dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

konoe
This place is a fucking dump. I need to get these done as soon as possible.
[ She glares at her bingo card. But then again, glaring seems to be the norm for her face. ]
no subject
It's not... terrible, I don't think.
[He's also wearing heeled boots with a bit of a platform, but those only get him up to 5'8 and a point of contention as he's quite small for his species. His tail twitches in annoyance simply because she's taller than him and that's unexpected when the female Ribika are so short and delicate. He feels inferior and as if this new territory is being invaded though he's laid no claim to it and it belongs to Danielle too, technically. Konoe's currently inspecting the strange object on the wall, the landline telephone, awkwardly batting at the curled plastic cord dangling down; he can't help himself.]
What is this for?
no subject
It's a landline phone. Something you can use to communicate with someone as long as you know their special code. [ phone numbers ]
The holes on the roof have got to go by the time it rains. At least I don't have to fix it myself...
[ She continues muttering to herself and then turns to Konoe. ]
Hey, you got that card right? This.
[ She pulls out her bingo card. ]
Let's do the easiest shit first.
no subject
[The telephone explanation has him assuming it functions like a magical object and the 'code' is a spell of some sort. He's accidentally cast a few of them, so it shouldn't be too difficult should he need to use it. He doesn't reply, as she's already on about the roof. Konoe looks up at the holes, having some idea how to take care of them.]
Um, yes...
[Thoughts of the roof get shoved aside for a moment as he pulls his card out. This takes place before Syrlya read it to him, so he doesn't know what's on it. It's useless to him, and he hands it to Danielle. She seems very straightforward and like she might get annoyed if he protests too much, something he doesn't want to argue over right now. But irritation simmers.]
Oh, about the roof, we can find mud or clay, and dry out some grass to fix it.
[He says it like that's very helpful.]
no subject
Okay, after taking a look at the bingo card, it looks like they share handholding, and that's super easy to do. ]
It's fine, we don't need to find mud or clay. Specialists can fix it for us with better quality if we do the tasks on this card. Did you read the pamphlet?
no subject
No... It's too difficult to read.
[It's scribbles.]
But if we do something on the magic squares, the roof gets fixed? What's on there?
[The latter question sounds suspicious, because Konoe doesn't trust anything about this whole deal yet.]
no subject
Yeah, and we get a whole bunch of other things done too. Let me read them out loud to you.
[ And here, Danielle lists all the squares on Konoe's bingo. ]
I have handholding too, so we can just do that one. It'll be easy.
no subject
... Okay. Now?
[He assumes she means now, so they can fix the roof maybe. Eying the phone cord again, he tears himself away from that temptation and approaches Danielle with his hand outstretched.]
This is weird, though.
[He ear twitches, and something inside him still feels nervous and irritated about handholding.]
no subject
[ Danielle reaches out to hold Konoe's hand. After several seconds of handholding, that particular square will be stamped. ]
The pamphlet read that the more things we do, the better our land will be, along with the house. Some of these will be easy like right now and I understand the others will be on the side of "like hell I'm doing that". Just don't stress yourself--you don't need to have sex for the sake of land improvement.
no subject
Don't just say things like that so blatantly.
[The land can lay fallow for all he's concerned, or he'd like to say so, but it's not true. Not if people starve.]
We can do some of this without this magic, you know. We shouldn't just do what they say...
no subject
Why? I'd rather get this done with minimal effort. If you don't feel like doing anything, I'll carry you.
[ Wait... he might not get that. ]
I mean, I'll get things done so you don't have to worry about losing the pride of being bossed around or whatever.
no subject
[He'd like to think he isn't that prideful, but...]
We don't know the true intentions, and relying on the magic of this world might come with consequences.
no subject
[ Danielle gets Konoe being wary, but to her, it's just magic. The goddess is telling them to do these things, so why would they suffer consequences if they just do what they're told? Having dealt with existences similar to gods really just... she's tired, man. ]
Wanna look at other farms? I'm sure there are others who are in the same position as we are.
no subject
Like... taking your soul or-
[But she's on to other things.]
Hnnn. Fine. It couldn't hurt to see if maybe someone has been here longer.
[And if they still have souls.]
no subject
[ Let her try to logically deduce this. Anyway, Danielle is leading him out the house so that they can tour the island. ]
no subject
[Konoe has more reasons too, but he doesn't think Danielle will listen to them. He debates with himself for a moment whether he should follow, but he can't let her go alone in the end, and quickly catches up.]
no subject
[ lol.
Danielle goes to the other farms in the forest, inspecting their quality and all. Some of their houses look decent and the fields are too. ]
no subject
[But he will, if he needs to. The forest gets more wary looks from Konoe, as the subtle differences with his own natural environment throw him off. Focusing on the farms are best for now, and he spends more time looking at the fields and crops than the houses. His priorities will learn towards tending their own food supply instead of fixing the farm.]
no subject
I guess they're somewhere else for now.
[ So Konoe can't assess their loss of soul. ]
no subject
Or they've gone home.
[He doesn't think they have, but it's nice to entertain that possibility as they check out the nearby farms.]
So... if this magic works, the roof should be patched when we return?
no subject
Yeah. It probably gets patched when we're not looking... somehow.
[ Magic, man. Danielle looks around some more. ]
The rural part of the island is pretty close. Wanna look over there too?
no subject
Might as well. We should know where everything is in this weird place.
[Konoe keeps an eye out for wild growing grasses and other edible plants, or presumed edible, and will bring a bundle of them back to test.]
no subject
... The contrast couldn't be any clearer. Wow.
no subject
no subject
Danielle turns around when she doesn't get a response and sees Konoe out in one of the fields where the sprinklers are. She goes over to the area, but stayed some distance from Konoe in case he wants it. ]
Oi... if you're thirsty, you could have just said so.
