mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[Honestly van Zieks is just going to watch this, frowning slightly, because what the fuck. What the fuck!! Have the cats learned agriculture!! How is this happening.]

[ The cats merely know how to put stuff here and there and get rewarded. The "leader" of the pack, it seems, a white european shorthair cat with green eyes toddles up to van Zieks and meows in a "aaaaa" sort of way, and very loud too. He even stands and tries to balance himself on van Zieks's leg. No clawing though. ]

[Hm. Well. van Zieks looks around a moment. Confirms no one is watching. Then bends over so he can skitch the handsome little animal.]

Hah, aren't you the friendly one?

[framestory]

[ Myaaaa. Ellis nuzzles against van Zieks's hand and purrs also pretty loudly. He scampers off once that's done though, and brings back an apple held by the top stem, holding it up to van Zieks. ]

[Oh??? A gift??? He's suprised.]

[A cat is giving him a gift??? Now. Hold on. Van Zieks is remembering magic is real here.]

Wait. Who are you?

[framestory]

[ Ellis looks up at van Zieks and goes "myaaaa" again. Good thing there's dirt below it, so the cat tries to write: "Ellis" in the dirt with his paw. ]

[Honestly he was about to chastize himself for arriving at such a ridiculous conclusion, but then.]

... Mr. Ellis. Why are you a cat?

[ myaaaa

Ellis erases what he previously wrote on the dirt and writes: "magic". ]

[Not that he's really equipped to help.]

[ Ellis scrawls "im ok" in the dirt and nuzzles van Zieks's ankle. Let him be affectionate to you in this kitty form.

Also because Ellis thinks that will make him feel less awkward. ]

[ Ellis myaaas at van Zieks very loudly as if to protest. He's been looking up at van Zieks's face the entire time too, so just imagine this white cat that never stops staring at you no matter what it does...

He stands on his hind legs to lean against the leg as if he's asking to be carried with another loud myaaaaa. ]

[ Ellis doesn't claw at van Zieks's leg, but he pats it with his paw instead. Myaaa. Don't be a pussy, van Zieks. ]

[ Ellis doesn't wiggle and is very compliant when van Zieks picks him up. He loudly myaaas again and the rumbling from the purring is so prominent that he might as well be a cat-shaped massager. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ]
