dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

2; probably later in the evening for continuities sake
[Owen and Mira have talked only once before, but it was enough to put them on his radar. He wants to see Mira squirm, or see if he can truly crack that placid exterior…]
no subject
Yeah, they remember him. They should tell him no and just leave, but instead, they nod. They're cautious, and it shows on their face, but he shouldn't be too surprised, right? ]
I guess so.
no subject
Well? Are you going to accept? It's good practice, unless you're not the sort who wants to improve yourself.
no subject
I'll accept. [ ... ] I never got your name. I'm Mira.
no subject
[A nice, normal name for a nice, normal wizard.]
Now, let's get this over with.
[And it's time to drag Mira into a dance!]
no subject
[ They wish they knew better how to dance. There's something about Owen that makes them not want to defer to him in any way, but they don't want to make a total fool of themselves when he could use it as ammo.
So... they rest their hand on his shoulder. It's a shock, like diving into freezing water, just how cold he is. It's unnerving, but they don't pull their hand away or anything like that. They'rejust waiting for him to take the lead. ]
no subject
[He's smiling through the whole conversation, as if what he's saying is as pleasant and mild as commenting on how lovely the weather is.
He doesn't hesitate to take the lead, only half-concerned with Mira being able to keep up as he starts something closer to a quick two-step then a slow waltz.]
Unless you enjoy my company that much?
no subject
[ They're on edge, stiff in his arms, but at the very least, a quick enough learner. It's a much different experience than when Tartaglia had danced with them.
That part doesn't matter much, though. Owen radiates the exact type of energy that Mira's wary of. It's not just that he'd annoyed them. It unsettles them just how much he can read them. ]
Considering our initial meeting, that question is a bit unnecessary, isn't it?
no subject
[It’s as simple as that, right? Wrong.]
Or they seek out something reprehensible, that will make them feel so incredibly terrible, to punish themselves for their unforgivable sins. Maybe you’re interested in using my presence to absolve yourself through turmoil.
no subject
Still, their expression remains unmoving. ]
Hm. What are my "unforgivable sins," since you're so sure of yourself?
[ They're just digging themselves deeper, but when have they ever turned down an opportunity to make things harder? ]
no subject
[He leans down, lips against Mira’s ear.]
But I imagine it involves the divine punishment you were so preoccupied with and the gods you seem to despise… Maybe you found a way to touch something mortals thought untouchable?
[When in doubt, assume murder.]
no subject
You're wrong.
[ They say that, but there's color in their cheeks and their hands shake. They push away from him, ignoring the tight feeling in their chest and the stirring that accompanies it. Without another word, they leave. ]
no subject
[Oh, they're leaving. Time to follow, though Owen looks much more relaxed and casual as he does.]
If that's the case, why are you running? Afraid someone may fight out the truth of what you really are?
no subject
You have no idea what you're talking about. I suggest leaving before I do something we both regret.
[ It's rising, that feeling inside them. Their ears ring. They know this is what happens when they get too emotional and lose their grip. There's nothing they hate more than this--than giving in and letting the thing inside them swallow that part of them. ]
no subject
[He's pushing it, he knows. He's seen expressions like that before, but that's what he's interested in. It's what he wants to see, but he also still wants more. He wants to see them snap, and see just what they do.
Maybe they'll kill him - or try to, at least. That strength they seem to have is probably enough to snap his neck, but would that be their method of choice...?
Or maybe he's getting ahead of himself.]
Why don't you illuminate me?
no subject
He sounds faraway, muffled, and Mira whirls around, away from Owen. Pressing a hand over their eyes, they manage to choke out-- ]
Shut up. [ They look over their shoulder, grey eyes turned gold, because he's a threat, you need to get rid of him before it's too late-- ] Leave me alone!
no subject
And go back to that boring dance? This is far more entertaining.
[Hah.]
Why don’t you just let go? What’s the worst that could happen?
[“What are you gonna do, kill me?”
-Quote from man killed.]
no subject
They snap. In the blink of an eye, they're on him, grasping the front of his shirt. If Owen wanted them to let go, he's gotten his wish. Beneath the grey of their eyes, there's that gold again, making their eyes brighter. Unnatural--that's what it is. Their face might be the same, but there's a distinct lack of emotion.
Mira's always had some fraction of warmth to them, but now? Cold, biting, inhuman. They say nothing as they toss Owen to the ground, almost like a ragdoll. Again, with that abnormal speed, they straddle him and pin his wrists to the ground.
It could easily be mistaken for something more intimate. They both know that is not what this is, especially as their hands glow softly. Now, there's no heat, but... ]
Are you sure you want to keep pushing? [ they ask flatly, staring unblinkingly down at him. ]
