WHAT: Ellis tries hosting a summer party with slip n slide.

[ On a very hot day in Summer 12, every house in Crescentview will receive an invitation to Ellis's place along with a map with directions tailored to each house. Better tell your housemate about it. Ellis has invited everyone to come over to his place. There will be an insanely long slip n slide that feels ridiculously slippery. In fact, it is not powered by water. It's powered by water-based lube. But don't worry, Fluffy the white adult samoyed dog can hose you down to wash it all off if desired. He will also accept pets and attention from those who feel awkward at parties. The dog will also go around once in a while to spray random people with the hose.

Anyway, there's also free food laid out on the table! From Lucia's Cozy Kitchen (and advertised as such), there are fried chicken, fried noodles, and spinach wraps. From Diluc's Dämmerung Bar & Winery, there will be this season's specialty: strawberry wine! There are many other food as well such as dried apple chips, crispy fruit salad, generic snacks... there's also soda and water for the people who don't want to drink wine.

The main attractions in the party seem to be the extremely long slip n slides--multiples of them actually--and there is a specifically longer slip n slide, but it's used as a game. There's a plastic stick at the end that you must get to and bring back without falling even once. Yes, your feet must be on the slip n slide. Beware, this one is even more slippery than the others. There is... an assortment of prizes to win. What are the prizes? Win one and find out.

Other than that, Ellis is also selling bottles of water-based lube. He knows some of y'all need these.

[He'd offer a little bow, but it's kind of hard to do that while sitting. A nod will have to suffice!]

[To that last bit, he claps his hands.]

Oh, you got your own place too! I thought I was the only one on my own for a while, there. Where's yours located?

Oh, it's going great! I've kept my fields small enough to manage on my own, but I get help from the others in the area from time to time. It's such a fun collaborative effort!

Yes, professionally. I used to be a traveling performer for the circus, but now I have a troupe of my very own. I try to have a variety of skills in my repertoire to make sure my routines are always fresh and fun!

[He shoots Sylvando a thankful smile for not letting him fall over himself in his stupor.]

The circus....wow. Must have been exciting. What's your...like, favorite routine?

Oh, it was. I sincerely hope to perform in front of a crowd that big again sometime! As for my favorite routine, it's definitely dancing. Anytime I can fit dance into a performance, I will!

Oh, me, I'm... [Something passes over his face - he frowns for a moment.] Uh, farming. For the most part.

Fortunately, he doesn't think anything of that pause. Steinbeck's had a bit too much to drink, thinking is hard. He gets it.]

Oh! Really? You're a farmer back home too? Wow, so you've got a leg up on a lot of us!

Oh honey, you're certainly not alone there. I think many of the group are either unfamiliar with dating or are very rusty with it. The tasks and bingo squares are great for breaking the ice, at least! A lot of them involve dates without the weight associated with an official date.

I believe the Goddess is serious about her desire to see love blossom here. These tasks can be a stepping stone for something more. Of course, I certainly hope she doesn't intend on forcing marriage upon anyone if they don't find a partner by the end of the year. That's just not how love works!

If it helps you feel any better though, I certainly hadn't considered settling down anytime soon when I got brought here. I've lived on the road for almost a decade! But the more time I spend here with everyone, the less daunting it sounds.
