275 gallons of lube in the barn, 275 gallons of lube...

WHO: EVERYONE
WHAT: Ellis tries hosting a summer party with slip n slide.
WHEN: Summer 12
WHERE: On Ellis's farm property
WARNINGS: NSFW dialogue. Owen laying out his kinks for everyone to see.

[ On a very hot day in Summer 12, every house in Crescentview will receive an invitation to Ellis's place along with a map with directions tailored to each house. Better tell your housemate about it. Ellis has invited everyone to come over to his place. There will be an insanely long slip n slide that feels ridiculously slippery. In fact, it is not powered by water. It's powered by water-based lube. But don't worry, Fluffy the white adult samoyed dog can hose you down to wash it all off if desired. He will also accept pets and attention from those who feel awkward at parties. The dog will also go around once in a while to spray random people with the hose.

Anyway, there's also free food laid out on the table! From Lucia's Cozy Kitchen (and advertised as such), there are fried chicken, fried noodles, and spinach wraps. From Diluc's Dämmerung Bar & Winery, there will be this season's specialty: strawberry wine! There are many other food as well such as dried apple chips, crispy fruit salad, generic snacks... there's also soda and water for the people who don't want to drink wine.

The main attractions in the party seem to be the extremely long slip n slides--multiples of them actually--and there is a specifically longer slip n slide, but it's used as a game. There's a plastic stick at the end that you must get to and bring back without falling even once. Yes, your feet must be on the slip n slide. Beware, this one is even more slippery than the others. There is... an assortment of prizes to win. What are the prizes? Win one and find out.

Other than that, Ellis is also selling bottles of water-based lube. He knows some of y'all need these.

Mingle, eat food, and have fun!

[Welp! Lucky number 13!]

[He'll give a nod, before he moves - and he's going at it a little slow than most, shifting one foot after the other. What he finds is...this is harder than he thought it would be. Even a small movement causes his foot to move forward, and he's scrambling to keep his balance.]

[He does eventually make it to the end, but as soon as he grabs the stick....well.]

[Trying to turn around is the hardest part, and as he shifts around, one foot moves way too fast, and he falls backwards with a loud yelp.]

Ah-!

{DOWN HE GOES!!]

[ Kaspar watches, clapping for him once he takes the stick. But alas, he falls and Kaspar doesn't laugh but his nose crinkles like he does anyway.

Unless Steinbeck looks like he needs some help, he moves to make his attempt.

He is the type that should be good at this, but has his klutz moments too. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised that rng blessed him with an 18.

So Kaspar jumps from foot to foot, bending his knees slightly as he takes some momentum into his start down the slide. He wavers back slightly but adjusts his balance with his arms enough to stay upright. His speed is a little faster than he intended, forcing him to lean back just enough to not topple over when he retrieves the stick.

He almost falls pushing himself back the other way, but the rules never said he couldn't use the stick to correct his balance. So he does without a thought. Both arms out, legs still bent, he succeeds in making it back.

Kaspar smiles by the end, more because he didn't get lube on his clothes and hair. This effortless look takes a little effort. But... it was also fun, so--

... one more time?

[Annnd there he goes. As Steinbeck scrambles before managing to get shakily up onto his feet, lube sticking to his skin and clothes, he watches as Kaspar goes. Of course, he'll return the favor, letting out a "YEAH!" as the other grabs the stick.]

[But the man doesn't go through the same fate as him, and Steinbeck lets out an impressed whistle as Kaspar makes it back to solid ground.]

You make it look easy! [He pretends to pout, but his eyes are twinkling, merry.] And you want to go one more time? Haha, alright! I'll go for another round. Are you sure you just don't want to show off?

[ Kaspar smiles at the look in those eyes more than the pout. But he still glances at the lube spots. There's no gloating though, just the genuine acceptance of his own success.

He shakes his head no at the guesses as to motivations.
]

Perhaps, I'd like two squares.

[ Kaspar jokes airily. Really, it is fun enough that he would hardly press the issue. He gestures for the other man to go first with a small smile, just before he almost slips from the lube still on his feet. Smooth. ]

Two squares? You're really going for it.

[He realizes its a joke, but he's still squaring up, even stretching his arms back a little like he's prepared for an Olympic race.]

Maybe we can make that happen. I have to get back my dignity here, and-

[Oh, whoops, there he almost goes-! Steinbeck reaches out instinctively to grab at his wrist.]

Hey there, be careful. This stuff's no joke.

[ Kaspar welcomes the help when he slides, trying not to take the other man with him or slide directly into him. He shoots an arm out for a hold on Steinbeck to steady himself in the brief moment before he can get his feet solidly back under him.

Righted, he pauses with a breath of a laugh. And if the other isn't in danger of falling, Kaspar retreats with a nod to the slide.

You're doing okay?

[He does flick a worried glance at Kaspar's feet, but once he makes sure the other isn't about to slip to the great lube beyond, he lets out a relieved huff.]

There we go.

[And he detaches his hand, smiling - its time for his try! He pulls up his sleeves and pants again, ready to go.]

For that extra square-!

[And actually.....RNG IS GOOD TO HIM! He's much more careful this time, twirling after he grabs the stick with his tongue stuck out in concentration- and lands solidly. Time to get back. He's a bit eager by the end of it, and he stumbles a little....but manages to finish the course, letting out a little cheer.]

See? I can do it!

[ Kaspar is quieter but nods at the worry. He is fine, but doesn't move from his stable spot as he watches, clapping for the other man again at his success with a genuine little smile. By the triumphant end, Kaspar doesn't even seem bothered that it means he might owe a square now too.

Without hesitation, he lines himself up again for his next turn. The roll was a 9, unfortunately, so his fate is sealed even before he starts. Learning from last time, he tries for less momentum in the beginning to avoid sliding too far. But this decision and the extra lube already on his feet prove to be his downfall.

He halts too soon, just shy of the stick he reaches for. And in the moment he takes to try and shove forward, nearby laughter draws his glance and sends his overly lubed feet out from under him. He catches himself with impressive reflexes, but it is too late and the sliding coats his backside along with his hands and arms up the back of his elbows. It is his hair he does his best to spare such a fate, and he succeeds.

From the ground, he laughs more freely than before. If Steinbeck is close enough, it takes him a moment to get back to his feet. Either way, once near him again, he admits defeat.
]

We are even, now, I believe.

[ And with that, he wipes off his hands as best he can to offer his bingo card. Handwritten in careful cursive on well worn and folded stationery, are his squares. ]

[And so, the tides have turned. Steinbeck gets ready to cheer again, but...ah. Well, Luck is not on Kaspar's side, and so, he watches with wide blue eyes as the man makes a valiant effort to prevent his downfall, and fails with utter aplomb.]

Aw, well. All's well that ends well?

[Still, the man looks like he's having fun, what with that bout of laughter, and Steinbeck can't hesitate to grin as he comes over. He'll even reach over to pluck a glob of lube from his shoulder and flick it away.]

So we are! Let's see...

[He takes out his own bingo card to exchange, before looking over at Kaspar's card.]

Huh. We got a bit in common. [The bondage square, haha....but he points at the campfire square.] Hey, this should be fun. Its been a while since I've made a good campfire. I think you'd like it, if you haven't experience one already. Nothing like a nice bright bit of heat in a cool night.

[personal profile] bluminescence 2023-01-18 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Kaspar nods. And if he notices the bondage square in common, there is no reaction to it. But maybe he notices kiss. Or maybe he remembers Steinbeck's request from earlier. Whatever its source, impulse has Kaspar leaning over to return the other man's bingo card with a peck of a kiss aimed for his cheek.

An innocent gesture, with the subdued smile that follows his short retreat.
]

... a campfire. Tonight?

-!

[Oh. He wasn't expecting that - Steinbeck, in all his lax nature, has his eyes widen in pleasant surprise, glancing over. His hand naturally drifts to his cheek, before he brightens up in a grin.]

Tonight it is. I'll gather what we need. [The little kiss has given him some courage, and after a little pause, he asks, with eager eyes.] Hey, give me your hand for just a second.

[ Kaspar doesn't tell him, but he quietly plans to bring something to cook on the fire, perhaps tea. He realizes with some curiosity that their ideas of campfires may be very different.

The request brings him back, and he offers his hand without any real pause for consideration. An odd request, but Kaspar rather enjoys holding hands. And he is still far too accustomed to being the strongest person in any room. Of course, he watches intently.

Heh.

[Good. He'll take that hand gently, before bending down to press a light kiss to his knuckles. It feels a little funny to Steinbeck - it smacks of something like a knight would do to a prince in a fairytale, and he's very aware he's nowhere near princehood or knighthood, but...the gesture is what it is.]

There. [A little squeeze with his fingers, before pulling away.] For good luck for the rest of the day, I suppose.

[ No, that isn't what he expected! Kaspar can't help himself from breathing an unexpected little laugh. His favorite heroine, explorer of fantastical caverns and underground worlds, had a similar enough moment with the Fae that it hits him warmly.

He recites her line from the page, obviously rote with no expectation of recognition. The words fit anyway, but it may be obvious they aren't his alone.
]

... may this kindness light our briefly parted paths.

[ And once the other releases him, Kaspar takes his unhurried leave. Off to casually retrieve his belted holster and things.

Do we want an inbox or something, since he'll wander back here, glowing and all after nightfall.

[Its a nice saying - Steinbeck lets out a chuckle, unsure what he could answer to that, but the sentiment is nice, regardless. He'll wave as Kaspar moves away, before turning on his heel with a pleased hum, eying the woods for a future trip to gather wood.]

[And yes, an inbox would be lovely. :)]
