[ where are you right now? are you simply wandering around the island in no particular place? well, for those near the beach you can find a small calico cat who seems rather skittish and may be running away from a dog. fortunately, the dog doesn't seem to be chasing after the cat with any bloodlust but more like following her around? what is happening here?

or maybe you are having a meal when this small calico walks up to you and meows exactly once before sitting politely at your feet. or maybe you're just somewhere on the island in general when you stumble upon her. ]

[ because i refuse to believe that there is not a single bench on this entire island, uta will be outside sitting on one of them while flipping through a book with a title that seems... questionable or exciting depending on your taste in reading material. for uta, however, she'll questioning the novel she received with the proud title of My Boyfriend Is The One Except He’s A Lizard And Father Doesn’t Approve on its cover and spine. can't forget what you're reading, after all.

why is she reading this book outside where god and everyone can see her questionable taste? simple. if she must suffer, she will not go down alone—would be the answer if she was petty. the truth is that she's hoping to pawn it off to someone (anyone) else who finds the faintest interest in it. ]

[ since it has been a bit since they've all arrived, uta will be checking out the boutique's offerings to see if she can't find something to change up her wardrobe. farmcore has never been her thing, but wearing an all-white dress with a short skirt is definitely not practical. that said, she will be posing in front of a mirror in some new clothes which still aren't great for farming before going to change into something else that is a lot more reasonable.

perhaps it's interesting that regardless whatever she is trying on, she'll have a particular straw hat on her head in exchange for the headphones. ]

[ i see. zhongli is the neglectful kind of spouse. no wonder the divorce is happening. either way, as they do make it closer, uta will momentarily distracted every so often when she sees a particularly tall pine tree or a good view of the mountain's snow caps.

it's only for brief moments and her attention is still mainly on zhongli, especially when he brings up soil quality. but sometimes you've never seen real pine trees in your life or mountains with snow caps...(or it's just been a Really Long time. hard to say.) ]

I've been wondering how good the soil quality is for growing things near the beach. For the moment, I'm assuming that it wouldn't be too easy given my experiences.

[ she hadn't realized that she has sung anything until he points it out to her, but isn't surprised to find out that she had. if anything, his compliment of her voice and—most importantly—how he was moved by it was extremely reassuring. there was one thing that she realizes wasn't happening as a result of her singing and, well, she can't say that she is disappointed. if pressed to speak honestly about it, then she would say that she was happy about it.

[ It's a nice day for Ellis to explore on the 10th and when he's near the beach, he looks at a cat running away from a... friendly dog? Ellis would normally leave it be but what are they doing all the way at the beach for?? Ellis is curious so he walks over to the cat and dog. He has leftover crackers when he went with Uta and he's been using it to feed whatever animals he comes across and doesn't flee. ]

[ fortunately for ellis, here is an animal (or two animals technically) who isn't about to run away from him. instead he's going to get the two of them running towards him as soon as uta spots him.

...she doesn't expect him to know it's her but maybe she can communicate with him in some fashion? not that she can do much other than meow at him, and not like he can understand her meowing even if he could hear. nevertheless, as she approaches him she ignores the crackers entirely and just stands in front of him with her ears pulled back.

and. uh. the dog is also here too. the dog who is growling but not barking at ellis but not the cat. of all things?? ]

[ Lucia's decided to get some sun, sort of, and she's munching on a sandwich on the beach – in the shade, of course. She seems a little groggy for some reason, but when a cat approaches her, she's suddenly much more alert. She lowers her sandwich and peers at the kitty curiously. ]

...Hi, there. Are you hungry?

[ She breaks off a small piece, holds it out – and then retracts it suddenly. ]

Wait, can you even eat this?

[ uta wasn't exactly hungry but she also wasn't not hungry either. would she have loved the bit of the sandwich? oh, totally, however she won't collapse from hunger if she doesn't eat immediately. ...though she does feel compelled to meow at lucia nevertheless.

maybe it's a cat thing? this is still very strange to her.

it's a soft and very sweet sounding meow and could even be melodic...as far as cat meows could be. she readjusts her feet on the sand and ends up placing her two front paws on her tail. how in the world was she going to communicate to lucia.... ]

( satoko is used to friendly animals on this island by now, but something about this little calico is... different. though, she's certainly not the first to sit at the outdoor dining to ask for treats. just the politest. satoko looks down for a moment, and then back at her seared fish before sighing.

after a moment, she sets down a saucer with a bit of the salmon pre-shredded for the kitty. )

I can't give you anything else, it's not good for kitties.

[ when uta approached satoko she didn't expect to get food but she is definitely delighted in getting some of that fish. cat or not, she would not deny tasty fish—salmon of all things, too.

she'll give satoko a pleased meow as thanks before taking a few bites of the salmon. how long has uta been a cat at this point? not important but some of her human mannerisms are there. the meow in place of a thanks. the way she only eats the fish in reasonable chunks at a time.

After trading bingo cards and their conversation about different weather patterns in Uta's world, Gaku gets the idea that filling out her ice skating bingo square might be fun. Which is why they're up in the mountains today, heading up to one of the frozen lakes. ]

[ good thing that uta is extremely agreeable when it comes to exploring the island and especially when he brings up doing something on the bingo cards. everything was still fresh and new to her, and if he had mentioned it earlier than she had completely forgotten. ]

No, I haven't. It doesn't snow where I grew up and when I traveled, we never stayed long enough for me to do those things.

[ Someways on the beach, closer to Uta's beach farm than should be feasibly allowed, Childe's off testing something incredibly ill-advised. So, business as usual. Only way to tell something's gone awry is the heaviness choking up the air, building up the same way condensation does. Seconds before it happens, that's the only actual warning that meets Uta: what feels a whole lot like the premonition of rain. If she glances up, though, it isn't storm clouds gathering above, but this huge, whale-shaped form rising to obscure her entire view.

Sure is a gigantic narwhal, watery and huge, come to crash down on her if she doesn't move to escape the splash zone. ]

Watch out!

[ Clearly, he's the perpetrator. But the shock is evident on his face; until today, his control over water was flimsy and slipshod, less than receptive to his demands. Now, just like back then, it takes nothing at all: willing his Hydro Vision to answer his call, it responds in kind. ]

[ you know, when uta woke up today and if someone would have told her to be careful of gigantic bodies of water in the shape of some sort of whale falling from the sky and onto her, then she would have thought that'd be a bit too crazy for a place like this. ...apparently being turned into a cat for two days and having her hand stuck to a person are acceptable but this? definitely not.

but, yes, (un)fortunately for her she does notice the shadow on the ground and the way the air changes before looking up and spotting the culprit. and according to the dice i rolled, uta will not be able to dodge out of the way and escape the splash zone. she will, at least, be far enough away to where it doesn't fall on her wholesale and her dog, luffy, seemed to be presently elsewhere. ...small blessings at least. ]

[ she'll look around frantically trying to see what could have been the source of it only not minding how she's drenched. the drowned rat is a look, i guess. only once it becomes obvious, to her, that there was not a clear indicator of what triggered that will she look to childe. ]

[ After some prior discussion on combining two bingo squares, Souji and Uta find themselves at the Ellis/Souji household, making full use of the expansive kitchen that Ellis has been awarded. To fulfill his side of the bingo bargain, he's wearing a comfortable outfit, heels and all, underneath this apron. He perfectly intends on leaving the house like this too because damn, he's cute and he knows it. ]

[ Cracking some eggs into a bowl, Souji looks over at Uta. They've decided on omurice, which is easy and simple to prepare. No way that they can mess this up! ]

Are you familiar with the dish?

[ you know, when they talked about souji teaching her how to cook it was one thing that was super important, all things considered, and they discussed how it might be fun for them to dress up (or really for souji to cross-dress) uta really had no idea what to expect. some people surely might have been uncomfortable with that kind of thing, right?

but here he stands before her looking entirely too comfortable in what someone (less confident in their everything) would feel otherwise. though, you know, it's not a bad look. uta might be even amazed if he cooks their entire meal in those heels. ]

I've had it many times before! [ watching him very carefully to see how he cracks the egg and looks over everything else that they have. rice. veggies... easy. it surely can't go wrong! ] But I've never learned how to cook it; someone else always took care of it for me.
