mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ Ellis was on his way to Gaku's house until he sees Gaku outside with a basket of flowers and then says that. What. What the heck. I hope Gaku gets a wave of embarrassment as he waits for Ellis to finish writing on his notepad. ]

Did you want to be a cat too?

[associative]

[ Yeah, the embarrassment just mounts and mounts until his face turns red as he waits for Ellis to finish writing. ]

...No... nya.

[framestory]

[ He's seemingly writing on his notepad again, but when he turns it to show Gaku, it's just a drawing of a very simple Gaku-head with cat ears. Nya. ]

[associative]

What the hell, nya?

[ He rips Ellis' notepad out of his hands and starts walking back towards his house. Bye. ]

[framestory]

[ Hey?? Ellis runs and hops onto Gaku's back, latching onto him like a koala. Give it back!! ]

[associative]

[ His now! He's just going to keep walking back to his house normally. Rest in pieces, Ellis. ]

[framestory]

[ Guess Ellis is just latching onto Gaku the whole way there. Maybe He Xuan can be spared from seeing this scene. ]

[associative]

[ Good thing He Xuan is out! Probably.

Regardless, Gaku doesn't stop until he deposits Ellis on the kitchen counter and throws the notepad back at him. ]

[framestory]

[ Ellis lets go when deposited on the kitchen counter and squeaks when the notepad is thrown at his face. Maybe Gaku didn't mean for it to hit his face, but Ellis moved. Well, he's at Gaku's house now, eyeing the familiar painting of He Xuan and the numerous plastic babies throughout the house... ]

[associative]

[ At least the plastic babies have mostly been cleaned up... but there were so many of them that there are definitely some still scattered in odd spots.

It's quite the contrast when everything else is so nice and homey.

Gaku shoots Ellis a glare before handing over a glass of water. ]

[framestory]

[ Why is he being glared at? He's right! Ellis takes the glass of water anyway while lightly kicking his legs in the air and drinks. ]

[associative]

[ Ugh that's cute and he's so pissed off that it's cute. Gaku glares at him before sighing deeply. ]

You still pissed... nya?

[framestory]

[ NOT ANYMORE! Ellis laughs because the "nyas" are absolutely killing him even if he can't hear them. But yeah, he shakes his head no. His mood is definitely "i'm too busy laughing to be pissed off at you right now". ]

[associative]

[ The moment Ellis sets down the glass of water, Gaku immediately grabs his chin in his hand and smooshes his mouth with his fingers. ]

Still funny now? Nya?

[framestory]

[ Ellis nods, still laughing.

Suffer. ]

[associative]

[ Gaku lets go before pinching Ellis' nose and walking away. Goodbye, he's going to the living room now to sulk. ]

[framestory]

[ He squeaks when his nose is pinched. When Gaku leaves to the living room, Ellis first gets himself some more water, drinks it, sets the cup on the counter, and goes to the living room, seeing Gaku sit on the couch.

He runs and practically jumps on Gaku. Hope no one hit their head on something hard. ]

[associative]

[ Thankfully, there are no objects around that could cause someone to hit their head, so Ellis lands safely in his lap.

Which is unfortunately not good for Gaku's heart, his cheeks turning a light pink as he avoids eye contact. ]

...?

[framestory]

[ Well.

Ellis looks at Gaku even if he isn't looking at him. Hey, pretty boy. You come here often? He giggles a little and makes himself comfortable on Gaku's lap. ]

[associative]

[ You know what? Ellis deserves to be flustered back, so Gaku gets over himself and instead stares at him as if he's attempting to memorize every feature of Ellis' face. ]

[framestory]

[ There's really nothing surprising about Ellis's face. His face was pale, but has been getting a slightly healthier tone with how much he's been outside lately. His eyes are emerald green—so normal that people would think they originally came with the package instead of being a replacement. His face is soft and a tad on the feminine side, which helps him appear friendly all the time as opposed to Gaku's resting bitch face syndrome. Ellis is thin, but not to the point his cheeks have sunk in. He looks pretty healthy now.

Ellis slightly tilts his head, wondering why Gaku is staring at him so much. He wonders if he should fluster him again while he's so focused, so he wraps his arms around his neck. ]

[associative]

[ Oh... that's embarrassing. It almost flusters him, but he's determined to keep his cool, his gaze still even and stuck on Ellis.

Still, it really is a shame that staring didn't work on Ellis. At least he was able to make a few important observations. ]

You look better these days... nya.

[framestory]

[ Ellis has gotten a bit bolder lately, but his mischief has also risen alongside that. Who knows if that's a good thing...

But he doesn't know what Gaku means by that, so he slightly tilts his head. Did he look horrible before? Not exactly, but he definitely looks better now. ]

[associative]

You're healthier, nya.

[ And you know what? He'll up the ante, putting his hand on his waist. ]

You looked nice before, but you look a lot better now... nya.

[ God. This ruins everything he says. Whatever!! ]
