[ On a very hot day in Summer 12, every house in Crescentview will receive an invitation to Ellis's place along with a map with directions tailored to each house. Better tell your housemate about it. Ellis has invited everyone to come over to his place. There will be an insanely long slip n slide that feels ridiculously slippery. In fact, it is not powered by water. It's powered by water-based lube. But don't worry, Fluffy the white adult samoyed dog can hose you down to wash it all off if desired. He will also accept pets and attention from those who feel awkward at parties. The dog will also go around once in a while to spray random people with the hose.

Anyway, there's also free food laid out on the table! From Lucia's Cozy Kitchen (and advertised as such), there are fried chicken, fried noodles, and spinach wraps. From Diluc's Dämmerung Bar & Winery, there will be this season's specialty: strawberry wine! There are many other food as well such as dried apple chips, crispy fruit salad, generic snacks... there's also soda and water for the people who don't want to drink wine.

The main attractions in the party seem to be the extremely long slip n slides--multiples of them actually--and there is a specifically longer slip n slide, but it's used as a game. There's a plastic stick at the end that you must get to and bring back without falling even once. Yes, your feet must be on the slip n slide. Beware, this one is even more slippery than the others. There is... an assortment of prizes to win. What are the prizes? Win one and find out.

Other than that, Ellis is also selling bottles of water-based lube. He knows some of y'all need these.

It...isn't something he's given much thought, but they have been doing this for weeks now. It's summer. Considering how much time has passed, and how much is left, it's something very worth considering. ]

To say "no" would be...incorrect. [ This feels like the easiest way to explain how he feels. ] I genuinely enjoy his company, and I like the time we spend together and...everything that we do. I care for him and I want him to be happy.

[ That, and he's still in love with Syrlya, and his faint hope that his commander loves him back is alive and well. ]

[ Trahearne... To Ellis, he's acting like a schoolboy who believes he's never good enough for his crush and doesn't want to ruin his friendship. He sees that plant people are also susceptible to this. ]

[ What's that supposed to mean for Kaeya??? ]

[ A frustrated sigh. ]

Selfishly, yes. But if I must be honest, Kaeya deserves better than me, too.

[ He frowns. ]

If you can figure out who it is and ask him, then don't tell me the answer. I...don't think I can bear to know either way.

[ Ellis thinks on this a little bit. He's honestly not that well versed in romance either, but from what he knows... ]

Just know that you're doing them a big disservice if you keep putting yourself down.

"Don't talk bad about the person that they're fond of" or something like that.

[ With that, Ellis will run back! Any shouting Trahearne does will not be heard, because he's deaf and if he doesn't see a mouth moving, no one is speaking. ]

[ Oh... He's gone.

But Ellis has a point. And Trahearne is too tired to think coherently--what he said was probably nonsense. Oh, does he wish Syrlya loved him back, but... He'll find out. He guesses.

But he'll worry about that once he's slept a bit and can think a bit more rationally about this.
