've lost count.
no subject
But when Noé does speak up, he takes it as a sign to stop doing that, and his gaze lifts to meet the other's. He smiles. ]
All right. I appreciate the encouragement.
[ For a brief moment, Trahearne quietly concentrates on following Noé. ]
Did you dance much where you come from?
no subject
I did! I attended a couple of dance parties. Have you ever heard of France? And where are you from, by the way?
[ Please bear with him, he's trying not to ask 238458 questions a minute at least... settling to just two (for now). ]
no subject
I see--no wonder you can lead so well. [ That much is true. It's going smoothly, all things considered.
But it's still taking up most of Trahearne's concentration. ]
I am from a place called Tyria, and--I'm sorry, where did you say you're from?
no subject
Tyria? I've never heard of it, but it's such a nice name. What kind of place is it? [ A beat. ] I'm from France.
no subject
It is certainly not as peacef-- Oh-- [ He momentarily stumbles over himself, gripping Noé a little tighter to keep upright. No stumbles, luckily. ] --Not as peaceful as Crescentview.
[ He smiles apologetically. ] I hope France is like this.
[ The name rings a bell for reasons that are beyond him (he's thinking of French kissing on his card). ]
no subject
Not as peaceful as Crescentview might mean a lot of things, so he takes a moment to ponder if he should ask any additional questions. ]
I don't believe there are many places as peaceful as this one. Do you miss home? I miss France sometimes, actually.
[ He's an expert in French kissing... which in his mind is just kissing by someone from France. Legit. ]
no subject
He agrees, though. There are very few places as peaceful as Crescentview. ]
I do. [ His answer comes readily and with a bright smile. For a second, he thinks about elaborating.
...But the question really sticks in his mind. ]
--I'm sorry, I have never known a place named France, yet it brings bells. [ He frowns... This is strange. Explain, Noé. ]
no subject
Does it?
[ Can you hear the gears turning. He's giving it a thought, where could he hear about France before... the silence lingers for quite a while and the song comes to an end when it finally strikes him: ]
Oh, it must be the French kiss. Do you have that on your card?
no subject
And Trahearne falls still as the music ends, watching Noé as the gears turn in his head. His hands almost drop from their hold on him when Noé finally speaks up. ]
Yes, that's it! [ It makes sense now! He lights up in recognition. ] I do have it on my card--would you happen to know what that is?
[ Surely the French person would know?? ]
no subject
[ He's a virgin, I'm so sorry. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. Or maybe he's just unknowingly cheating the system. ]
I can help with that!
no subject
That's quite narrow, don't you think?
[ Will all who have French kissing squares have to kiss Noé, then?
After a moment, Trahearne shifts awkwardly as he pulls out his card, glances at the unmarked square, then back to Noé. ]
You...don't mind if I kiss you, then?
no subject
I won't. Just go ahead!
[ What a helpful little guy. ]
1/2
All right. ...Here I go.
[ With a hand, he cups Noé's jaw and leans in to tentatively press their lips together, letting it linger. Like it will mark harder the longer it lasts.
Eventually he pulls back, glances down at his card... ]
