mid-month event

With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.

introducing: the memo board

The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.

But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?

By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!

it's time to dance!

Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.

ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.

In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!

The new additions are as follows:

1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.

2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.

3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.

4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.

5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ Honestly, as for whatever amount Ellis cares about Gaku now, he still didn't think to ponder about how Gaku would be feeling. Ellis has always been a selfish person, so he would only think about how a person if it had to do with something that he needed.

It sounds like a long road ahead... ]

"Then explain 'processing' to me."

[ Ellis sometimes wonders if he should stop looking like a human if he'll be shoved human characteristics at constantly. He can't relate to a lot of things. ]

Thinking about how and why you felt a certain way and moving on from it if you have to.

[ He pauses, trying to think of an example. It's not hard to. ]

I got kidnapped back home. It was by another idol group trying to sabotage an important performance. The background of all of that doesn't matter, but you need to know that I spent a lot of time with my members in the days after discussing what it felt like and what we'd do in the future to be safer.

[framestory]

[ Honestly, Ellis is surprised how that seems to be Gaku's only incident with kidnapping. He thought there would be a lot more attempts with how popular he seems to be. ]

"It doesn't take that long for me."

[associative]

...Considering everything, I guess not.

[ He frowns, drumming his fingers on the desk as he thinks. ]

So, did you stabilize yourself?

[framestory]

[ Ellis nods as if that's the easiest question to answer. ]

"I do it often."

[ If Gaku thinks back to the "marbles" incident, there was a moment when Ellis calmed down really fast. Twice. ]

[associative]

[ He can't help but to immediately think back to that incident, along with the one during their movie marathon.

Hm.

It can't be healthy, not when it's serious emotional moments like that. But Gaku also can't tell him what to do either. ]

...Have you ever thought about not doing it?

[framestory]

[ Ellis shakes his head no. It looks like he's used to it and prefers this method. ]

[associative]

I think you should give it a try. Just once.

[ Please praise him in not telling Ellis that he should avoid doing it. ]

Listen to what your heart says... you might find out more about yourself by doing that.

[framestory]

[ Perhaps, if things didn't happen, Ellis would actually agree to try it out for once and be compliant to Gaku's request. Also, Gaku... sweetheart... if Ellis had a heart, things would be different right now. ]

"I tried two days ago."

[ That's when Ellis showed up at Gaku's house with flowers. ]

[associative]

[ Oh.

... ]

But wasn't that the goddess' doing?

[framestory]

"I don't know, but I wasn't given a choice. It didn't work anyway."

[ Ellis plucks the water bottle that he gave to Gaku earlier and opens to drink out of it. ]

[associative]

What didn't work?

[ There are a lot of things that didn't, so he wants Ellis to specify what it was. ]

[framestory]

"Whatever I felt, stabilizing didn't work."

[ So Ellis was having quite a Time when he went home. ]

[associative]

[ The hand he has on the desk turns into a fist. ]

I'm sorry. Rejecting you hurt, but I can't imagine what it was like for you.

[ Not when Ellis isn't even used to feelings like that. ]

I knew it wasn't right. I didn't want you to regret things when it wore off.

[framestory]

[ Ellis just takes a sip of water and reaches out to pat Gaku's shoulder. It's easy to get over things when one doesn't care in general. ]

"Don't be sorry for things you don't regret doing."

[associative]

[ ...He doesn't know how he feels about the pat on the shoulder, but he doesn't shrug it off. ]

Fine.

[ He'll accept that at face value. ]

But it sucked, getting what I wanted in the worst way.

[framestory]

[ Ain't that life. ]

"It happens. Sorry it happened to you. You probably hated it."

[associative]

Yeah, it did.

[ A serious look settles on his face. ]

I like you. [ He's told Ellis that he's interested, but like? That hadn't entered the equation yet. It was part of his rejection the other day, but this is different. ] I know I rejected you the other day, but I want that fact to be clear.

[framestory]

"I know."

[ Even if Gaku didn't say it, Ellis knew that already. ]

"Did you think I didn't?"

[ Not that he thinks Ellis cares... but he wants to have full disclosure. ]

[ rip to whoever that was, Ellis thinks as he sets the water bottle aside. Gaku would be right in that Ellis doesn't care about that. ]

"You're not the kind of person who sticks their tongue in someone else's mouth and not like them."

[ He pauses, letting out a sigh. ]

When I have to do all sorts of things in dramas, I like to keep the stuff in my personal life authentic. I don't want anything meaningless.

[framestory]

"That's subjective, like how I think pursuing me is meaningless, but you don't."

[ He thinks this is the best example to use. A shame that Gaku likes this guy. ]

"So live your life the way you want."

[associative]

[ Well, living the way he wants will be chasing after Ellis until he's fully and completely rejected. ]

Have your feelings toward me changed at all?

[ He's not expecting Ellis to like him back right now, but he wants to know if he's still nothing. ]
