dec mid-month event.
mid-month event
With Crescentview’s newest citizens settling nicely, the Goddess has summoned everyone back to Town Square for another round of announcements. This time, her summons comes to you in the form of a hand-written note. If you happen to be out working in your field, one of her fairies will hand it directly to you, looking a little more sprightly than they did the first time you saw them. Otherwise, expect to find her request/demand to meet up in Town Square in your mailbox.
introducing: the memo board
The Memo Board is now available in Town Square. You may post messages here to your fellow neighbors, send out requests for assistance on the farm, or even solicit local singles for hot dates! Post whatever you like whenever you like. You can even post messages to the board anonymously if you so desire. The Memo Board is available here.
But wait, there’s more! The Goddess has given everyone a fun relationship-building exercise. How well do you know your neighbors? Can you identify them based on their writing alone?
By December 22nd - 12:00pm EST, please have your character submit an anonymous message to be posted to the Memo Board. Their message can be about anything they’d like and there is no length requirement or restrictions. After submissions have been received, characters will be given an opportunity to review everyone’s messages and guess which character wrote which memo. Answers will be revealed on December 29th - 12:00pm EST. A single correct guess will earn you a horse while each additional correct guess will net you a vegetable, flower, or mushroom spore seed bag of your choice. Good luck and have fun!
it's time to dance!
Every Spring 15th, the annual Flower Dance is held in Town Square. Villagers gather to dance with one another and celebrate the upcoming harvest and offer their prayers to the Goddess. Folks are encouraged to dance not just with those they fancy, but their fellow neighbors as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for the friendship and company they provide.
ICly, the dance takes place on Spring 15th and goes from 9am to 9pm.
task board
In addition to the tasks currently available on the Task Board, a handful of new additions have been added. You may continue to work on tasks from the previous event in addition to these new tasks, but please note that tasks may only be completed within the month they are assigned. Summer starts next month, so please have all of your tasks completed and submitted by then!
The new additions are as follows:
1. Post a notice on the Memo Board. Stick up an anonymous memo and earn a single chicken or rabbit to add to your coop. You may post as many notices as you like, but you will only redeem the reward once.
2. Correctly guess who posted a memo. Discuss these anonymous notes with one another and guess who may be the author. Between December 22nd and December 29th, submit your IC votes (link coming on the 22nd) and if you guess correctly, even just once, you will get a horse! You may guess as many times as you like, but you may only redeem this reward once.
3. Partake in the Flower Dance. Pick a partner for a round of dancing, pray to the Goddess, or just celebrate the good times! For every person that you celebrate the event with, you will receive a random bag of seeds of fruits, vegetables, flowers, or mushroom spores. This task can be completed 5 times.
4. Send a letter to your neighbor. This requires you to have acquired the stationary set from the first event, so if you haven't claimed it yet, get to it! You can post letters directly on the main community or set up an inbox in your journal to send and receive hand-written letters. For each letter that you send, you will get a random gacha item. This task can be completed 3 times.
5. Harvest your crops. On the 14th, you'd be surprised to find that all of your crops are now ready for picking - even if you've only planted them the day before. The crops look bright, flavourful, and ready to be picked, so eat them, trade them, sell them, whatever! For every interaction that you have involving the bountiful harvest, you will receive a new set of clothes. This task can be completed 3 times.

[ You know... a hug is fine. This much Gaku is willing to do when Ellis is like this, so he wraps his arm around him in turn. ]

There might as well be hearts floating out of this guy right now. ]

Gaku heaves out a sigh. ]

[ He gently extracts himself from Ellis' hold. ]
I'm sorry.

Ellis may have his positive emotions amplified all the way up the wazoo, but anything multiplied by zero is still zero. The happiness meter plummets to hell until it shatters into oblivion. He stares at Gaku as if he couldn't believe what he just interpreted from Gaku's mouth and his gaze is cast downwards. ]
"But I..."
[ No, he just lets his hands fall to his side. Ellis shakes his head and runs out of the house. ]
no subject
He goes to lay down on the couch so he can process whatever the hell that was. ]

The used papers have been cut into so many little pieces that it's impossible to puzzle them up. Love also makes you blind, in which Ellis sees nothing wrong with straddling Gaku over his stomach on the couch, smiling all the while. ]
"I love you."
[ He leans in to give him a kiss on the nose. ]

Gaku spits some of that makeshift confetti out of his mouth, looking up at Ellis with furrowed brows. ]
Hey. What are you doing?

It's him. It's
Fifty. It's El▓▓▓ whO...?Who is he?
Ellis feels like all he can see are scribbles all over people's faces, but that's okay. He knows this is Gaku. He loves Gaku. That's what matters the most. He loves him. He loves him so, so, much.
Ellis leans in to give Gaku more kisses all over his face. ]
Oops I fell asleep
He stops straddling and decides to lie down on Gaku instead, nuzzling the side of his face.
None of that matters when he loves someone so, so much. ]
crying
[ This is what he wanted, but it feels so, so wrong. He can’t even enjoy it for what it is, because the person he likes doesn’t really feel this way.
Gaku frowns, his hand coming up to rest on the back of Ellis’ head as he lays down.
This… hurts, honestly. ]
Not as much as gaku's maiden heart
Everything.
Will be okay.
He opens his eyes and gives a small kiss on Gaku's cheek. ]
u_u
You should go back home and get some rest.
[ Don’t do something you’d regret, Ellis. ]
no subject
"But I want to stay here with you."
[ Is he not allowed even that? ]
no subject
[ And he has a feeling that Ellis will regret laying on top of him too, but he doesn’t have the heart to push Ellis off. For now, this is fine. No lines are being crossed. ]
no subject
[ Being openly physically affectionate is what people like, don't they? But he can't seem to make sense of Gaku's preferences. He rejected Ellis being nice (fake) and seemed to like him when Ellis was being mean (real, but also fed up with him at the time). Whether Ellis shows his true or fake side doesn't mean anything to Ellis—it's only what people get that matters.
He doesn't understand not wanting someone for the sake of someone else, so he looks a little lost as he sits back up on Gaku. ]
"What do you want from me?"
no subject
[ That’s the easiest thing to approach right now. Although he’s sure about what he wants, he knows he needs to be a little more delicate with what he says.
Ellis is in a vulnerable state right now. ]
I want you to care about me and like me back. You can say that you do now, but this is sudden, so I know it’s not real. I know you’ll wake up tomorrow and feel differently.
[ He’s trying to spare Ellis here, but also himself. ]
no subject
[ This isn't logical. What he feels right now isn't logical. Maybe Gaku has a point since this is not the first time he was affected by whatever the whims of the goddess, but for some reason, he wants to refuse. This is him, Ellis, who loves Gaku in this very moment. He loves him, so... why? He finally cares about something like a normal person, so... why?
Why?
It feels unfair.
Love is blind, but it also hurts. ]
no subject
[ He feels bad, making Ellis hurt like this, but it’s necessary.
Still… Gaku sits up, putting his hands on his shoulders. ]
We’re not even together, and we don’t know enough about each other to be in love. I think it could happen, but not so suddenly. Stuff like this takes time.
no subject
He finally gets off of Gaku, looking at him for a little while before turning and running away. ]
no subject
But when he doesn't see Ellis the next day, Gaku decides to give him a bit of time before finally stepping inside of his business the day after that.
He looks around, getting a feel for the place. ]
no subject
There's a written sign on the wall that reads, "For medical needs, please visit the clinic after. This is not a replacement for a hospital."
There's a hallway with a curtain that's hanging halfway down to act as a divider of some sort. Ellis really only needs the waiting room part of the building, but he wanted more space anyway, for whatever reason. Theres a kitchenette in the back, cabinets packed with food for animals, water, and more.
Ellis looks up to see Gaku coming inside, but Fluffy is the one who greets him first by toddling up to Gaku and sniffing, standing on his hind legs to lean on Gaku for balance. He's happy to see Gaku!! Ellis is... well, he seems neutral. ]
