With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ but tighnari can only chuckle, and shake his head. it's not the first time that tighnari has thought cyno clouded by his feelings for him - he certainly lets tighnari get away with far more than he should - but that's the nature of the beast, he supposes. that's what happens, when you care deeply about someone. ]

Well then, let's do what we can. And if you get uncomfortable.. just say so, okay? I don't want anything to come between what we already have.

[ whether or not they go forward with a relationship.. well, that remains to be seen, but tighnari wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize their close friendship. ]

I most certainly don't. I just trust you.

[ At this point, Cyno realizes that he's much more talkative and effusive than usual. Well, all things considered, Tighnari's arrival is a very welcome one. ]

Aren't you too fussy about this bingo thing?

[ When he gets the chance to examine it, Cyno understands why Tighnari kept reassuring him. It's not like his own tasks don't involve sexual activities, though. ]

Sharing a bed should be easy enough. We can do it right away.

Me? Fussy? It's like you don't know me at all.

[ tighnari teases, before he's carefully beginning to tug his clothing back into place again, up and over his spiderweb wounds. ]

I can't say I'm exactly thrilled to try some of these things with perfect strangers, no, but there's also.. a hole in the roof there that I'm not thrilled about, either.

[ sharing a bed it is, then. tighnari scoots back a little bit to make some room, opening up the blanket. ]

With you, I won't mind these tasks so much.

[ Cyno doesn't continue their little conversation until he's under the blanket, laying next to Tighnari, his gaze focused on him. ]

Wait until you see how the other rooms look like. [ Absolutely terrible, that's what. ] I'm sure we can make it a nice place to live, though.

[ For some reason, just looking at Tighnari isn't enough for Cyno, who still cannot believe that he's actually here. It takes just a few moments for his fingers to find Tighnari's hand and try to lace them together. ]

I have things like that on my card, too. I thought of them as an issue, but they don't seem that way anymore.

[ cyno lies down beside him, both of them bundled beneath the blanket, and despite tighnari's agitation, he also feels.. at ease. were he here alone he would be fine, of course, but having cyno nearby makes it all easier. cyno is his anchor in a stormy sea, always, and having him here will be a boon.

and it isn't long before cyno's hand is reaching for his own. tighnari's cheeks dust a light pink, but he doesn't pull away, the thickened pads of his fingers smoothing over cyno's knuckles. ]

No, they don't. [ a beat. ] What are you thinking, Cyno?

[ That light, affectionate gesture turns out to be more than enough to make his cheeks flush. For a moment, Cyno debates whether he should speak openly about his thoughts, though as far as he knows, he might just say something they both know. ]

I can't shake off this feeling of guilt. We have our responsibilities back in Sumeru and people who need us. [ Cyno squeezes his hand gently and scoots a little bit closer to Tighnari. ] But I can't deny that I've been fanstasizing about us living together.

[ Now that fantasy has become a reality, he feels like a lost child. ]

[ tighnari is quick to shake his head. ]

You don't have anything to feel guilty about, Cyno. None of this is your fault. I know you'd return home to your responsibilities if you could.

[ tighnari certainly knows cyno well enough to know that he is a man of great dedication and loyalty, willing to cast aside his own happiness in order to do what he feels is right. if he could, tighnari is sure that cyno would take himself back to sumeru immediately, and return to his work, to their archon. ]

And I've thought about it too, you know. Of course I have.

So would you.

[ He can't even imagine the chaos in Grandharva Ville right now. Collei might be able to sort things out, but without Tighnari's guidance, it may take a longer while. ]

I want to go back. But I don't want to... rush things.

[ If anything, he could propose to Tighnari right here (even if just thinking about it makes the blush spread to the tips of his ears) and after harvesting their crops, they could just go back. It all sounds so simple, but Cyno doesn't think it's right. ]

I want to do everything properly.

[ yeah.. tighnari is trying not to think about the state of the forest rangers right about now, but collei has trained for this, and they're all very capable rangers. they'll be fine, in the end. ]

Properly?

[ hmm. tighnari looks thoughtful. he.. thinks he understands. rushing blindly forward into something so important feels wrong, even if it means getting themselves home more quickly. would it be worth the cost, to potentially damage their relationship, and ruin all of their important milestones? tighnari's pragmatic side tells him of course it will be worth it. they need to get home, even if it means making personal sacrifices.

but that's not the only little voice in his head. carefully, tighnari weaves their fingers together. ]

I think Sumeru will be fine without us, for awhile. Things are finally beginning to settle down, and the archon is free.

I'm not vain enough to think that Sumeru will cease to exist just because I'm not there. I just...

[ This is what happens when you devote yourself to work. With his duties taken away, Cyno has way too much to overthink, apparently. Since he's struggling with expressing himself properly, he tries another angle: ]

There are other people from Teyvat here, too. And from other worlds I haven't ever heard of.

[ He can't imagine forming a bond as strong as the one he already has with Tighnari with anyone else, no matter where they're from. Rather than saying that, he moves closer yet again, their foreheads touching now. ]

Without you here, I wouldn't even stand a chance to even get back, I think.

[ tighnari's brows fly high. people from.. other worlds? that's quite a revelation, isn't it? does that mean that this place is.. not of teyvat? not of their world? they were somehow pulled so far? just the thought of it is dizzying..

but cyno anchors him again, as always, with the press of their foreheads together. tighnari exhales softly. ]

You sell yourself short. [ he chuckles. ] You're a lovely person to know, Cyno, I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to help you, once you show them what you've shown me.

[ with his free hand, tighnari settles his palm against cyno's chest, right over his heart. ]

But regardless, I am here now, so you don't need to worry about it.

[ He's given it a thought and without his reputation as General Mahamatra didn't follow him here, it would probably be much easier to connect with people. The thing is, everytime he thought about making it work somehow, his thoughts always wandered off to Tighnari. ]

I'm sure you're going to be very popular from day one.

[ Cyno's eyes linger on Tighnari's ears for a moment before their gazes meet again. People would be blind if they didn't notice how smart and charming Tighnari is. ]

Actually, I might be looking forward to... learning how to be more selfish.

[ he sees that ear-glance, mister!! ]

Well, I'm not terribly interested in getting to know people, you know I'm not very good at friends.

[ tighnari was popular at the akademiya, sure, but tighnari never considered any of his peers friends. not really. acquaintances, fellows, sure, and later, colleagues, but cyno is really his only friend. and tighnari has always been just fine with that. he doesn't want to be friends with people who only want to get close with him because he's different, exotic. ]

But I'll do my best. [ smiling, tighnari's thumb draws gentle circles against cyno's bare skin. ] And I'm glad to hear that, it's about time you were a little more selfish.

[ The house won't get fixed by itself, though. If they're going to stay here for quite a while, a compromise is necessary. ]

You and me both.

[ Cyno has two hands and one of them is currently free, so he reaches to gently pet Tighnari's ear. This is what being a little more selfish is about, right? ]

So should you, Nari. I wasn't just talking about myself.

Well, I think I'm plenty selfish already, but..

[ he chuckles, and when that hand lifts to begin rubbing his ear, tighnari hums and softly purrs, closing his eyes. he really shouldn't be so calm right now, all things considered, but cyno is here, and tighnari trusts him fully. it'll be all right. ]

I'll do my best, hmm?

[ even if he's not sure what being selfish entails, just yet. if it means lying in bed with cyno, cuddled close, then.. well, he can certainly afford to be a little more selfish. he nudges their noses together. ]

[ It's tempting to ask Tighnari how being selfish and spending almost all of his free time leading the forest watchers, filling numerous reports, or doing research are connected. However, the joy of having him here makes him forget about teasing. ]

I know you will. But I'll start.

[ When they're laying so close to each other, all Cyno has to do is to find a good angle before pressing his lips against Tighnari's in a somewhat tentative kiss. ]

[ cyno leans in, and tighnari feels himself tense up, his heart climbing up into his mouth. they've come close to this before, when first admitting their feelings, but.. they'd never quite allowed themselves the privilege of a kiss. why would they, when they couldn't be together? things are different now, apparently, but still, he's nervous..

but it's just cyno. he doesn't have anything to be afraid of. tighnari closes his eyes and tips his chin upwards, pressing gently back into the kiss, his fingers in cyno's grasping a little more tightly, his pulse spiking in excitement. cyno's lips feel warm, rough and sun-cracked - tighnari will have to prepare some balms for him - and nice against his own. ]

Mm.. [ he hums, and drops his voice low, a whisper between their mouths. ] A good way to be selfish.

I'm glad I got your approval.

[ When they agreed not to pursue a relationship given their lifestyles, Cyno thought it was a good idea. And, from a practical point of view, it definitely was. It's truly a shame that hearts are anything but pragmatic, though. Their would have been much easier if that was the case, probably. ]

I wouldn't mind seeing you being a little selfish, actually.

[ Cyno's holding himself back from sealing their lips in another kiss only barely, to be honest. ]

Are you trying to sweettalk me into giving you a kiss, General Mahamatra?

[ tighnari chuckles, his gaze lifting to cyno's face, meeting his sunset eyes. for so long now he had made peace with the fact that he and cyno would not be able to reconcile their lifestyles to make a relationship work, yet now, here they are, with the opportunity laid out before them on a silver platter.

is it foolish to take this chance, knowing that they'll still one day have to return home? will their time here be worth it? tighnari is a pragmatic creature to a fault, yet he can't deny the warm tingle that cyno's lips left against his own. he sighs gently; this is something that deserves to be afforded the weight it deserves, and given a great deal of thought, but for now.. all he wants to do is kiss cyno again. so, that's what he does. tighnari eases forward once more, pressing his lips to cyno's mouth. ]

I am doing exactly that.

[ There's no reason for him to pretend it's different. His thoughts revolve around the same issues—living in the present and taking advantage of the opportunity to pursue something more than a friendship is tempting, but there's no escape from thoughts about the future.

As soon as Tighnari's lips are on his own, Cyno understands why they avoided some affectionate gestures. They resorted to subtle touches and nothing more which now seems rational. The kiss in the present simply leaves him hungry for more and no matter how hard he tries to hide that, it's reflected in his golden eyes when he gazes at Tighnari. ]

It should be alright if we stay here for a while longer, right?

[ it's a good kiss, a nice kiss, and tighnari hums softly into it, his hands lifting to hold gently to cyno's jaw, thumbs smoothing over his cheeks. it's just so easy, so natural that it feels like breathing, or blinking, or simply existing. cyno's lips are warm, and tighnari likes the feel of their breath mingling, likes cyno's closeness.. and now that they've crossed this line, can they ever uncross it? can they possibly go back to the way things were before?

tighnari doesn't know, but he certainly doesn't think so. when the kiss breaks, they stay close, tighnari's hands dropping to rest against cyno's collar. ]

Here in general, or here in this bed?

[ he smiles, chuckling. ]

I doubt we have much to say in regard of staying here in general.

[ The Goddess summoned them here and there's not much to do about it at the moment. Cyno rests his hand on Tighnari's cheek, the pad of his thumb gently caressing his cheekbone. ]

Which leaves us with staying in the bed. I don't want everything do be dictated by the bingo squares. Not with you.

[ Although they're here so Tighnari can get sharing a bed punched, Cyno clearly wants it to be more than just getting the tasks done. ]

[ tighnari's expression softens a little, a gentle smile curving his mouth. ]

Don't worry, it won't be.

[ the squares, as helpful as they might be in getting this place fixed up, are negligible in the face of his feelings for cyno, and how they have matured. they come first.

and just to drive that home, tighnari cups cyno's jaw with both hands, dipping in near to kiss him again. ]

[ One glance at that smile is enough to make him believe that everything will be alright, not just on this peculiar island, but also in the future. The kiss only confirms this belief. He presses against Tighnari's lips, as if he wanted to express that there's nothing for him to worry about when they're together. ]

I won't let you do any farming for a while, though. You need to get better first.

[ That statement might put an aburpt end to the kisses, yet he has to take that risk. ]

[ ah, there it is.

the kiss ends abruptly, and tighnari pulls back, looking into cyno's face, frowning. he knows cyno means well, but tighnari doesn't take well to fussing, despite the fact that he himself fusses very often. over cyno, in fact. but doctors always make the worst patients. ]

Cyno, I'm fine. It's mostly healed. I know my limits.
