i. after the hurricane

[ When the skies clear and the sun comes back out after the hurricane passes, Ori does her best to visit every. single. farm. She had spent most of that time inside making sure her and M-21's farm was weathering the storm well enough, and then most of the rainy day following... baking cookies. Many, many cookies.

Which she is now showing up at your doorstep with, rapping upon the door politely. ]

Hello there! I just wanted to check on everyone! Do you need help clearing your farm? Or if you got hurt during the storm, I can heal... Oh! And I have cookies.

ii. funny forest furries

[ On some of the other sunny summer days, Ori will make her way into the woods surrounding the forest farms to practice her magic and figure out what's going on with her shapeshifting ability.

Which is really to say... Anyone exploring or foraging in the woods may find themself running into a rather peculiar sight: choose your fighter between a bear with webbed platypus feet and a platypus face, a rabbit with mouse ears and horns, or a parrot-colored giant owl... ]

iii. double trouble ( aka 'you split into two identical copies of yourself for a day' babey)

[ Did you just see Ori somewhere in town, perhaps delivering flowers during the daytime or hanging around the tavern during the evenings?

Well, now you're seeing her again, somewhere else, even though it seems impossible for her to be in two places at once... unless...?

Anyhow, any prolonged staring will spur the tiefling to approach. ]

[ He's got here there. She's definitely noticed that things grow at a much quicker pace... ]

Ah, of course! I meant more that I'm growing them without any of my magic.

To be honest, this is... Bizarre, of course, but it's also a nice change of pace for me... I'd be a rather poor adventurer if I couldn't adapt to changing situations. Anywho—

I've brought soup, and bread! I know that it's warm out, so the soup could be eaten cold, but I'll leave that up to you!

I noticed. [He lowers the covering on the basket.] Thank you, I'm sure we'll enjoy this.

[Still: adventurer, huh? He's certainly just as travelled, but being able to wander just for the sake of adventure is... an enviable simplicity.] What is the strangest thing about this place to you?

[ Her answer comes easily: ]

[ And then she realizes how that might sound. ]

—I just mean that... Well, there could be an island with a bunch of farms and a town most anywhere, but only here is that the case where there are people from entirely different worlds!

Well, that's because we're not really here of our intention... [This may not be a traditional kidnapping situation. But, well, technically...]

But if the island itself is familiar enough to you, I understand.

Well, that, and - I can't even imagine the amount of magical power the Goddess must have in order to pull this off. I can't help but be intrigued by that, you know...?

And. Well, I've definitely not been to an island like this one to call it familiar, but I've been to farms. And forests. And towns. And mines. That kind of thing, so... All of which aren't exactly strange!

But how about you, Syrlya? What's the strangest thing about this place, to you?

[The strangest thing about this place? Syrlya pauses, considering that.]

... The strangest food packaging they have at the grocery. I've never seen just elaborate boxes and bags with such detailed painting... for food.

[ Oh! She hadn't thought about the little things like that, honestly. ]

Oh! I've seen those, too! Which reminds me, some of these foods are very new to me, too... Like "instant ramen!"

Right, I have no idea what that is. [He shrugs. Can it truly be instant? Maybe it just means pre-cooked.] But I have been trying things here and there, as money and trade allows.

[ She nods enthusiastically! ]

Right! Would you share your... Um, findings with me?

My findings? You mean... what things taste like? [He raises a brow.] I haven't actually been keeping a written record of any of it...

It could be a fun little project while we're here, couldn't it? A... "Food log!" Or something!

[ like a food blog, but neither of them know what the internet is so ]

[Syrlya brings a hand to his chin.] In that case... would it not be better to start from the beginning?

Oh, perhaps! I mean, maybe not log every single thing you eat, but... If something makes a strong impression on you, perhaps we can make a note of it!

Am I the test subject here? [His expression twists wryly.] I suppose I can see about keeping a record.

[ Ah, her own expression twists at his reaction, too, afraid that she's offended him. What's more, she's just learned about what M-21 has been through, so she's quick to try and correct herself. ]

No, not like that at all. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have worded things so... scientifically?
