I am excited to have you along for a group excursion to the mysterious new island! In two days' time, let us gather in the town square and set off from there! Please be prepared to stay the night. It will be so fulfilling and memorable for everyone to spend a night on an adventure together!

[ It takes Ellis several seconds to snap out of it, but then he registers that Gaku is within his presence, holding a rubber duck. The empty void doesn't recede right away in full, but it makes a gradual retreat followed by a peaceful calm to replace it. He smiles and waves a little.

However, the void is still there. ]

[ ...Hm. He's simultaneously surprised and disappointed that the feeling recedes, but not completely. There's a strange mixture of emotions within him (that Ellis can surely feel too) as he approaches Ellis, stopping when he's right in front of him. ]

Do you like this or the hot springs more?

"Isn't this basically a hot spring?"

[ No. It is not. Also why is Gaku standing. At least sit in front of him... but then he feels Gaku's emotions too, and hes not sure where that's coming from and more confused on why he's feeling it. ]

[ He does finally sit when he finds a good spot, but then he motions for Ellis to come closer and points to his lap. Come take the best seat in the house. ]

This is totally different. Open air baths and hot springs aren't even close.

[ Ellis looks over at where Gaku is pointing and he just. STARES. At him. ]

"We are not having sex here."

[ ELLIS. WHY.

There's a flood of embarrassment coming from him as his face turns bright red. ]

Of course we aren't. Don't make things weird.

"You pointed to your lap while we're naked in the bath. I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to think. Everyone can see."

[ He very much doubts that Gaku is into it due to his status as an idol. ]

...Oh.

[ Ellis is right in thinking that, because that makes him immediately decide against convincing him. ]

I just wanted to cuddle.

[ And he figured Ellis would sit on his lap sideways, so it would have worked out... ]

[ Ellis quietly sighs and scoots closer to Gaku and sits next to him instead, leaning on his side. No cuddling in the bath, but he hopes this will be enough for him for now. Sometimes he feels a little bad when he says no to Gaku... ]

"Maybe not in public, especially in the bath. Shouldn't this be fine for now?"

[ Gaku snakes an arm around his waist, waiting for Ellis to look up at him before speaking again. ]

Yeah, this works. [ He pauses. ] Do you always feel like this?

[ Ellis raises an eyebrow. ]

"Feel like what?"

[ There's a sense of uneasiness despite Ellis looking like his usual self. ]

Like nothing.

[ His expression shifts into something a little more serious, especially as that unease from Ellis settles in. ]

You know what I'm talking about. I can feel it.

[ ...

Guess who isn't aware that the air wasn't the only thing that was open in this bath. This guy. So, no. Ellis doesn't know what Gaku is talking about.

??? ]

I can feel what you feel in here. I know because I've never felt anything like that.

[ He's never felt so unnervingly empty, and it's an incredibly disconcerting feeling. ]

[ Oh.

Well.

Thanks, he's going to leave the bath now— ]

[ Fuck that, he's not letting you run away. Gaku grabs onto his wrist and pulls him back. ]

I don't like it if you try to leave when I feel like I need to talk to you about something important.

[ With that, Ellis falls into the water, making a splash with a startled yelp. Perhaps it's unnerving to still have the empty void linger even when he's so shocked and surprised, though there were tiny feelings of that there. He looks exasperated at Gaku, matching what he feels as that also leaks into the pool of emotions. After adjusting to sit next to Gaku properly again, he signs. ]

"Coping mechanism. Can't help it."

[ Man, is this how people felt when Ellis told them he could read minds?? No wonder Mishka wanted to kill him. ]

[ It sure is unnerving! ]

...But if it's a coping mechanism, could you try to start letting go of it?

[ Honestly, Ellis needs a therapist more than anything but who would even be equipped for all of that? ]

That's how Ellis feels right now, and with what Gaku says, the empty void-like feeling grows stronger, threatening to swallow up the remainder of the calm peace he had just before. ]

[ He can go on and on about how it would help Ellis, but clearly that won't do anything. Frustration swells up within him, and most certainly in Ellis, but he doesn't let it out.

Instead, Gaku drops his wrist. ]

Forget I brought it up.

[ Ellis isn't surprised by the sudden frustration that he feels, but it makes him to feel frustrated too, and it only compounds on the emotion. Thanks, bathwater. He quietly huffs and sinks back into the water again except for his head. At least the frustration is actually overpowering the empty feeling. In fact, it's consumed all of it and brought some friends along for the ride, but "anger in a champagne bottle that only has a matter of time before it explodes" in particular. ]

[ Ah... the type of anger he feels from Ellis is the intense sort that he only feels when his dad causes issues for him. Taking a deep breath, he lets it out slowly, letting his own frustration dissipate bit by bit. ]

If you have something you wanna say to me, just say it. Keeping it in doesn't do any good for either of us.

"It's not a problem that I have with only you."

[ Sure, he can pretend to fit in. He looks like a person, acts like a person, reacts like a person... as if he's a real person. He can do things that real people can do. Real people encourage him to think he's real, because he's tangible. However, he doesn't think the empty void-like feeling will ever truly go away, because what is there to feel when he's constantly reminded of who he is every time he looks in the mirror? Sure, he won't disappear now at any time due to the wish he's made and he's always been an unwanted existence from the moment he was made. He never feels lonely, because being on his own is a natural state of being for him, but sometimes he can't help but to think-- ]
