dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

dantsing
When approached, his face lights up, and a smile crosses his face. ]
Commander! I was hoping to see you here.
[ He stands a little taller. ]
I have something for you.
no subject
You have something for me? [That's unexpected. He didn't hear about any gift exchanges...]
no subject
[ Trahearne pulls his hands out from behind his back to reveal a small bundle of pink and blue forget-me-nots. He hands it to Syrlya. ]
They were exquisite this morning. I thought you might like them.
no subject
[She smiles as he peeks at Trahearne from over the buds. How flattering.] You haven't spent the whole dance in this corner, have you?
no subject
No.
[ His eyes dart to the side, to the other corner he was in not long ago. Technically, he's telling the truth. He's spent it in at least two corners. ]
no subject
Well, why don't you dance with me anyway. I could use another partner.
no subject
Only if you insist. I must warn you--I will likely trip over myself. Or you.
no subject
no subject
With a smile, Trahearne takes his offered hand (that now has glitter on it, oops) and steps forward to stand beside him. ]
After you.
no subject
no subject
Is that what you take me for, Commander? [ He teases. ] Of course not. It's much too early.
[ And he gives Syrlya a pointed look. Even though he knows it might help with the dancing... He'll at least wait until later. ]
no subject
[As the reach an empty spot on the floor, he turns on his heels to face Trahearne and stops.]
no subject
[ He already feels less apprehensive about dancing itself, even though he's not particularly happy about being among all these people. Regardless, a smile crosses his face as he steps forward and raises their joined hands. ]
Shall we?
[ And he spins Syrlya! He is the perfect spinning height. ]
no subject
[With Trahearne, though, he doesn't pull him into anything structured--no, they can step and twirl just exactly as it feels right, not unlike celebrating Zhaitan's demise. There is again a sort of relief this time, to be able to feel Trahearne after so long.]
no subject
It's nice to have Syrlya's presence, too, though it hasn't nearly been as long for Trahearne. It's nice to have him here without the underlying anxiety of an impending dragon assault.
It's also nice to dance as sylvari should. None of this structured human stuff.
After a spin, Trahearne greets Syrlya with a smile. ]
It's been such a long time.
no subject
So I hope you don't plan to hide from the crowd for the rest of the night.
no subject
[ Pragmatic, as always. But there is a tease in his voice. ]
no subject
no subject
Very well. [ He spins, and when he faces Syrlya again, there's a sly smile on his face. ] I dance with five, and you help me with a bingo square of my choosing. And if I fail to meet your conditions--
[ He pauses. ]
--Then you choose.
no subject
Very well. Five more dances and I will do any task on your card that you want. Fail, and you do whichever I ask.
[So either way they do a bingo, huh?]
no subject
[ Honestly, if he's being extremely honest with himself... He would not mind doing any of his squares with Syrlya. Will he have the courage to ask, though? Probably not. He will continue to keep distance and have "standards."
He extends a hand to shake on it, and when he looks down, memory comes back to him. ]
--Oh! That's right. I'm meant to give this to you.
[ He removes from his wrist one of the flower corsages, the one meant for Syrlya, and gestures for Syrlya's hand. ]
no subject
Oh! [His expression lights up and he releases Trahearne's hand to hold his out (huh, where did that glitter come from?) to receive the corsage.] It's lovely. What's the occasion?
no subject
[ Trahearne doesn't give it to Syrlya--instead, he takes the opportunity to fit it over Syrlya's wrist instead, carefully adjusting it as he does. ]
Kaspar made them for us. I think he was excited about the dance.
no subject
Well, I like it. I'll be sure to keep it safe the rest of the night. Did he use a lot of glitter?
no subject
[ Trahearne tilts his head curiously. Strange--there's glitter on his corsage as well, and on Syrlya's hand? He looks down at himself and-- ]
Oh. [ As a test, he wipes a hand on his leg, leaving a trail of glitter behind. ] I think it's me.
[ Huh. How did that happen?? ]
