summer catchall
Who: Mishka & some poor unfortunate souls
What: Bingo et al.
When: Summer
Where: Anywhere
Warnings: NSFW & insects
Sometimes I feel tenderly
opened up, wet and revealed as if cut
in two.

childe > mishka > amber
Spine ramrod-straight where he's taken a seat, Childe addresses Mishka with no small amount of resignation. ]
Sure you plan to stick around for this?
[ It's perhaps the worst decision he could feasibly make, but if it comes down to it, fleeing through the window is a viable option? Hydro won't be enough to put out the flames to come. Figures he'd meet his gruesome demise by burning to a crisp. Does Mishka truly want to be a casualty? ]
... Well, suit yourself.

Unfortunately (or, perhaps, fortunately), he isn't quite privy to the exact dynamic going on here; that Childe doesn't suggest he leave tells him it's not an affair particularly private, though perhaps it is personal. This, then, piques his interest.
Childe, his smile so far serrated like a knife and otherwise fluid in a dangerous manner, is not like the way he's been before. He simply wants to know why.
His own hot chocolate in his hands and half-sitting on the couch's plush arm, like he's ready to stand should he need it, he takes a satisfied sip. )
What else are friends for?
( Are they friends? It doesn't really matter to Mishka, because he doesn't know if Childe will match its meaning. It's a label that seems easier to apply than anything else, though, so he's glad to use it. )

she turns the handle of the front door, assuming that Mishka is home because it is open ... when Amber heads through the door, she expects to see him lounging somewhere, but to her surprise it sounds like he has a guest over...? )

You--! ( she barks, freezing on the spot in the doorway. ) What are you doing here?!

Is that what we are now?
[ Funny.
Whatever Diluc has told her is entirely out of his hands, but Tartaglia's staring only at her, nothing spared for Mishka. He looks the worst for it. Laired up like an incongruity in this room, Childe isn't riled. Denying none of Amber's anger, he's minding this ordeal with a gaze that proves to be relentless and cold. ]
I'm here to see you. [ Harbinger of fear and death, come to her doorstep, roosting on the cushions. The only staying constant is Childe's even cadence. Welcome back. ] Did you want me to leave? Or would you prefer to fight?
[ May as well cut the courtesies now, if she can't forgive his presence in this home. ]

Despite the quickness of the situation, Mishka is slow. He doesn't need to hurry yet—his instincts don't panic, tell him he's not the target—and instead his gaze catches Amber's taut rage, and the way Childe folds.
Well, well. )
I let him in. I didn't know you had a history.
( Best address that now, before she get paranoid. He stands soundlessly, setting his cup down on a side table without even a clink.
If Amber wanted him gone, well, he would only help her, though it doesn't seem Childe is in an argumentative mood. )

Explain yourself. ( because fighting is definitely an option, but she'll grant him the chance to come clean. above all else, she wants to hear his intentions. )
Why have you come to see me?
no subject
To talk. Should I have come here for anything less? [ No edge of truculence riding his voice, and no remorse for placing a bid he couldn't fulfill. ] It doesn't matter if anyone else overhears.
[ Mishka's presence alone should be telling enough. It's hardly a secret. ]
Tell me, what do you think I'm hiding from you? [ May as well start there. ] Whatever Diluc told you is probably the truth, more or less. But I doubt that guy fessed up to everything.
[ Now, why would that be? ]

Amber has the reigns here, and clearly there's something personal, as he suspected, at play. If she wishes to listen, then Mishka would abide; if she wanted Mishka gone, well— he would yet abide by that, but still listen in.
He doesn't usually see Amber like this either, so they both hold his interest even if he's peripheral to both at present. )
PUTS ON MY CLOWN NOSE I CAN'T BELIEVE I LOST TRACK OF THIS THREAD IT'S FINE
We ... we didn't talk much about you. I only learned of the group you're part of. And I'm very less enthused after learning that.
( Amber returns her gaze to Childe. )
So, why? Why are you a part of an organisation like the Fatui? And why did you want to talk to me?
